I agree. This game is amazing. From what I've read, it seems the majority of people complaining about 2 things: the tactical controls and the other one is PC users complaining about the game being designed more for the console.
Don't believe the detractors, this game is awesome!

I just HAVE to say this. Yes, there is a serious problem with the tactical camera that adversely affects gameplay. I feel it, too, while fighting in close quarters, and yes, it is extremely annoying, but it's drowned under an avalanche of the fantastically impressive. Don't be put off by anyone saying it's "unplayable". If you're even moderately adaptable, it isn't.
If only this omniscience as to how this game performs for everyone also actually translated into the game running acceptably on my PC, we'd be doing great.
Sadly, saying it doesn't make it so.
I've never been a graphics snob - I still play on an old 1680x1050 monitor, and I'm perfectly happy if a game can run at that resolution at a stable 30 FPS on some mix of high and medium settings. (though when running "real" PC titles that have been decently optimized, it usually manages at least High settings all around, or some mix of High and Ultra)
Inquisition suffers from random FPS drops and instances of horrible stutter on my PC (despite newest drivers), and turning down the graphics quality improves matters somewhat, but not significantly enough, and at the same time makes the game painful to look at. All that just in the prologue, before getting into the larger open-world areas, which can't possibly be better. I call that unplayable, especially in a game I might spend 60+ hours on.

Too bad the game just is unplayable for older gen. That really brings down the amazing factor.

Gah! For the record:
**Carth Syndrome: Named after Carth Onasi of KOTOR, who, to keep things brief, was very whiny and annoying to the point that a majority of players didn't care about his backstory, and thus would skip it (or try to, some of his conversations were mandatory to the main story). You have to experiance it once to get the full feel of why this was so bad, but in a nutshell, his logic and personality would have you yelling at him as a player, not a character, which was immersion breaking.
Morigan in Origins was close to this (as evidenced by the 'Slap Morrigan' Mod), but good writing and character storyline saved her from it.
Thankfully non of that here. Anytime Varric is considered the weakest character imo (and he's not weak at all I still love him) says volumes!

I've only played about an hour but I can see I'm going to really enjoy it. I agree that playing on the PS3 is not the best but not unplayable. I agree thejoshie that if they had only made it for the ps4 it might have pushed me into getting one sooner than I'd planned but I can hold off for a bit longer. I will have to figure out the tactical camera because at this point I'm not having to use it....maybe I won't have to use it much any how but I'll give it a go. So far I like the characters a lot ..even Solas who I wasn't so sure of....might even romance him! So as long as the story is good and the characters are good then I will be happy. If I really like the game I will buy another copy when I get a ps4 because I think I will really want to see it in all it's graphical glory! ![]()

I think people who enjoy it never played MMOs. Since if you did, you would grow tired of filler timesinks which is what 80% of DAI content is.
I've played UO, EQ1 and 2, WoW, DAOC, SWG, Vanguard, Aion, Rift, SWTOR, ESO, and Archeage.
And I absolutely love DA:I. I'd rate the game a 9 out of 10.

No one is saying the game is perfect but it's extremely good. 9 out of 10 easily.
People are blowing some things WAY out of proportion.

I am LOVING the game so far!!! I will admit, that I am not very far along because I am being slow as hell and decided to pre-make a few Inquisitors before advancing with my first guy (this took me several hours because I am a maniac when it comes to the CC. I think I have legit perfectionist issues).
I am on PS4, and I have had *no* major or even big technical issues. Here or there I experience occasional tiny hiccups during cutscenes, but they are minor with mostly NPCs popping in out of nowhere. Only rarely and only in cutscenes though.
LOVING the characters I have met so far.
I like combat!!! I decided to blithely traipse about the Hinterlands (yes, I am still there) through swarms of mage/templar skirmishes. I swear the AI was messing with me at certain points. This one moment sticks with me: I was leading my party around a ruined stone building to avoid 2 apostates accompanied by sellswords. ( I wonder how they can afford to pay sellswords. Perhaps they are looting villagers that they have killed?) The lead apostate saw us, stopped, and *just stood there staring at us*. By then, I was down to roughly half my health with each companion and only had 1 potion left. The apostate took one step towards us and then stopped again. It's like he was daring us to pass through his neck of the woods. I started retreating, but he followed until he got too close for comfort before I decided to get the first hit in and attack.
Long story short, the limited health and healing provides me with a fun challenge and interesting scenarios like this one. I really have to weigh the risk and benefit of each fight if I ever start to get low on health. It's cool and I like it.
Game looks beautiful and the story is great so far!!

