Anyone else sorta feeling overwhelmed by the huge amount of side quests?

I kinda was at first, but then I just sorta got lost into it, doing quest after quest, and found it very rewarding in general, and tons of fun. I have almost 11 hours of gameplay and I'm still in the first zone due to all of the exploring, side quests, rifts, etc.

Yeah I'm about 14 hrs in and I'm busy doing all these side quest/exploration instead of advancing the plot.

I'm kinda getting burnt out so I'll probably advance the plot. Hopefully these sidequests aren't on a plot related timer

Same here, questionable design decision to say the least.

No.. they arent.. Mr. Laidlaw said that in multiple Interviews when asked about that

No Open World Game will ever do that...   would be stupid

"oh look go explore here"..... 10 hours later "Game Over Evil Boss Bad Guy took over the world while youve been busy"  :D

Hope you're right. ME2 punished me severely for doing side quest and Skyrim had non essential npcs that could randomly die, thus not getting that quest or finishing it.

16 hours in and about 10 of those hours are just exploring Hinterlands and The Sword Coast, which by the way is probably one of the greatest zones i've ever explored in any video game ever, What i've done is just picked up all the quests as I am exploring and then if I run into the area while i'm looking around I do the quest. When I feel its a little stale I just go and do a main story quest. Who cares if you don't complete all the side quests. You can always play through again and do the ones you haven't done before. I'm loving the **** outta this game.

It can be overwhelming. I'm 15 hours into the game and I still haven't finished the Hinterlands area. Fortunately, I'm not finding any new side quests.

Welcome to a true RPG.

It is heaven.

Not overwhelmed, I find them pleasant. As a whole, they're a nice break from the emotional and mental overstimulation of the main quest/war council and well-integrated into the overall story (earning credence with the population, stockpiling resources for the cause).

I got so lost in Hinterlands that I forgot to advance the main story. After 10 hours, I realized I could go back to Haven and the war table. Doh!

But now I decided to start over as a mage. Playing Rogue is fun, but I prefer the mage and want my whole story to be mage

I was feeling overwhelmed and anxious by all the tasks. But I started ticking them off, one at a time, and it seems to work.
