No auto-attack for PC? What genius made that decision? Or did you develop DAI for console and just make a lazy port to PC?

If i hold left mouse, i auto cast from my staff, and after the mob is dead, it auto switches to next enemy and keeps firing, that seems like auto attack to me.

That's not auto-attack as you have to hold the mouse key down, or press it repeatedly.

PC controls are an absolute mess, and yes, most likely was an afterthought.

Revenge for DAII. There, PC had auto-attack and consoles did not.

Nope, hold down the left mouse button... that's fun, right? It's like baby's first action game.

Just a utter disaster. Pleying a melee warrior sucks.
think this will get fixed? have a option for Origins exact controls plus a stupid jump button somewhere?

Not only NO auto attack but your character has to "chase" every enemy using WASD to be able to try and hit them at all. When targeting an enemy to attack in melee, you do not move toward them or follow them. Half the time your character is swinging his weapon at nothing at all. LOL!
Poorly designed PC controls. Laughable... Except I'm not laughing.

It's the need to hold a button that's getting on most PC-Users nerves I would say...I really hate that (it only works like a real auto-attack in tactical cam - which has it's own drawbacks (I like using it, but I would for example like to shut off that perspective switch when selecting another character...it should simply say out of range, if I want to use a skill/spell from that character - or move the character into range, if I didn't toggle "hold positions"))

Is it really just the PC controls that are bad? Though I haven't tried, I can't see how it would be any better on a console. You still have to have to hold down attack buttons and chase enemies, unless you switch to tactical mode, which I can't imagine is any less useless than on PC either...

And imagine if you were a melee character. Hold to attack doesn't make you follow targets.
There's auto-attack in the Tactical View. Nowhere else. And that would be fine if the camera controls were better.

Hi, I'm Lee, I play on console ( yes I know, shame on me) and I do want auto attack.
I wish people would address issues without using console and those dumb console players as the underlying problem. Even if it was a porting issue, the fault would still be a 100% on the team making the port.

There is auto attack in tactical mode. None in regular mode though.

i dont understand, so you want an auto attack where you dont press any keys? basicly you want the game to do all the shooting whilst you watch? Or am i missing something to your request?

Because THATS HOW THE FIRST TWO GAMES WERE we hit our abilities or inbed them in the tactics screen
The pausing mid battle and assigning moves, attacks, heals, etc is part of what MADE Dragon Age Origins a masterpiece. The wheel was not broken so there was no need to fix it!!!!!!

@Ashur
This is not skyrim, where it makes perfect sense in the world for you to control how your char swings around his mace and step on top of his enemies without caring what's on your left or right(I played skyrim too)
in this game, you need to control 4 different chars, doing all different things; if you have to be consuming all your attention doing the basic stuff(basic combat and pursuing) for he char you have selected, I can guarantee you will die more often than not or all immersion is going to simply fade(punt) because will have to be stopping the game after every swing making the simplest combat routine an hour play.....
so yes, even if it is a toggle auto-combat(for those who obviously left skyrim and want to trash this game too)....IT HAS TO BE IN THE GAME

I agree, the auto-chase-the-enemy-around thing from Dragon Age 2 was very handy. It meant that you didn't have to try to follow the monsters in real time with your movement keys to try to play a melee character. Holding the mouse button down to actually attack wouldn't be TOO bad by itself, but it is when you have to manually follow the enemy around as well. Playing melee on the PC is pretty much a no-go at the moment. I really hope this gets addressed in the near future.
