Because we haven't invented "violent nudity" yet?

I've seen a SuZe sex scene, that started off good but didn't end so well. The love makin' in ME1 was more intimate. Will we see better love making scenes in me2?

BTW lol

It's 2010 and people still have moral and ethical standards. This is a video game marketed (despite it's rating) mainly towards kids, not an interactive porn dvd marketed towards adults with debased minds.

We need to. Violent nudity is hot.

Blood + Sex = win.

I don`t think they have market power. There is the internet, there is gamestop, how could Walmart even think they could ignore this? The games industry behaves like a **** with millions of dollars in there hands and the internet on there side. Sorry but Wal Mart is nothing, Fox is nothing. The industry believes in them and thats why they have power but real, physical power? There strength comes from believers, not from reality.

@Death Gnomes
Try again, the market is very equally in age, half of the gamers are over 18, so adults and even gamers under 18 play adult games as same as the adults playing "kids" games.

And what`s the issue? Body contact? Nipples? Who under 18 had not seen this already?

Normal movies include sex scenes in where you also can see nipples. That has nothing to do with porn.

I guess video games follow cable TV rules, not movie rules.

Earlier this season  Nip/Tuck (a cable show) had an episode featuring a woman who wanted plastic surgery to look exactly like a Barbie doll. So she wanted her nipples removed.

Pre-operation, they had to drape her and use blocked camera angles. After the operation they just  showed her walking around topless. Because showing the nipple is the foul -- no nipple, no foul.

Silliest thing I've ever seen. Especially since anyone who shouldn't be allowed to see a bare breast shouldn't be allowed to watch that show at all.

Because parents are stupid.

They sit their kids in front of the TV to go read Cosmo and gab to their girlfriends, then become outraged when their 11 year old stumbles on a episode of Cathouse on HBO.

Well, in the areas where Wal-Mart has power you're not going to find a GameStop. You might not find anything else.

Sure, EA could probably get along without Wal-Mart; in fact, I think they sometimes do. But most of the time, it's easier to just go along with them.

I think you`re right AlanC9 but like you said, it`s silly. But even sillier if I think about all of these modern crimes series with freakin open bodies but who cares? Blood and bowels and bones pfff but nipples? OH MY GOD I AM BLIND.
Of course it`s easier for gaming industry to get along with Wal Mart but really, why should they? The real powers lies in the people that have the money and the gaming industry is going to be the largest and strongest entertainment industry on the globe. Who gives a damn on Wal Mart. Even if you don`t have a gamestop or other electronic shops, there is still the post and often you don`t even need to pay the shipment. The industry can make the rules, if they want but they have fear and that`s it. Fear.

Too many desperate kids these days... As said previously, it's a game about saving the galaxy, not a porno. If you want sex and nudity and whatever else, go download actual porn, not go to a game for it... Or even better, go out that door on the front of your house into the sunlight and find an actual relationship.

Some of us have active relationships where we do have sex. But thats not the point. The point is really how our society has become full of taboos about sex compared to violence and language. Also they want to tell a story and have us feel for our characters, half the time the romances seem forced and even if they are flowing well a badly depicted "sex scene" can ruin that emotion. I'm not saying go all out and have a full sex scene where you can see penis and vagina but something more realistic, I mean even in an R rated movie you can get a lot of sex in it. Look at the movies Short Bus, 9 Songs, and others in that genre, they are rated R. yet they tastefully depict sex without making it seem cheap or unrealistic.

The problem comes from a social taboo about sex, and I really think the world needs to wake up. Sex is not a bad thing, it can be abused or cheapened but in the right context even if it is just about the sex, it can be a wonderful thing to express and I think people need to understand this.

I would think that consumating a serious, personal relationship was different than people getting paid to do it with other paid people, but I guess I was wrong.

All sex is porn sex. Thanks for the update.

Remember GTA San Andreas? The game got pulled from retailers shelves and re-rated as adult game.
Not because you could sell drugs, shot cops, mugging and shooting of innocent pedestrian, but because you could download a modification from the internet.
A mod that unlocks a normally inaccessible mini game that simulates sex with your pants on.:huh:

Jeah I remember it very well, this was a black day for the gaming industry. Still I get a headache if I think about this topic. This was so ridiculous, unbelievable.

Maybe Fox news scared them off? I really would have hoped that not.. but yeh does seem like a step back from guys who said "yes" to sex in videogames.

I get the same feeling and Im quite frankly rather disappointed in Bioware for it.

If anything they should have given Fox News and USA Soccer moms the giant middle finger and amped up the sexuality and nudity because of the fake outrage by Fox News.

Bioware keeps saying they would never limit the artistic design of their writers and creators but thats EXACTLY what they did in DA:O and sounds like they did in ME2.

For shame Bioware, for shame.

This is still only rated M, not AO.

It's supposed to be more like a typical R rated sex scene, not a porn film.

R rated sex scenes usually contain an excessive amount of nudity.

if you guys don't like the romance scenes in me2, you can always wait for rule 34 to inevitably be invoked :P

well, no one thinks there has to be nudity in games.
i think the issue is that america is very religious and thus very puritan
there isn't really anything wrong with nudity and censoring it so much is pretty silly
its not like people won't see in real life...while they won't see lots of violence
showing nudity should in fact be much more acceptable that showing violence, because on could argue that violence in videogames cause violence
but you can't really criticize people for showing sex....i mean like...what...it causes sex?
no real harm in nudity, so america is kind of hypocritical....

Well - there's a thread called "It's disgusting" that links to a nasty dance scene that you can get if you really want it - it's pretty porn-arific.

How come a lot of you from the US say: sex = porn?

In Europe we understand that sex may also means making love with somebody.

Do I want to see porn in ME2? No way! Do I want to see two people intimate which eachother? When it's part of the game: yes!

There are a lot of angles BW can put the camera, which show nothing, but will let you use your own imagination to fill in the blanks.

And I live in the Netherlands, where even in a movie about two kittens they are able to get a sexscene ;)
