I hope that they will fix it before I play lol
Customizing Hawke causes my Inquisitor to switch voice actors.

Dammit. What an annoying bug. I hope we get a patch for this soon (glad my game still isn't here for a change).

yes bioware please fix this before i run out of side quests
This! I'm happy leaving this to the side for now, but I'm also concerned that since I can't talk to Varric while this is happening, I don't lose out on stuff with him because of it. Are there any time-sensitive Varric quests that I should know of? Right now, I'm still plugging away at the Red Lyrium destruction companion quest. I am slowly working my way through the areas, so I haven't gotten to all of them yet. I also haven't gone to see Celene yet either.

Just got hit with Foreign Accent Syndrome here, myself. Damn, this is one nasty bug.
Gonna play out the Hawke/Warden missions before I go back and reload my save from before.
Patch 'er up, BioWare.

The VA is the same. The voice that changes is the player character's, not Hawke's.
Ahhh, ok. I was confused, I thought Hawke' voice changed due to this bug. Wow that would really ****** me off.

I saved right before meeting Hawke. I reloaded and just went with default Hawke. I told myself "my" Hawke is in disguise.

We really need an ETA for the patch that will fix this. As it is, i don't know if i should wait, start a new character or just accept Hawke looking wrong.

Yup, happened to me too - was annoying as I lost all the inventory management I'd done just before when I reloaded
. I do hope this can be fixed.

Is there no easy way to fix this? Like, changing some files in the game. Because I really want my custom Hawke, but I'm having this voice actor bug.
Is the patch on it's way?

Happened to me too. I will definitely wait for the patch to correct this before even doing side quests (I'm really hoping its going to come out next week). It completely ruins the RP of the game for me, and I'm pretty sure we all play Bioware games specifically for the RP element. It's not a game breaking bug, but it is a game changing one and they shoud have already fixed it with a hot fix or something. I am definitely not going to choose the default appearance, simply because we were all promised the ability to choose our own decisions during the game and there is no compromise for me when it comes to this decision.

If I understand it correctly, it only happens if you did not choose the default voice at character creation.

No, I played male Dalish with default English accent, and it changed to American.

Either they fix it or they give us our magic emporium mirror.
To be honest, I really want the emporium mirror anyway. I would have loved to change some stuff.

I'm having this too... Can't resume my playthrough.
I hope this gets addressed urgently.
I encountered other bugs but they were absolutely minor compared to this.

It seems the best thing to do until it's fixed is to just choose the opposite voice to the one you want, and just suffer through the first Act with the bad voice. The majority of the game will use the second option

Is there anyway that, if I just keep redoing this enough times, the voice will not switch at some point? I'm thinking of just saving before talking to Varric and then reloading until the voice stays British after customization… any chance this will work? Anyone gotten this to work, by chance?

I don't believe it's random. It resets to the default for your race.
Only way to accomplish it is not to customize.

Dang… well that sucks. I guess I won't be playing much of the main story for a while. There's no way I'm just going to go with default Hawke, when custom Hawke is right there, mocking me. Maybe I could get used to the American voice, but I would really prefer not to have the voice switch over mid-game. Sigh… I hope they fix this soon… Will they even fix it on old gen, or will they only patch it on next gen, when they do? I'm not sure how that works. Should I just give in and accept that my character is suddenly American, continuing on with the game? Maybe they'll patch it soon and I can finish some of the missions I skipped from Hinterlands in the meanwhile?

Was this PC only?
I play on XOne and I was expecting this to happen to me last night...but It didn't. I customised my Hawke and my characters voiced remained the same.

It happened to me on PS3, so I don't think it's a PC only thing. What race and accent were you using?
(personally, I was playing a British dwarf, and his voice changed to American the 2 times I've tried customizing Hawke)
