Is my rig alright for the game?

Well it's a laptop so I have no idea because they are so picky with heat distribution. If you haven't already make sure to update your video card drivers directly from Nvidia or use their software tool called GeForce Experience.

I have updated it and I do use GeForce Experience. ^^ I'm quite sure it's not heat because I've never had heat issues with my laptop, as I do play other demanding games that get my fan loud (that's how I measure the load, yes yes that's not a reliable way but what do? xD) Another reason why I don't think it's heat is that when I tinker with the graphics the fps becomes amazing for a bit as I mentioned but then goes back to lagging.

650M sounds low end, I've no idea about lappies tho.

When you tinker with the graphics settings you pause the game meaning that your computer gets time to relax. So when you write that you get amazing fps right after the tinkering and then it goes back to lagging it almost sounds like it's an overheating issue. I mean it doesn't mean it's necessarily overheating, but you can download a handly tool called Speccy (from the creators of CCleaner) that will analyze the inside of your computer aswell as heat. So let that sit in the background while playing and once it starts to lag you want to minimize the game and tell me what Celsius or Fahrenheit you have on different components in there.
If they are safe then we can rule out heating, correct? ![]()

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1Processor: Intel® Core i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.3GHzMemory: 16GB RAMGPU: GeForce GT650M 2GB MemoryI know the card isn't that great but I'm having stupid crazy stutter even at low-medium, when I put mesh quality on high (to get rid of the shiny hair) it has a great impact unfortunately. I don't really understand the nature of the lag because when I set it to Automatic it sets texture quality to ultra and almost everything else to medium-low (which I really don't mind) and the fps is great for a little bit but then goes back to stuttering. Also as others have reported alongside the lag there's a ridiculous delay between clicks/commands and when they actually happen (and this isn't helping with how the combat controls are different now).I was hyped as **** and this is just a hardass table I stubbed my toe on, opinions? :/
You are struggling because your graphics card is low-end. This German website made a good write-up. Red = barely playable, Yellow = playable on low or medium, Light Green = runs well on medium/high, Dark Green = smooth on high/ultra

Seems my CPU gets quite hot, 79 to 81 celsius. GPU seems fine though it's just around 68 celsius. I'm surprised at the CPU since the game isn't really hogging CPU usage, it's on right now and my computer works normally. I'll probably be getting a new computer soon so I'm not that worried, any ideas?

No, 79-81 seems fine. It's hot for sure, but the Tjunction for it is at 105 Celsius. So anything at or under 80c is okay. Unless of course the threshold is set lower, so once that hits a certain number of heat the CPU will downclock itself to avoid damage, but this I do not know and is pure speculation. But I think you just have an issue with the game being a douche. I've read up some issues with stuttering and sudden dips in framerate related to the game so this could very well be it. I don't know as to why it does this, but try to play around with Vsync on/off and the fullscreen options.
As a side note you can try to update our computers basic input output system (BIOS) aswell as the chipset drivers. You can usually find these at your computers home website either as a manual download or through a provided tool. Keep in mind that updating your BIOS manually is something you should avoid if you don't know what you're doing.

Thanks for the reply, I got the feeling that it really is the game because yesterday I literally set all the settings to the lowest possible and the lag didn't even change one bit. I've never tinkered with my CPU temperature threshold so I don't think it's downclocking, dunno if this will help but the most recent high-end game I've played is Shadow of Mordor and I can get 60 frames on that with decent medium-high settings at 1600x900 resolution (my native res). I may be a PC gamer but I'm not savvy when it comes to terminology so I kindly request clarification on what chipset drivers are, also I've never touched my BIOS so it might be a bad idea as you said. ![]()

I did not mean to ignore your post, but I'm afraid that chart only shows desktop GPUs whereas my GPU is the GT650M. Thanks anyhow. ![]()
Edit: So I booted up the game and it just seems better than yesterday somehow. I'm tinkering with the resolution and it seems to help a lot, I'm assuming choosing 'Automatic' is auto-detect? Most things are set to medium and one on high and texture quality on ultra. I've worked off of those settings and I've reduced the resolution to 1280x720 (which isn't so horrible) and I seem to have found a solution. ^^

Edit: Just saw your edit and you say you have found a solution? That's good. Yes, Automatic will automatically detect your components and corresponding settings. I hate it in every game because usually the game doesn't detect my PC, maybe because it's so new, I don't know, and sets everything to low. 1280x720 is essentially 720p, if you have heard that term before? Just like 1080p, and it's a good resolution scaling in my opinion.
Chipset drivers is for your, well, chipset on the motherboard. It's basically something that's communicating with your PC parts. If it's updated, aswell as the BIOS, it can communicate better with components like the CPU for instance. A BIOS update will usually resolve compatibility issues. What computer do you have? Is it Dell, Asus? You can use Speccy to identify the PC. Just to have an example for you; I use an MSI motherboard for my desktop PC so I would go to MSI to get my updates. They also have a live update tool that automatically detects and updates my parts. If you feel uncomfortable to update these then don't do it. I usually recommend BIOS updates to experienced users only, but chipset drivers are easier to do, but again if you feel uncomfortable then it's better to leave it as is.
However you can always try defragging your hard drive If you use a regular hard drive (not a solid state drive, you don't want to do that). Defrag it using the provided tool from Windows (open Start and type in search "defragmentation"). This probably wont help though, but you know, it's a basic troubleshoot tip that in some instances actually works.

Thanks for elaborating, although as I was playing earlier the lag did spike again I'm afraid so I just save and quit. I have an Alienware M14x (so Dell), and funny that I'm defragging right now. xD I do however use Auslogics Disc Defrag and not the default Windows one, I like this one because it actually defrags large folders (like games) since I have uninstalled and installed some things recently.

You need to find out what is causing the "stuttering". Have you tried using Resource Manager to check if the stuttering is being caused by your hard drive? Run some HDD and RAM benchmarks/tests and check for SMART failures. If the drive is dying, RMA it or get a new one. If it's just slow, defrag and/or re-install Windows and re-run your tests. Use tools like Memtest, Prime and Furmark to check for CPU/Memory/GPU failures.
Those are just some very basic tips how to troubleshoot issues like yours. Hope it helps.

What sucks with laptops is that they are nigh-irreparable if they start messing up.
I just spent a small fortune on a new laptop that should last me a while, but for the same price I could have bought an even better desktop that can actually be fixed/upgraded if necessary.
Goddamn my mobility.
