I recently started playing a character that has Biotic Sphere.

Shortly after speccing it with all the shield/defense enhancement options, it occurred to me that if I had instead specced it with the Enemy damage options that it would be a great way to create a killbox at a map chokepoint.

One concern I have is, if you spec it to Warp enemies, and set up biotic explosions, does a biotic explosion destroy the sphere, or does it stay?

So I'd like to hear from folks with experience using this power. What are your thoughts on speccing it, and how have you used it?

Thanks!

I use it as a killbox. I take size on 4, then I spec it offensively on 5 and 6. Reave > Sphere > Reave will give you two explosions, plus you can Reave anything that walks into it for an explosion. Use Warp ammo on a decent gun and anything in it will just melt away. It's a little tougher to use on the bigger maps, but still helps against single enemies or small groups. I play her very CQC so I'm usually close enough to sprint up and plop it over enemies.

Hi there,

It really depends on your playstyle.  If you want to use the Justicar as a weapons platform and want her to be super tanky, you can set up the bubble as pure defense.

Personally, I like the fully offensive Biotic Sphere.  You can get two detonations if you choose the Warp Effect (6b), as it allows the sphere to prime.

Reave > Sphere (BE) > Reave (BE)

Of course, you also have the option to do a hybrid build.  The greatest thing about Biotic Sphere is that it is flexible, and there's not really just one way to spec/use it, unlike so many other powers in the metagame.

This is my build:

I always spec the bubble for offense (Radius, Enemy Weakness, Warp Effect), and no, detonating a BE on an enemy primed by the Sphere's Warp Effect does not destroy the Sphere- Biotic Sphere has a set duration and disappears either when that time is up, or if you cast the Sphere somewhere else (you can only have one at a time). And as crashsuit says, she can be a real close-range powerhouse- I use Raider with Warp Ammo and Geth Scanner myself; put that bubble over a boss and watch them melt. Very badass on smaller maps like glacier, and still effective on the bigger maps too.

It would've been quicker to type "The Justicar" than "A character that has biotic sphere".

I don't have a lot of MP experience, so I was not aware that the Justicar was the only character that has this power.

Just yanking your chain. It's what I do around here. I suspected as much.

To answer your question, detonating the warp effect doesn't destroy the bubble. I find radius, enemy weakness, warp effect to be the most effective.

Some noteworthy things about the bubble:

-you can use it as a stagger tool - just like reave

-enemies often stumble out of the bubble when it's dropped over them - use walls to trap them

-a quick drop over bosses speeds up killing those units

-goes well with adrenaline and a powerful shotgun

-the bubble doesn't reprime the enemy standing in it

-if you're good in anticipating where the enemies will come along you can pull off a nice killing zone

-I recommend size, enemy weakness and warp - it still gives out a little defensive bonus that can be useful for objective waves

-great for phantoms and dragoons - you just have to wait for them to come close enough

- lazy mode swarmer and bee repellant

- nice colour, cool animation and buzzing sound - Justicars go with style

No, keeping things simple goes against all human nature. We humans need to make things as complex as possible so that there's never any hope... like ME3mp. >_>

Defensive Sphere is too slow and boring to me. You pretty much have to FBWG the game in it. Offensive Sphere with kamikaze tactics coupled with awesome Asari dodge is much more fun (much more dangerours tho)

Agreed.

On topic, full offensive is the best (and the most fun) : radius, enemy weakness, Warp effect.

The defensive bubble took a big hit with the introduction of Bombers, Dragoons and the entire Collectors faction. The Warp evolution is now even more of a no-brainer, and without the Allied Protection evo the other two defensive evos are much less useful.

Politicians disagree, and they collectively rule the world if you think about it.

Our governing bodies have entire sections exist just to overcomplicate things. Thus, humanity overcomplicates things.

I pooped in the toilet today. It kinda looked like Jesus.

Damn. Now that I think about it, I should have scooped it out and sold it on eBay.

Lesson learned. I'll remember this next time I poop something that resembles another fictional character...

Always spec the bubble for offence, use a power amp 3/4 and keep a low cooldown so you can spam and stack Reave.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

I'll be re-speccing my Justicar this evening to give her an offensive Biotic Sphere.

I really don't have any good weapons. The best weapons I have that leave we with a reasonable cooldown is a Katana X, and an Indra I. I also have a few Sniper Rifle Amps.

FBWG?

Thanks again!
