It's supposed to be more like a typical R rated sex scene, not a porn film.

I'd rather see mad orgies abound than decapitations. So if you show the violence, show the intimacy.

It's 2010.
But there are still standards and practices.

They can't show nude sex scenes or it automatically gets an AO rating. That is why games like Indigo Prophecy had it cut out for the U.S. release. They can show nudity(Like in Lost and the Damned when you say the old guy's penis and balls.) and still get a M rating but not show nudity while having sex. I don't understand why but that is how the ESRB works.

Terminator (1984) sex scence was good for its type of genre. If two ME characters were to have sex, it should be like the Terminator (1984).

Too many desperate kids these days... As said previously, it's a game about saving the galaxy, not a porno. If you want sex and nudity and whatever else, go download actual porn, not go to a game for it... Or even better, go out that door on the front of your house into the sunlight and find an actual relationship.
... is this the best argument you people have? Really, it is quite telling that you are okay with showing violence and then censoring a sex scene. ESRB be damned, nothing should be censored, but violence should go long before nudity in any fashion.

Depends on the region. 18 is the most prominent, but there are a few places where "porn" is 21.

go watch some porn if u want to see sex i bet you can find some with mass effect characters if you look hard enough
as long as we don't here about mass effect being the new "hot coffee" im fine
This. Must we have sex constantly? I mean, I was a teen boy once too not all too long ago (I'm only 21, nearly 22 here). But damn, comeon now. Games are meant to have fun, have great story and plot, and kill stuff.
If you want to satisfy other primal urges besides killing hundreds of other living things in full detail, then there are other more appropriate outlets as this quote suggests. If you insist on having sex you control, there are many many dating sims out there or perhaps better yet, real human contact. But then again, the people who are complaining probly dont have enough of that and now we wonder if its coincidence... i think not.
Go have fun and then come back and enjoy a good GAME when you come back.

There are many games that have nudity such as God of War, and that new EA Dante Inferno. I can't see what the big deal is about nudity. I find it amazing the double standard of nudity in video games. I honestly don't care if a game has it or not. When it comes to sex , I just find it funny when it comes to two video games characters doing it. Like GTA's hot coffee. That was funny more than anything else.

That's more or less how the sex scenes in ME1 are. PG-13 movies have steamier sex scenes than ME2. Hell, Uncharted 2 had steamier sex scenes.

Seventeen in the US. Well, in NYS at least. For ME2, that is.

the developers central focus wasnt romance, it was making a video game.
it's more about getting loyalty with your squad than trying to ****
every single last one of them, from all the boards i've seen theres at