I love getting 'lost' in huge open games. My 'strategy' so far has been to explore until I am pretty bruised and beaten and practically crawling back to safe spots for healing. It is not very dignified and noble, but I figure once I get big and strong, I can look back and really feel how much I have grown. I really like the combat.

Maybe I'm just lucky, but I'm playing on PC with all settings on high or above, and aside from a few necessary changes to key mapping (so I stop jumping around like an idiot when I'm trying to pause) and applying the FPS fix posted earlier, I've had no trouble whatsoever with stutter or anything else. Yeah, the combat's a little wonky and takes some getting used to, but it's not that terrible.
Now about 12 hours into the game and enjoying it immensely!

I'm enjoying it quite a bit myself, I was pretty hyped for the game and I wouldn't say it's let me down at all (I haven't gone through much of the story yet though). I maintain the capacity to still be critical of things I enjoy however, or at least aspects of them. I find it a good middle ground to being either blindly fanatical, or unreasonably condemning. It's just more of a shame really that if some of the things like the camera and controls were fixed, I'd probably like this game a lot more than I did vanilla DAO even, as it sits the fiddlyness/clunkiness really detracts from the experience though.

But this alone would never cut it for me in video game. What I need are characters I love and plot hooks that intrigue me to carry on. Thankfully, Inquisition is already offering both in spades, despite reviews mentioning that the story doesn't really grab you until a bit later, anyway.
And that bodes very, very well for me.

I don't think there's a shortage of people with opinions and complaints on what could make the game better. While these kinds of threads seem useless, imagine how exhausting it would be for the devs to just see complaints all the time.
The negatives will always be focused on automatically. I think the positives need a bit of love too. And this game certainly has a lot of them. It's not without issues, obviously, but the devs are going to become VERY aware of what this community thinks of the negatives.

Agree with this, I actually got -bored- with Varric. GASP, how is that possible?!
Right now, Solas is the most interesting character. Only spoke to him a few times but there's just something about him that is so wonderful. I might do a female elf for my next play through just to romance him.

What is it with this forum and its inability to accept critique? Apparently Bioware and their games should never be critisized and everything complainers say is blasphemy
People have legit reasons to be upset, many can't even start the game they have paid for
You're lucky you enjoy your game. I, for once, have to make myself play because of the terrible, terrible PC controls and some folk even demanded a refund. Heck, even I had to ask for a refund and then rebuy the game just to get English subtitles in a game made in an English-speaking country

I'm joking, but the same idea. Don't make sweeping generalizations about a group of people. Many here are being unreasonable in their complaints and many people are being unreasonable in their praise. It goes both ways.
Also I'm confused about the language thing. Did you buy a French version?

It is hard to see positives when the game crashes after 5-10 minutes of playing, shows the black screen instead of a game, has a terrible, impossibly terrible PC controls which pretty much forces one to use a gamepad (and no, that is not okay. If I wanted to play with a controller I'd buy a console, not PC. I play PC because KB&M controls) etc etc
I don't see much people being unreasonable about their complains. The worst I saw was a post about some EA consipracy, but after SimCity and Sims4 and now DA:I I am not even sure it was actually crazy
The thing is - PC version of DA:I is simply bad. People are upset because it is actually that bad. Dizziness-causing KoA was a bliss compared to this
And apparently we can't just express out shock and sadness because some pro-console trolls (some of which don't even use KB&M) will jump in a thread and start mocking people and bragging how greay their experience is and how we should shut up and suck it up
We paid real money for this game and it is not unreasonable for us to expect at least mediocrate gameplay for PC. Not this... mess
Heck, even Allan said we have a right to express our dissapointment. But no, apparently it is a sin in some people's eyes
Though to be honest this urge to shut up any kind of negative feedback has been pretty strong lately here
Region-locked language set. I bought it at first in Russia, cuz, duh, region. It has Rus/Pol version which has english voiceover but no english subtitles. The only way to manualy fix it can stop the player from getting achivement and may even crash a game
