The font is the reason I can't play this game. I have bad eyes and after testing it on three different sized tv's I can't read it at all even if I do adjust the size because adjusting the size cuts off part of the game. Seriously Bioware?

I've both DA: Origins and DA2 on along with ME 1-3 on my standard television using my 360. I am thoroughly enjoying this game, well, at least I'm trying too but I'm having the same problem as everyone else. I've never had this problem with the other games and that's with terrible eyesight, hopefully a patch or update can address this issue because reading the in game text is crucial to this game for many reasons (items, quests, shops, crafting, etc.)

i got this problem too it sucks. im still playing but have no idea what im suppose to do on almost all my missions

Correct, the game at 1080p on a 40+ tv it's not playable.

In my opinion, the combination of very small font and his white color can create some desease to the players, like headache, cephalalgia and hemicrania to temporary vision loss: bioware must fix it fast.

This is not manufacturing defect, this is a dangerous handicap.

Same boat as many I see, good to know I'm not alone. While I can read it, that doesn't mean it's comfortable. I sit 1.5 meters from a 32 inch 720p screen, on PS4. I think enemy energy bars should be bigger too.

 

EDIT: Think my TV may be outputting at 1080i instead, going to make sure it's 720p and try again. But eitherway, a little bigger couldn't hurt eitherway.

 

I don't get the obsession with developers making everything so small to cater for 5% of the audience on PC with massive monitors, or at least give us the option to increase font size.

As a PC player, the font size is way too big. Like....WAY too big. Please make it smaller.

Same issue. Font unreadable. Xbox 360 with SD TV. Didn't have problem with DA Origins or ME 1-2-3 before.

 

Was considering buying HD TV but some complained of problem on HD too. Hoping for a patch.

50" TV with a PS4, and the text could be either bigger - or more legible. After so many years online I think my brain is trained to ignore ALL CAPS. The combination makes it particularly difficult to read codex entries; unfortunately, I just end up skipping them.

It would be great we could adjust the font size, so everyone would be happy.

Please don't flame me for asking this, but is the font size something that can be corrected in a patch?

 

There was the same request for ME2, the official answer at the time was akin to "change your TV", we'll see if they do something here (I'm not holding my breath as this has been a recurring problem for me with many developers, never seen one lift a finger).

I have the exact opposite problem as the OP.  Running a 2560x1600 display, I find the entire HUD absurdly oversized given the amount of screen real estate available at that resolution.  For instance, the party health bars overlay a large portion of the upper left quadrant of the screen.  There doesn't seem to be any way to scale the size down either.  Also, the various menus are ridiculously large, requiring the need to scroll down through options.  There's no reason not to scale down the size of those menus to fit more information on one screen without affecting readability for those of us with high resolution monitors.

 

I sort of fixed the problem by changing the HUD to "contextual" so it vanishes outside of combat.  It's still not ideal.

 

BW, please please consider adding a HUD scaling option for us finicky PC users!

The font size definately needs to be adjustable. PC seems too big while the size on my TV is so tiny... I have to stand up and sit around 2 meters in front of my TV to read the lore and stuff... that's simply not enjoyable like this. Come on guys, give us 2 sliders - one for the size of the HUD and one for the size of the texts. Can't be that difficult!

Well as some say for PC it's to Big that's not entirely true.

For PC playing on a PC-Monitor it may be to Big.

For PC playing from my Sofa on a 46" TV its just Perfect.

 

But I agree UI's and Font's should be scalable nowadays.

Most PC games are made for PC-Monitors, UI and Fonts are to small to play on a TV, this time its the opposite.

Adjustable definitely seems the way to go, like a smooth slider option.  It seems way too big for PC players, and way too small for console.

I can barely read it as well.

 

It seems there are some differences with fonts in some of our games. Look at these versions:

 

 

Clearly there are different fonts used. I have no idea what is going on.

 

Note that even though my version's font seems to be bigger - it is not. It's small when you look at it in the game. It really bothers me because I can't play the game that way.

Does anyone know if they are working on a patch? The game is impossible to play. I'm sitting right in front of my screen and can't make out anything. Th text size for ME3 was problematic too but at least when I looked closely at the screen I could make out what it said. No matter what I do, nothing makes the text in this game readable. I really hope I didn't just spend over $60 on a game I won't be able to play at all.

I sit about 6 feet away from my 1080p 40" TV, and I can stand about 30 minutes of playing before headache/dizziness make me quit.

I just skip all those notes that I find too, not bothering to read them at all.

I agree with the OP. I've had to move to 2-2.2m from my 42" tv to be able to comfortably read anything, and even then the war table is a challenge. This is on XBox one on hd and with no vision problems. Otherwise it's a terrible eye strain headache.

I am enjoying the game though when I can read it!
