MESSAGE POPULAIRE !

I just HAVE to say this. Yes, there is a serious problem with the tactical camera that adversely affects gameplay. I feel it, too, while fighting in close quarters, and yes, it is extremely annoying, but it's drowned under an avalanche of the fantastically impressive. Don't be put off by anyone saying it's "unplayable". If you're even moderately adaptable, it isn't.

This game has Bioware's best-realized fictional world to date, it has Bioware's best-realized characters, and it looks and sounds so damned good that it's hard to believe unless you've seen it on your own screen. The art of the interface is classy and fits the world and the exploration is great fun. You have so many things do to in this world - after you've stopped staring at the imagery and listening to spoken voices and songs.

I can only say keep any flaws you see in perspective! The whole package is fantastic, and the issues are of a kind that might just be patched away. Dragon Age Inquisition doesn't deserve to be slammed for one or two flaws, serious as they may be. That's just not fair. Damn it.

The game has several optimization problems but nothing I can't handle so far and that can't be easily patched.

I agree. Without giving away anything, I am super impressed. And I've only played it for 1 hour. I am so happy that my computer runs it on medium settings without crashing (If I put it on high, it freezes at random times). The negatives are all just nit picky: loot system, why can't I just have my character walk over to the item and pick it up automatically? The tactical camera, which doesn't really bother me as much as I am a more of a brute strength type of guy. The fighting could be done automatic too instead of hack and slash clicks, but I'm OK with it. That hair, though... ugh. Oh well, minor stuff.

Haven't gotten around to really exploring or experiencing the story, but it seems OK so far.

I wouldn't say "don't believe other people!"  Everyone's gonna have a different personal opinion.

But yeah, this game is bloody amazing.  Just some wonkiness with controls and the tactical camera feels weird, otherwise holy moly is it awesome.  The world just feels so alive and deep.  I've already had so many conversations with my companions and my advisors, and they actually ask me for my opinions on things.  And my character feels like an actual character!  Some of his responses are quite deep, or thoughtful.  The British Male VA does a great job of conveying emotions.  I am loving all these conversations :P

EDIT:  Also leldra I remember you being worried about being called the Herald of Andraste.  How are you enjoying the crapload of dialogue options of "For the last time, guys, I'm not a Herald!  Stop calling me that, guys!  Cut it out!"  Because I am enjoying the hell out of them.

I'm only a couple hours in, but so far I'm feeling pretty disappointed. And it's not because of the controls.

I also agree, though I feel for those having some technical issues.  I'm playing on xbox one and have had no technical issues really besides a few dialogue wheel issues where I couldn't respond but I feel as though those can easily be fixed.

I'm loving all of the companions, even Cole and Cassandra even though I was sure I was going to hate them both. I'm impressed with the story so far as well. I may have even gotten a bit emotional during the journey to skyhold.  :crying:

I think once BW gets the tech issues under control (which honestly, we're in new gen consoles and a totally new engine...we had to expect some hiccups, right?) I think everyone will be much happier.

The control system (on PC at least) is ****** poor, but other than that, the game is very impressive so far. Don't be put off by us whiners, it's well worth playing :)

I think people who enjoy it never played MMOs. Since if you did, you would grow tired of filler timesinks which is what 80% of DAI content is.

I played Guild Wars- does that count as an MMO? You can't tell me I didn't spend hours upon hours upon hours grinding bullshit zergs for loot. lol. Isn't that sort of the same thing?

You might have a point as I know I've never played them however filler quests have been in every rpg I've ever played going to recent ones like Skyrim (plenty of fetch quests there-"Get me ten bear pelts" etc) and their in Divinity: Original Sin. I've tested the beta for Pillars of Eternity which will be a pretty massive game in terms of maps and they are there. So let me turn your statement back on you: Perhaps you've played a lot of MMOs and not a lot of single-player rpgs?

Plus I assume DA:I is no different than all of the above (or the earlier games in the series) in that you can opt to ignore a lot of these quests. I did less than half of the side quest fillery things in Origins and DA II. I just blew them off. Can't you do the same?

You could, in theory. Practically speaking, that is bound to negatively impact your ability to level up and gather power/influence.

User reviews on Metacritic are divided pretty evenly between 10/10 scores and 0/10 scores; there's very little in between.

I suspect that reflects the fact that, if you can get the game working as it's supposed to, small things like graphics won't matter in the bigger scheme of things while, if you just can't run the game at all because of the major bugs that seem to be plaguing a lot of PC players, then obviously everything is going to seem bad.

Roll on Friday!

Well it sounds like there are so many of these that you could theoretically skip a percentage of them and still level and gain influence. I haven't left Haven yet so I'll test this out in the first area I get into.

The PC version of this game feels like an afterthought but I'm really enjoying my time in it so far. Now only if my companions could banter a bit more...

I just enjoy running around exploring. I keep telling myself that I'll start the main mission in the Hinterlands, but I get distracted by all side quest.

I ran to the store after a few hours of someone's Twitch letsplay to buy this game and have not regretted it. I can't imagine anyone not liking this game. The environments are incredible, the characters are realistic and the combat system is FUN (both for tactical spergs and casual players alike).

I suppose we could just play an hour long game with nothing but the story and then be done.

Got my copy lat (PS3), and I lov this game after 3 hours in.

I love how it recipricates your curiosity. You walk off the rails in anything (conversation, exploration, etc) you find something. I litterally had o cut companion conversations short before I wanted to because of time constraints. It was amazing. The emotion system, while I already see the hint of something that might irk me, is pretty good step up from DA2's Tone system.

Tactical Camera feels as if I will definitely can get used to it with time, but being a console player, I finally got a taste of what PC players had with Origins (having a 'free' camera during combat).

The story? Won't judge until the end. A lot of people felt that KOTOR's story was 'meh' at the beginning too (typical twists, cliched tor beats, "duh, of course I'm going to be a Jedi", etc), but thanks to 'the twist' it's considered one of the greatest rpg storylines of all time. Right now, this game already has deep characterization. I love Josie to death and my first conversaions with Lelianna, Cullen and Cassandra were very interesting and as I said earlier, deep. No 'Carth syndrome'** here

So yeah, playing this game on PS3 made me realize that if this was a ps4 exclusive, Sony may had _finally_ gotten a game that would force me to make that jump to next gen (and I'm considering it based on reports on how gorgeous the game looks on ps4).

I like this game and I'm glad I got it. 'some' people (and I re-emphaise 'some' as I can understand some of the issues people are having) need to get over themelves and quit trying to bend backwards to find things wrong. It would be a shame that people won't try this game based on them, is all I'm saying (like DA2. Even now, people who ignored it due to 'poor user reviews' are jut now playng it to catch up to Inquisition and they're loving it)..
