I have no idea why there isn't any customization for the character models, colors or anything. Just a dumb decission.

I wasn't as bothered as by the attractiveness (or lack of) by the characters but the picture for the necromancer looks so goth and dark and in game she kinda just looks like a chantry priest with the head gear and the not black clothes.

They are pretty bad, no question about it.

The characters are low-detail for performance reasons, I suspect.

The Character facial models and hair options could use improvement, the armor looks I'm quite fond of (with exception of the Arcane Warrior who looks like Gold Member from Austin Powers with that Gold Jumpsuit)
This seems to be my one major irk with Bioware games, female characters never have any decent long hair options, while understandable for a "Warrior" archetype that they would wear their hair short, why would a mage? a Ranger?
I'm waiting patiently for a solid community hair mod that'll give us some good long hair options for single player, while holding on to hope that we get long hair added to multiplayer.

Yeah, my AW was my first mage to get T2 amor (except Keeper which I found in a box. Coincidentally, that's also where my Keeper resides, so it was fitting) simply because I hated the default AW gear. It made me feel like I was an extra in an LMFAO music video.

Wish we had the ability to design our own character for each class.

Thx to the lowtier consoles like Ps3 or X-Bix360, we never become such basic stuff.

Now we need some modders to come and fix this but i dont think it will happen for a while if at all... because supposedly running an anti-modifcation program...

Why I'm hoping Bioware takes it on board and gives us some sort of customization for multiplayer, or at least fixes the models to be closer to their art.

Agree, the options available now for multiplayer and models are horrendous.

I don't think it's just that. They can modify their characters just fine in singleplayer. They could have given us SOMETHING atleast. Like in Mass Effect 3 multiplayer you could change the colour of your character and pick their names. But to be fair, I wish the mp would allow full customization. I don't think the older consoles are an obstacle when it comes to this.

I think they'd look a lot better if they didn't all have permanently infuriated facial expressions.
Obviously it would be nice if the characters looked like their card art too, but I'm not sure how feasible that would be. Keep in mind a lot of those designs would need new assets (Outfits, possibly hairstyles for some) if they were to resemble their card art, and that is not a trivial ammount of work to accomplish. It's a safe bet that if they had the resources, time, and manpower to get that done before the game's release, they would have. That they reused so many existing assets indicates to me that they did not, so I would reccomend being considerate of that before accusing Bioware of rushing and/or being lazy. Still, I do hope for a multiplayer art update as part of the game's post-launch support, especially for the Keeper and Necromancer since their cards look so awesome and their in-game representations leave a lot to be desired.

I agree completely.
Also, the haircuts are androgynous. Some or all are the same for male and female.
The faces I've made for my single player 'Keepers' (I have multiple female elven mages in addition to random humans) have both caracter and beauty.

I'm happy with the faces I've made. Why no love for the Keeper?

The MP females are some of the most unsightly I've ever seen in a video game. I don't know if it was laziness in creating them, or some kind of attempt to be PC with more 'natural' or 'realistic' women but whatever the reason it horribly failed. The most unappealing real human women look like beauty queens compared to some of these abominations. This is a fantasy game, nobody wants to play on or be associated with these grotesque monstrosities we've been presented with. Come on Bioware.

Wow. Yeah it sucks that the characters don't resemble their awesome Tarot Cards, but jeez its not that abysmal. I mean, that's what people look like (as much as a video game of this scope can accomplish). You guys are taking it like a personal insult that these characters aren't 'supermodels.' ... Templar/Belinda is pretty to me... That's what Neria looks like. That's what Argent looks like. That's what Rion looks like. That's what Cillian looks like. Just like any real human being; if you don't like the way they look, that's your problem.
I 100% don't get what the problem is.

The Necros face looks manly, the Keepers hair is a crew cut and Argents improved armor should have the mask on her face, not weirdly glued to the back of her hood

Or at least don't make the cards misleading about what we can expect from the class in question.
Necro and Keeper were a massive let down for me; especially T2 keeper armour, it feels more like a downgrade than an upgrade.

Yes. And?
"Should have" and "I would prefer" are wildly different concepts. Please consider the wildness of the differentiation. Quato once said: "Open your miiiiiind."
...I wrote all this stuff and I'd hate to delete it, so I wont:
I just want people to understand that: Because you don't like something, it doesn't mean the thing or the creator of that thing is an incompetent demon-spawned abomination. Also, the use of the term "fix" subconsciously implies that something is unusable. Stop using it interchangeably with 'change' or 'revise' or 'alter' or etc., etc., etc., etc.
P.S. To the person who said Cassandra was fugly. What? I'll take it as more unnecessary exaggeration because we're on the internet. No, she isn't a sexy girl. Yes, she is a beautiful woman.

Honestly?
I think the biggest problem is that it looks like all of the characters haven't eaten enough fiber. Just look at those faces!
Then look at the faces of the people we have to escort...call. Expressionless...all the time...like they were having a nice picnic and are still fantasizing about the delicious ham sandwiches and the nice, chilled, strawberry lemonade.
If the characters looked Calmer when not in combat, It'd be an improvement IMHO...even if we're not here to gawk at our characters unlike in SP. ._ ."

Here is Cassandra

Here is Mansandra

And here is my frown-face Bearfighter (she didn't want to be in the game, suicided to first bear she saw) I made with da3's CC that took 5 minutes, so obviously its not impossible to make actually elfish looking faces. In fact I think it must've taken a lot of effort to make the keeper's face... dear god.
