Hello All,

I am just getting started in the game, but I remember reading back in January that you would be able to capture forts and decide if they would be trade forts, military forts or spy forts. Is that in the game still, or has it been dropped???

I have played the Hinterlands and found a giant fort building but had no option to capture it.

I saw that fort too last night. Or, at least I think we're talking about the same fort - Fort Connor (the one inhabited by templars and named after Arl Eamon's father)? If so, I'm pretty confident that that particular fort is not up for capture.

However, I'd still say that it's safe to assume that capturing forts and deciding what role they play is still very much in the game. Our Inquisition just isn't strong enough to accomplish it yet.  ^_^

It's possible. There's a half-ruined fort in the Hinterlands that's inhabited by a "Cult of Silence" that believes singing the Chant is completely worthless. If you 'capture' them (by doing something rather than by slaughtering the inhabitants), you get a choice in dialog to set the cultists to a new task. It's not as clear cut a choice as 'trade, military, or spy'. The choice is couched in terms of what's happening in the game rather than the meta-categories.

I'm pretty sure there is still options to capture keeps because one of the inquisition perks require you to have captured one. I'm not sure the one in the hinterlands counts, but I believe there is one in

Oh snap. Didn't even know there was a fort down there, ha. And here I thought clearing Connor was an accomplishment.

There are three forts in the game. Not one of them is in the Hinterlands.
