Yes...because believe it or not... positivism always always beats negativity. You should try it sometime.

I just notice you never admit you are a PC gamer.

Why do PC players need to connect a controller for a game that suppose to be made for PC as promise by the developers or is it all a lie.

They don't need to connect a controller. I use KB+M and it works fine. The mouse control offers you better control than with a controller.

There's a few bugs (notably the tooltips in inventory not refreshing properly), but otherwise the controls work fine. Mouse control is clearly supported (including mouse scrolling).

They ARE different from DAO, and wanting to play it like DAO is doing it wrong. Learn the new controls, and you'll find mouse support to be quite complete, and offering you greater flexibility than with a controller.

Haven't owned a console in years.

If you truly desire proof of my belonging to the PC master race, I'm sure you can find some posts of mine saying that I can't wait for my new gaming laptop to arrive to replace my current one :)

Looks like you are in the minority.

Not at all. On the forum, perhaps, but that's normal on game release. People with a bone to pick will be more vocal, whereas few people bother to post how happy they are.

A bunch of posters being angry about something does not put them in the majority, for the same reason online polls are statistically unreliable. It means SOME people are angry about it, which is of course bad, but it has little significance as to how the user base at large actually feels.

Hell there hasn't even been that many complaints, all things considered.

PC gamer here after playing the last two iterations on PS3. No crashes (even with a lot of jumping back to desktop), no control issues on a two year old rig. Only bug so far where I lost control of my party for a little bit in a dungeon which, ironically, gave me a new found respect for the AI (playing on Hard mode).

I just notice you never admit you are a PC gamer.

I've read through all your posts here, and you've certainly reiterated many times the problems the PC version is having.  And if this was a PC-only forum, a lot of this would wash.  But the majority of sales were on the console, which is why there is so much of the positive vibe that seems to irk you so much.

For years it seems there's been a kind of class war between the PC master race and lowly console players.  Personally, I don't wish anyone a bad experience with Dragon Age Inquisition.  I want everyone to enjoy the game.  But let's keep this in perspective.  You're trying to sell the world on the notion that the game is a flop because there are issues on the PC.  In the PC community, that might be true, but a lot of people here on the lowly consoles are enjoying the hell out of the game.

I hope your issues get sorted out, I honestly do.  But in the meantime, I'm still going to go on telling anyone who wants my opinion that this game is a brilliant gaming achievement.

I'm a PC gamer - game is pretty smooth in my case, luckily. I agree with Ieldra, a few fixes to tactical combat and this is a 10/10 game for me. As it is, 9/10 easily. Love it.

As someone who has been gaming, primarily on PC, since about 1995, I have some sympathy with devs when it comes to bugs. There is a frankly ridiculous number of possible hardware/software configurations - especially these days when bespoke machines are so much more common than when the market was dominated by the old proprietary Dell, HP etc machines. I build my own rigs these days (cheaper and quicker) but it also requires me to be on top of things when it comes to maintenance and finding out what's happened when things go wrong. Devs can't possibly test every combination of kit - it requires us PC players to do it for them to a degree, which is why its' so important to post specs when we have an issue, and to be a bit patient sometimes I think. I do have every sympathy with people suffering from technical issues (I well remember the frustration when I couldn't play Morrowind or NWN1 properly for months after the games were released because of crashing issues)  but just give good feedback, post specs, and hopefully all will be well for you :)

And how about those with 10/10, I suppose you think they are real.

To be fair, they're a lot closer to any objective score than the 0/10s.

But that's why user review scores are meaningless (yes, even less meaningful than professional reviews): they are far too easily biased by "pet-peeve" issues.

And, of course, they're also self-selected: people with a bone to pick and a point to make will review bomb the game to make their feelings known to the developer (thinking erroneously that harming the review score will somehow make their concerns more significant to the developers), so there's an inherent negative bias to user reviews (at least for high profile games).

The problem is there are people out there who, out of ignorance, will look at user reviews and think they are representative of the actual game, so real harm is actually done. This is very unfortunate, as the only way to prevent that is to make a game that pleases everyone, which is sadly impossible.

HI

I'm really loving this game, it exeed my expectations and i'm sure not playing another game for at least 2 years.

