Not a troll, but... Why are the female companions so ugly?

You can never win, can ya? Sera has a cute lil smooshed looking button nose, but that's "too big" somehow. Josie has a longer, more narrow nose, but that's somehow a "hooked nose"... like, what? Do you want them all to have the same nose or something? Or tiny little anime noses? Yes, I'm focusing on the nose comments because it disturbs me how much I'm seeing them. ![]()

Why don't you try to look past Josie's and Cass's appearance? They don't have to be your type but please, god, give characters a chance. I find them stunning in their own way. They don't have to be super models. Calling them ugly is really degrading, in my opinion.

I was just thinking that it's nice not to have a game full of glamazons and Calvin Klein models. It's almost like they are real people. You know, that fantasy place where how a person looks, behaves, and interacts with others is what creates their attractiveness to those that might be interested.

You know what gets me? Bioware made a character generator so good, we could make characters that look as real as possible. They obviously put the same effort and thought into their characters. Josephine has features that speak to her ethnicity, Sera may not be classically beautiful, but she is, as others have said, cute. The Iron Bull looks like a grizzled and battle scarred warrior. They put in characters with appearances that reflect the strengths and flaws of real people, just as their personalities do.
They did not put in characters whitewashed of any reality by all being completely, symmetrically gorgeous in a look reminiscent of the photoshopped models being shown to us all of the time whenever we look in a magazine or on television. I admit the first time I saw Sera, I thought "hmmm. She's really not as beautiful as I was expecting." But having met her in game, her look suits her personality perfectly, and I find her adorable.
I think we forget the role personality plays in attractiveness. I may be alone, but I think the characters designs are the best Bioware has done.

I've always thought Cassandra was attractive, but I'm surprised at how attractive she looks in some scenes. She's unconventionally attractive, but far from ugly. Josephine is conventionally attractive. If people don't find her attractive, it speaks to personal task because outside of a slightly larger nose, all of her features are very attractive.
I haven't gotten to Sera yet, so I'm not sure what she'll look like in game at this point.

Dorian is gay option so Dorian although he's hot isn't really for female players. I mean everyone can romance him but he's still option only for male Inquisitor and like that OP, he's as big option for you as for me.
Solas and Blackwall are far from models. Cullen is closest but he is not perfectly attractive either.
See it is simply nothing other than opinion. And you either got the raw end of the stick or you got really lucky, depending on your personal preferences.
I find Dorian extremely unattractive, and same with Bull, but that's who my character got stuck with. On the other hand, Blackwall is practically a sex god in my eyes, Cullen is gorgeous, and Solas's voice makes me melt. But I can't have any of those guys.
But there are people who can have them and can't stand them. And there are people who do have them and love them.
Just about preferences.
Sucks that some people got more than others.
Wish we'd all gotten the same, personally. Miss the days of DA2. I will trade feelings of "immersion" for getting to engage in romance with my preferred characters any day! ![]()

I know this is a joke thread and all but...really? Look at the facial bone structures on Cass and Josie! Just...unf.

Cass is too masculine for some, Josie has some rather odd features too.
Question of taste really.

Well, to each their own. I think Cassandra is quite pretty and the only male companion that actively attracts my eye is Varric. Personality wise though I think everybody appears to be a winner so far (both men and women I mean). Solas kind of has a Vulcan thing going on though, which is making him grow on me.

No.
They are not doing it to make a feminist statement.
They are doing it to make realistic characters.
So, if you look at only the options that were available initially (before they pushed the date back), you've got...
for straight females:
Blackwall and Iron Bull
for straight males:
Cassandra and Josephine
I'm very intrigued by Blackwall and Iron Bull, and I will romance them in playthroughs down the road, but I neither of them makes my heart go pitter-patter over their physical appearance. There are plenty of women (and men, of course) who would not find them appealing in the least. If they hadn't added Cullen and Solas, I imagine we'd be seeing complaints from straight female gamers pretty often.
Speaking of Cullen, even some of us who do find him attractive, don't find him so in a traditional sense. He has a lantern jaw, sure, but the shape of his face otherwise a bit unusual. Certain angles make him look downright strange. I know his reputation can lean toward the "Ken doll" choice amongst the love interests, but that might be rather over-stating his physical beauty. Believe it or not, a lot of interest in Cullen is brought about by his character, and not strictly his face.
As everybody and their brother's parrot has pointed out, this is a really subjective issue.
You clearly realized this would tick some people off OP. I'm surprised you didn't also realize that there isn't an answer beyond "It's subjective".

OP has a point here. Cass looks like a butch lesbian. Sera is a nutter. Josy is a lolwattttttttttttt. IF I get this game, I might go with Dorian. At least he is good looking. And so what if he is gay and fabulous. Like I always say, if you go gay, find the prettiest one you can get.
