Lack of hairstyles I only found 2.
Check out the ones for the male elves, you can tell that none of them were made for them, massive clipping issues..
I was laughing at how many variations of buzz/bald heads there were. Quite the opposite of long-hair which is pretty much nonexistent.
Hopefully they will be able to do something about this. I have a feeling it is more of an Engine/Tech issue with Frostbite and/or the animation system they are using, because I don't believe that they would just intentionally be "against" long-hair styles or even braided ponytails and such. It's like back when Unreal 3 came out and so many characters were Bald.
the whole character creator looks like house of wax :/
Yeah, you just cant create a nice looking main character... character builder is totally awful !!! Did you see any character artists on cghub??? So sad about=(((
OP is correct.
I lol everytime I see a hairstyle thread but then I can't deny I agree with the thread.
Hi Devs!
Thank you for making a great game, i love it.
But I need green hair, could you add that for me? Its for my qunari joker build.
Or give me at least green horns? And also a darker area around the eyes.
Bad photoshop i know:

But damn would he look goood..
Thxxx.
I'm so disappointed with the hair.
Like many others here, I haven't been able to play past the intro because I keep going back in the vain hope of finding something that doesn't look absolutely hideous.
The lack of long hair is one of my biggest disappointments in the game so far.
For me it's not even the lack of long hair... I understand the clipping issue. But if we had GOOD short hair options I would be content. Unfortunately, we don't even have that... at least not for female characters.
As I said earlier, the bad hair is massively distracting for me. Shame. Beautiful game otherwise.

I actually like the chin length one with the heart-shaped swept back bangs. It's pretty and cleanly done (unlike some of the weirdly shaved styles)
I don't start to play until I can make a character with acceptable hairstyle.
I must admit the 'quality' of hairstyles resembles the one in DAO. Pretty shocking when consider the amount of options available during character creation + amount of time spent on creating this game itself. And I agree - face textures are way worse during the game than on first screen while creating your character. Not a big issue to me, still a bit shocking though.
I didn't know the dragon age universe had electric shavers until DA:I..
The hairstyles fit more of a cyberpunk universe then a Dragon Age one..
These hairs are lazier than the stock hairs from DA:O even. I could launch into a huge diatribe of what games have done hair better and how much older those games are and how it was achieved on inferior engines to Frostbite 3.
Theres no point. BioWare is never going to give an inch on the hair issue. They apparently don't want to spend the money paying competent artists to make hair that works with their skeletal rigs...so whatever. If I want pretty I'll play Skyrim I guess. If I want a story, I'll play Dragon Age.
God forbid any game studio ever do both.
Nope.. Electric buzzshaves for all..'
I love the CC but I agree the hairstyles are.. bad... I mean, human females are suppose to be nobles. How come there are so many buzzshaves hair... Do they go to balls like that? I have to settle on the ponytail one, though it is not looking very good from behind..
To be honest, I wasn't expecting good hair, so I'm not shocked I got what I expected: Weird hair... Facial hair especially. Anything that isn't stubble looks odd, and even the stubble looks drawn on up close. That's fine though...
But I've also encountered a bug where everyone's hair turns metallic grey and becomes extremely shiny... Like metal. So, be grateful you aren't me.
dragon's dogma dark arisen's hairstyles options are wayyy "better" than the one's featured in dragon age inquisition by far!

The truly sad thing, though, is they HAD good hairstyles, and they've proven they CAN do shoulder-length ... why get rid of so many good ones?
This is what I'm guessing. They are trying to make us purchase the better hairstyles, later on. It's kind of gross and annoying just thinking about it.
If so, then I hope they bring out a makeover kit which allows me to change my look whenever I want.
Dragons Dogma did that. Was, and am, not happy with that. Should've been part of a free update.
I'm hoping, if nothing else, Bioware will add decent hairstyles with a free update. People could start putting hairstyles on here, and have a poll voting for the ones they want in the game (that are fairly similar).
I'm finding myself confused why Cullen and Varrics hair isn't available, but Solas's is....
Oh WAIT. ![]()