And you know what Han Master i'm a PC player.

And yes i'm playing Inquisition with a controller, that not make me a console player.

You know that controller or joystick exist from the beginning of the computer and are part of it. (remember the joystick port on audio card?:))

With some game i prefer Keyboard + Mouse, on other i prefer controller.

If you really think it's impossible to play a game on PC with a controller, try playing game like Street Fighter with Keyboard and you will see if a controller isn't usefull and needed.

So yes it is possible to enjoy the game as a PC player.

Aye, I remember the DAO forums to be more negative at the time. DAI's reception is quite positive overall, when you adjust for the usual negative bias.

One thing I've read multiple places and is absolutely true is the game is slow to get started. It feels like a giant game of side quests. This point became abundantly clear to me when my sister, a Dragon Age maniac who has literally beaten the previous games dozens of times each, said to me early in her playthrough that she was disappointed and liked the other two games better. I spoke to her the next day and she couldn't stop raving about it.

Just give it a little time in the beginning to get going.

I've been reading some things that suggest people get bogged down in the hinterlands and try and do every small quest there when they should leave that area between levels 4-7 and come back to it later on. Might account for some people who feel disconnected from the main plot or that there are too many fetch quests. Sounds like your sister moved on to another area and suddenly the game clicked for her.

I think people who enjoy it never played MMOs. Since if you did, you would grow tired of filler timesinks which is what 80% of DAI content is.

I'm an MMO player, and I lead a guild in one MMO that I play currently.

So, yeah, not so much.  If you don't like exploring in the game, by all means don't.  It's completely optional, similar to many side quests in, oh, I don't know, MMOs come to mind...

Yeah, I feel the biggest problem for some is they think they have to stay in the Hinterlands.  There was an excellent post on reddit about this.  Personally, I'm loving spending my time in the Hinterlands, but for those who are wandering around just lost, it would greatly benefit them to continue with the main story a bit, or go explore other areas (Storm Coast or Fallow Mire are pretty early in the game, though I haven't even gotten to them yet because I love the Hinterlands)

I think I'll stick around myself till 6 or 7. Uncertain where to go after that (Val Royeaux?) but I might try some other areas at that point.

Go to Val Royeaux soon because it will open up quests for other companions, also it's gorgeous.

I'm more or less enjoying it so far, a few things I love and a few things which I like a little less.

The fetch quests so far are getting pretty overwhelming at the moment though.  I don't have a problem with them to a certain extent, but are there any other types of quests out there?  I mean aside from the main quest-line.

Something where we actually interact with the interested parties, not just get the quest, get the stuff/kill the stuff and then bam done?  Something like we got in DA:O or DA2?  I almost thought I had one at one point where I was going to some place where a mage and Templar brothers were meant to be fighting, but instead just found a letter/items and boom quest done?  Every time I think it might lead to something interesting I just get some letter or something and finish the quest....

Still, I'm trying to give it some time....we'll see how it goes.  There's also a few bugs here and there, at one point I couldn't use healing potions, another time I revived but was still counted as dead.  Thankfully a load of save has so far fixed any issues.

I find it ironic that what seems to be holding up some people's enjoyment of the game is the Hinterlands. Starter area people actually want to stick around and play? It can't be so?? Ehe, just makes me think how good this game really is.

Also makes me want  better rig to play it on. Anyone have both the Xbox One and PS4 versions? Which one would you choose?? I'm seriously thinking of one console or the other just for this game, cheaper than upgrading my rig :D

I'm absolutely loving this game and am incredibly impressed with what Bioware have achieved, bringing exploration and freedom together with their wonderful storytelling style, its hard to say when I'll be playing anything else...  I'm playing on PC with controller btw and have not had any problems I don't get too precious about the odd wee glitch though...

If you're still in the Hinterlands but have enough power to progress the story, then my advice is to do so. The Hinterlands are still going to be there and you can dip in to those fetch quests  throughout the game - or even after it - as you see fit (or not). It's pretty easy to glut yourself on the fetch stuff in the starting area and then feel burnt out. Pace it, you can always come back to things :)

PS4 hands down.  The XBOX version looks odd compared to PC and PS4.  Muddy textures and poor lighting according to the reviews and screenshots i've seen.
