I'm not one of these folks demanding T&A, but it is interesting how After-School-Special the romances are.  It's a Mature rated game but the make out sessions seem pretty T-rated to me.  I'd be interested to hear from someone on the forums or a BioWare lurker with insider knowledge on ESRB ratings and what effect that has on the development process, if any...

What I want from a game is a total experience, especially one in which you are the character. Dragon Age, while decent pre mods, is a far better game with some of the adult mods because it INCREASES immersion. "Immersion" is one of those words that gets tossed around WAY TO FREAKING MUCH.  Not unlike "Emotionally Engaging."

Wtf, no it is not just about "shooting people", it is about creating your own character, mirroring that character after what you want him/her to be, getting engrossed and immersed in the Mass Effect universe, meeting and interacting with tons of interesting and deep characters, having relationships with all these characters, developing who you are in the game, AS WELL AS finding the truth about the Reapers and taking on your enemies.

Having intimate encounters is PART of being immersed in this game and making it feel more mature and more realistic.

did i say it was JUST shooting people? no, but it makes up a much larger part of the game than the romanic SUB PLOT. you can still get immersed and meet all the awesome characters, build meaningful friendships, and even romantic relationships, just because they dont show you doing the deed doesnt mean that you cant get immersed in it

dude, dont call me kiddo, seriously. you don't know how old i am. the new romance scenes are still tasteful. and really? what a great comeback, you wanna talk about maturity when you use a five year old insult along the lines of "IF YOU LIKE SHOOTING SO MUCH WHY DONT YOU MARRY A GUN?" i used that insult in elementary school man. if youre saying you cant enjoy mass effect YOUR WAY because you dont get to see a blue ass and sideboob then dont buy it.

i played KOTOR one and two, and the first mass effect, i get how the game works with your fancy IMMERSION word. what dont you get about the fact that they still do it, after every mission you STILL take the time to build up your relationships and near the climax you STILL have an intimate moment. just because partial nudity is shown doesnt mean its not intimate. have you seen the videos? it's done just fine and works as a good intimate moment.

I understand that you are desperatly throwing the word immersion around to justify uncensored sex scenes.  I'm not sure if that's funny, or sad.  Probably both.  If anyone is honestly incapable of enjoying a game with censored violence or sex, then they need help.  Try reading some books.  The right ones can get fairly descriptive.

i stressed the IS part because you were trying to make it seem like they should remove shooting if theyre gonna remove nudity. the shooting plays a far larger part than nudity. i do the damn "IMMERSIVE" romance plots, its not like i dont enjoy them, because i think bioware does a great job of building both friendly and romantic relationships. YOU keep trying to get the point across that just because theres no partial nudity that the game is no longer immersive, when you probably have seen little to no material. i've watched most of the game being played and from what i've seen and heard it's still a more immersive game than the first, even without GASP partial nudity!

An option to skip the sex scenes would be great, like skipping that epic fail ariport mission in MW2.

The point isnt to go around being master chief as u seem to think. The point is to play your character and immerse yourself in the store you create. Get it yet?

You want to have a ****** while holding down auto fire on your machine gun and listening to slipknot (great band btw) and i want to have games that are mature enough to do love scenes tastefully.
 
And then i will go out on a killing spree because i enjoy that too. What i dont want is for bioware do downgrade their games.

All you have done here is act all superior.  But just to show how pathetic your argument is... i do read, a lot and that is exactly what I am comparing gaming to.  I read sagas like Kushiel's Legacy and see the violence, the love... everything is there and then I play a game and violence is glorified and sex is hidden. A massive part of the world is gone.  That ruins much of the immersion.

If violence is shown, then sex should be shown.

i can't really be considered a kid if i have one of my own...i never said the point of the game was just shooting, i've said over and over again that the immersion comes from building the relationships, not from seeing the sex. sure, i like shooters like halo, CoD, etc, but who doesnt? you gonna flame on me for enjoying shooting in a video game? and slipknot is complete garbage. i dont need to ******, i've got my own woman, youre the one who seems more interested in wanking to a "TASTEFUL AND IMMERSIVE LOVE SCENE"

Your argument is valid, but it's also a two-way street.  None of the people that are screaming about the violation of their right to immersion are thinking of anyone but themselves.  Not that immersion is even the right word for this situation.  Gratification comes closer.

I digress.  The things that pull these silly little skinseekers out of the moment are not at all distracting to me.  In fact, if they HAD been overly explicit, I probably would have had a "WTF!?" moment.

And yes.  I'm from the US.  Take that for whatever you wish.
