This is true, but to be honest, i don't get why they added a MP at all, especially such a flawed one.

Well I'd be lying if I said that I didn't freak the **** out when they announced the MP. I was a HUGE fan of the ME3 multiplayer and only stopped playing it because the single player was such a massive disappointment and I wasn't about to spend money on the multiplayer DLCs when I knew I was going to be trading it in. I still love playing this MP (in fact I'm making these posts between matches on the PS4) but it is EXTREMELY clear that single player took priority (not surprising) and they basically had the MP mode on the backburner with the deadline for the game quickly approaching. There are A LOT of real head scratchers when it comes to the problems with this, both from a QA standpoint and a design standpoint. To name a few off the top of my head...
equipment with stats/modifications for abilities that DO NOT appear in the multiplayer
equipment not having the correct model
voice chat not present during load screens
respawning loot vases
terrible collision detection between players
overall character model designs (the purpose of this thread, I don't need to restate how ridiculously bad most of the characters faces are, its laughable and atrocious)
loot system that is WORSE than ME3's loot system
dragonagehq (browser hub for the game, including MP) not even ready by launch
no sign of weekend events in sight
Its as if nobody analyzed and learned from having the MP in ME3, at all, yet they use very similar mechanics so they are clearly aware it existed.
The only thing that will save the multiplayer is if they make good on their promise to fix these things. BWEAmelia along with others from the team have been periodically posting here saying that they are aware of these things and are working towards them, which is a good sign, but only time will tell if they can deliver. part of me fears what we are going to get will be "too little, too late". In my opinion, if the MP doesn't get fixed and really start to hold its own (meaning the release of dragonageHQ and the weekend events) by christmas, it will be over. I'm really hoping that doesn't happen but its all up to biowares commitment to their product. I know bioware releases tons of great DLC for their single player (and ME3's multiplayer got some amazing additions) so I definitely have faith that they will deliver. Lets just hope its in a timely manner, considering this is all stuff that should have been done by release and not...weeks if not months after.
The MP has enough bugs and glitches as it is, not to mention some classes not even having their equipment display properly. Adding in a character creator that would now require the game to be able to recognize and properly display everybodies modifications...I'm afraid the bubblegum and duct tape holding the multiplayer together would give out.

Tbh i believe SP suffered from MP, especially regarding the combat system. It is so casual and untactical that i think the mp mode is responsible for this. A tactical combat system. where one has to pause the game and think about the next move is not bearable for MP-players. I noticed that in NWN2
I had similar thoughts, tensai, and unfortunately can't remember them right now but its pretty clear that the MP was more or less an afterthought with this game, which seems to have had farther reaching affects than people realize. If I can remember the correlation I made I'll post it but I'm only on for a few minutes right now before work, so that'll be much later.
