Are load times awfully long or is it just me?

My game takes around 2 and half minutes for loading new zones. It feels very, very long to me. (I'm using a PC)

I don't have one's that long on the PS4, but they do seem a bit lengthy at times.

Yea it's pretty long for me too, it's definitely loading in big chunks of data at once.

edit: on PC

20 seconds tops for me on an ssd. With the next gen here, get used to not using a normal hdd for games anymore

Not that long, but I can feel myself waiting that's for sure , hah. 30 seconds maybe.

I don't find the load times too bad, even on a normal HDD.  Maybe a minute or so when loading a new zone?  Bioware obviously identified the load times as an issue, as you're given content to read and browse through while you wait.

They're a bit long but not THAT long (not 2m+) on my PC with i7 3770k and SSD.

I don't load that much since I tend to stick in one place for a while and at least you only need to load a zone (and not every little building/cave/whatever you enter) - except war room so far.  I like that the world itself is seamless within zones.

I keep my book next to me, lol.

I mean, it's not that long but better to read a few sentences than stare at a loading screen.

I noticed it too. It's not excruciating or anything, but it is a bit longer than I would like. A minor gripe, to be sure, but worth noting.

in a standard HDD its pretty long.. wouldnt be a problem if they didnt replaced the cool tips and lore bits with a black screen and small green inquisition logo in lower right of screen 10 seconds into the loading process.

I figure it's due to huge new areas. It's noticeable, but not too bad, and I have a regular hd.

Luckily, I'm not transitioning too often, because the areas are so big. :)

I've noticed it. It's pretty friggin bad.

I understand that they're loading up huge areas at once, but still, I miss being able to play a game normally on my trusty old HDD.

They are longer than most games I have played on the PS4, but *much* better than Assassin's Creed Unity, which is the first game with "Seriously?!" levels of load times I've played in several years.

Remember ME2 when you had these load times between floor on the Normandy?

Yeah, I get longish load times but thankfully they are infrequent and there is some bit of interactive lore right there on the load screens.  Now that's a cool idea.

If you are like me and are using a more conventional hard drive as opposed to a SSD on a PC, may have longer load times. However, I noted when I started up the game this morning, it was loading faster today than yesterday.

Edit: I'll check again after work and time the loading.

Following up with load times...

Launching the game from Origins: About 1 minute to get to the menu.

Loading a saved game in the Prolog: About 90 seconds.

Exiting from the saved game to the Menu: About 90 seconds.

I did note, however, that after the prolog, load times were not quite as long except for launching the game from Origins.

Also, launching the game from the DA:I icon does not change the load time at launch.

My load times are too short to even read the tips that are displayed on the cards. I'm quite surprised actually.

Load times? What? :P

I am on a brand spanking new machine though, with SSDs.

The load times is very long if you have a weaker to mid-level CPU: it can max up to 95%+ usage during loads - so it's not the the actual load that is long, it's that your computer is stuttering along. An SDD doesn't change that.

Quite why loading is so CPU intensive, I can't say... but I think we can all guess [cough] DRM [{cough].

I thought it was just my processor. Glad to know it's not just me.

I've made delicious three course meals in these loading times - assuming it's not actually the game crashing my entire computer!

On the 360 (the all black models, but not the brand new model) it's about 45 seconds to a min on average.  It wouldn't bother me for loading a whole new area, but it takes this long even on loading a cutscene in the area I'm in.  The first boss in the game, the cutscene leading up to it took about 75 seconds.  This doesn't seem...right.
