Customizing Hawke causes my Inquisitor to switch voice actors.

Which is actually rather aggravating since default Hawke looks absolutely nothing like my Hawke. And on the other side I'm not a fan of the American voice for my Inquisitor at all either. So it was basically a pick your poison situation.
I just ended up going with default Hawke since I know she's eventually gonna leave and I gotta listen to my Inquisitor for the whole game.

Just had this happen to me, too. PC, female human, American voice changed to British after custom Hawke. After spending so long getting her to look reallly perfect, too ![]()

My biggest fear concerning the voice change bug is that when they implement the patch it will prevent the bug from happening but will not help those of us who have continued to play after the voice change because we did not have a save before the meeting and have continued past that point doing side quests for hours and hours.

Happened to me on PS4, female human Inquisitor.
I had read plenty about this prior to it happening but was still surprised when it did. I just re-loaded and went with silly default Hawke as it was worth it to keep my voice.
First bug on the PS4 for me - time for shots! ![]()

This happened to me on PC. I went from American to British VO.
I spent a lot of time customizing my Hawke so I didn't want to reload on the off-chance the bug wouldn't reoccur.

I just got this on PC with my formerly British female qunari and a customized Hawke. Guess I'll see long I can stand waiting for a patch before I just suck it up and use default Hawke. ![]()
(Also the lighting for Hawke's customization is really terrible but that's a minor issue compared to this

Hawke's first appearance is just very bugged out in general. I HIGHLY suggest people create a separate save before initiating the scene where you regroup with the Inquisition after losing Haven (when you're wandering in the snow). In my 2nd playthrough my game would actually crash every single time I chose Default Hawke. By the same token my voice would always change if I chose custom.

Unless you deleted it, and depending how you play, there should be a milestone save point that isn't far off from the mission to finally close the breach.

I am currently well into my 32nd hour of play. The only save I have before the meeting is the one I personally made just before the mission to finally close the breach, and that was at my 18th hour of play. I will not repeat the last 14 hours of play, nor will I stop playing alltogether while waiting for a patch, just because I wanted to customize my Hawke's appearance.

Desperate to continue the main story I just tried playing with default manhawke and...I couldn't do it. I just...ugh, that beard is dreadful! And the blood smear is ridiculous. Does he keep a jar of blood to reapply that thing every time he washes his face? Or does he just not wash it off ever? I hope not because, you know...ew...
I really just want any sort of ETA on this fix at all. We talking days? Weeks? Months? Should I be starting a new playthrough or will the waiting time be reasonable? Tell meh BerWer!

Same issue here, playing human male inquisitor with an American English accent, after meeting Hawke he suddently sounds very posh... which is disturbing after having spend the previous 15 hours with the rougher AmE accent.
Honestly I can't continue until they fix this... 15 hours of character building only to have the main character switch voices halfway through ![]()

It's a dredful bug to be had in a game like this. Allmost unforgivable. The game relies heavily on you making your own hero. I spent nearly 4 hours customizing to get the perfect inqusitor for me. Now I'm 30 hours into the game and suddenly my rugged, grizzly veteran rogue sounds like... like.. I don't know, sounds wrong anyhow.
I'm sure they will fix it but i'm worried it will not help us who are allready affected by this.
Please Bioware, add an NPC/magic mirror to the game where you can change your voice and haircut/beard style. Anything more than that would break the immersion. The voice fixing is mandatory, I think you owe it to us since you messed up. The hair & beard is optional and not that important, but I think it would be cool. Whatever you do, don't you dare release a DLC where you can do it. I've been a huge Bioware fan since KOTOR and will be utterly offended if you do that. I might not even buy your next game right on release (SHOCK)
Oh and one more thing. Somebody from Bioware should recognize this issue. Some distant vague tweet saying "should be addressed" is not enough in my opinion.

I'd settle for a patch so that the voice doesn't switch next time. I've decided I care more about having Hawke look the way I like her, than having my Inquisitor be a British dude rather than an American. I'm just going to playthrough the rest of the game with the American voice & then just make the same character later on with the correct voice when/if it's patched and replay the game. I'll probably want to change some decisions I made over the course of the game, anyways.

Luckily this doesn't seem to happen if you're using the default "British" voice.

This! I'm happy leaving this to the side for now, but I'm also concerned that since I can't talk to Varric while this is happening, I don't lose out on stuff with him because of it. Are there any time-sensitive Varric quests that I should know of? Right now, I'm still plugging away at the Red Lyrium destruction companion quest. I am slowly working my way through the areas, so I haven't gotten to all of them yet. I also haven't gone to see Celene yet either.
Same here... I'm getting tire of slalomming my way through Thedas...
This is isn't how you're supposed to play a game...
I'm avoiding anything Red Lyrium-related cause I want to be able to talk to Varric.
I'm obviously avoiding to talk to Varric. Skyhold is expanding and the story is moving on but old Varric is still stuck up there. Must be cold at some point.
I didn't go to the ball yet for fear I'd miss Hawke or Warden related content in main quests.

To be honest, I really want the emporium mirror anyway. I would have loved to change some stuff.
I hope they consider this solution.
This would be the quickest solution to this problem as well as bringing extra benefits.

I saw a tweet from Mike Laidlaw: https://twitter.com/...891994209087488
While it's encouraging it has been acknowledged it doesn't look like it's part of any sort of priorities...
The first tweet is from November 19th so it's been a week.

What do you mean by saying ''customize Hawke"? In my game the Hawke appeared with the standard model of Dragon Age II and has no way to change your face. For me it is good, even though he is a bit different now. The British accent of my human character has not changed.

You can customize your Hawke if you imported a custom Hawke via your keep in DA2.
If you didn't have the option then it means something went wrong in your import?
Or maybe your Hawke was default in DA2?

I'm starting to think that if we don't get a patch by the end of today, we're probably not going to see one at least until next monday, considering that it's Thanksgiving in America tomorrow.

In fact, I created a game with the preset choices. The Dragon Age Keep is not very intuitive.
And look ... I have 125 hours in Origins and 80 hours in Dragon Age II. It could be easy to import our saved game, like in Mass Effect 2 and 3.
In addition, the two times that I finished the Dragon Age II, I never changed the face of Hawke. Also i never changed the face of Shepard. I like the standard way.
Thanks

This is what frustrates me about EA, and surprises me about bioware. It's been a week. While I'm sure they have a ton of glitches they are trying to iron out, they should be micro patching these story halting bugs.
The main problem is NO communication. I haven't seen any responses to forum posts, and Mike Laidlaw is the only one to say they are working on it.
What does that mean, we are going into a major holiday with a ton of people who can't progress the story? and they are just ok with that?
Communicate something.
I can understand bugs being in a game, in one this huge its going to happen, but respond to your customers.
