"Just once, we should enter a cave and see normal sized spiders." Healing mist is my preferred grenade.Wait, wait. Did you ever go in the tunnels under Cael Bronach? They get pretty big.

So, nobody has modded spiders out of the game yet? At least in Resident Evil, I know the games well enough to know where the spiders are, take out the most powerful weapon in the game (usually a .44 magnum, because the rocket launcher can't really be aimed up or down), and blast the hell out of them ASAP. And in those games, they're usually only in a few areas, and usually those areas are close together. Once they're dead, you're done with them. Bioware seems to love the damn things, though.
How can anyone mod out that gigantic thing known as nightmare?

There are 3 significant spiders in the game:
1. Snowball. Pretty one, pretty big one. Not too tough, drops Healing Mist.
2. The Emerald Graves one. There is a quest that he just suddenly appears out of nowhere and he is very big, almost like the monstrous spider from DA2, that one will scare the crap out of you, but he isn't too tough as well.
3. Quest related one, not truly a spider, but very big and very ugly.
To the guy that said that game tought him to hate bears, I love bears! They drop crit chance crafting materials, one of the best in the game. The only t3 crit chance version I know of is Great Bear Hide.

The second one nearly made me jump because the first time i went there it was night and i had headphones, i was tired and high and was inspecting the camp when the fugger charged me from the hills. Neat little scripting there from Bioware.
The big spiders in the caves at Storm Coast also deserve a mention, especially since your companions' pathfinding fails and you have to face them alone. The torches are placed well inside the cave, so most of the time you're fighting them in darkness. And when lightning flashes and illuminates them it's extremely atmospheric and creepy.

They said they added spiders for scare factor. Can't blame them.

Why don't Bioware ever take us arachnophobes into consideration?
They do take arachnophobes in consideration, they make more and bigger spiders

Nearly had a fit when exploring the bottom area of the Keep in Crestwood. I ran blindly in and suddenly Cole said "so many legs!" and this large furry white spider landed on my head!!!
And the Emerald Graves? *shudders*
The ones in the Forgotten Oasis can rot!

Do they still have the Overwhelm ability that makes them leap up on you and hold you down and pincer your face?

No, they're pretty nice this time around. They spit poison and bite, but that's it.

At least this game doesn't have clowns in it
Uuughhhhhhhhh!!!!! ![]()
If I ever discovered a clown in the game I suspect that I'd uninstall the bastard, and probably burn the DVDs for good measure!
I don't have any issues with spiders, but clowns... ye Gods! Horrid, vile, loathsome avatars of ultimate evil!
