How does the Friendly Fire setting work? Does it apply only to spells? Does it apply to the AoE damage that each swing with a 2-handed weapon does?

If a spell description like "Winter's Chill" says that now Winter's Grasp will damage "nearby enemies" as well, does that mean with Friendly Fire on that using Winter's Chill will damage my nearby melee attacker as well?

Just trying to get clarification before I go start spending skill points.

Thanks

Since when were members of your party 'nearby enemies'?

Well, if you do take that talent and have friendly fire on, your party members do get damaged if they're close enough to the target from what I notice. So I guess they count as enemies since now?

FF is for all AoE attacks, I guess. I can confirm it for spells.

Great, thanks for the info. What about physical attacks though?

For clarification... does that involve the normal aoe with every swing of a two handed weapon (NOT using special attack)

My question would be: is the Friendly Fire option also affecting the enemies? I mean if an enemy sorcerer e.g. is damaging also his companions with this enabled setting?

Not AFAIK. At least I haven't seen this yet.

Can friendly fire be turned off?  In the other DA's it was tied to difficulty level.

Yes. It can be turned on or off regardless of difficulty.

It is always off for enemies (it was always on in the first two games).
