I'm not sure but, from the way you've worded this, it sounds as if the problem may be with Loghain.
For Alistair to survive and become king, Loghain must be dead.
You can choose either Alistair or the Warden as the person who kills Loghain.
If you choose Alistair to kill Loghain, he can become king but cannot be joint ruler with Anora.

i killed loghain and made allistar sole ruler but I have to choose the warden i can't choose Allistar as the one who killed the archdemon eventhough I chose the option for morigan to do the dark ritual with allistar

Ah, okay.
I think if you did the Dark Ritual, then that might have made any previous discussion about who should kill the Archdemon irrelevant. Theoretically it should have still been possible for Alistair to kill the Archdemon and survive, obviously, but I think DA:O just assumed that - if you did Morrigan's Dark Ritual - then you must have wanted the Warden to kill the Archdemon and survive , so it gave you that cutscene automatically.
I'm not 100% sure (it's been a while since I played DA:O through to the end!), but I think that might be what the Tapestry is trying to tell you.

I'm fresh off a game on DAO with many others under my belt.
If you do the Dark Ritual with Morrigan, regardless of whether it is Alistair or the Warden who does the deed, the only person who can kill the Archdemon is the Warden. The game won't bring up any other choices since it's programmed to kill Alistair if he kills the Archdemon.
If you eliminate Alistair from the equation by saving Loghain, Loghain or the Warden does the Ritual and either one can kill the Archdemon.
You can make Alistair king before the final battle but if he kills the dragon, he'll die and the throne defaults to Anora. This could be where the problem is in your selection. The game just doesnt like to kill King Alistair that way. This is one of those weird "fixed places in time" that can't be changed in the game so the Keep has to follow the logic.
If you don't have any problems with the choice, do the following:
-have Loghain executed by Alistair or the Warden
-make Anora queen
-have Alistair do the Ritual to get your baby
-then let the Warden kill the Archdemon. Both Alistair and the Warden will survive at the end.
This is one of those weird "fixed places in time" that can't be changed in the game so the Keep has to follow the logic. Good luck!

Loghain can kill the Archdemon even if you do the Dark Ritual? I don't think that's right.

I just got back to read that and you are correct Natureguy85. It should read:
"If you eliminate Alistair from the equation by saving Loghain, Loghain or the Warden does the Ritual and only the Warden can kill the Archdemon."
That is the same as if Alistair does the Ritual. Loghain can only sacrifice himself if no one does the Ritual.
Thanks for calling me on that. I knew better! Hope you are having fun in DAI. I'm hoping to get to it as soon as I solve a little driver problem on my computer.
I hope this helps you, DragonKeep

I actually haven't gotten it yet ![]()
I have too many games yet unplayed to drop $60 on it. I'm really tempted though because I loved Origins and working on the Keep and discussing Dragon Age so much has definitely made me hungry to get back into this universe. I am extremely interested in the Morrigan/Flemeth angle.

Just finished DA:O yeasterday in order to have this ready for the Keep..
Now it wont import anything from Origins, just cause of some stupid error somewhere. But.. here's my case.
- Warden executed Loghain.
- Allistair was made King married to Anora for practical reasons.
- Warden and Morrigan did the ritual.
- Warden kills the Archdemon.
- Both Warden and Allistair lived.
Even did the awakening afterwards where both are alive and well in the first cutscene after saving the Vigil!
But the tapestry wont let me pick that at all...

That is a valid world state, so I am going to take a wild guess and say that you have it set so that Morrigan has a human baby when the proper tile is for her to have an OGB to achieve your desired world state.Just finished DA:O yeasterday in order to have this ready for the Keep..

You must set that Morrigan had the Old God Baby first.

That would be my guess too, Sangui.
Morrigan having a human baby isn't an outcome I ever saw before and I can't figure out how to get it myself. But since the focus of these choices in the programming is the old god baby, I think that NatureGuy85 is correct. You will need to double check that you've marked "Morrigan had an old god baby with the Warden."
I'm glad I'm not the only one here who hasn't started playing DAI yet, Natureguy85. I've had to avoid coming here since Tuesday so I won't get the spoilers by accident.

You get human baby by sleeping with Morrigan without doing the Dark Ritual. That would be my guess too, Sangui.
