Does anyone know if Shadow Strike in the Subterfuge Tree may be used at ranged or if it is a melee only move?

From testing last night, it appears to be melee range only. That is, it'll still work if you have a bow, but you're basically clubbing people over the head with it (!). So, not that great for an archer.

Its good as peel ability, extra cc , shatterer and CD decrease in one. I use it on pre-skyhold builds which have max 3 points in DW and must be ranged for a fight. Its melee ability, but can be used on pre-skyhold rogues who do not spec too much into weapon trees. This is good for Mk rogues who spec pure subterfuge. (Future tempests), and work like 2 and cc just located after 1st one on the tree.
After skyhold its golden on DW tempests. Ranged also can do it because of benefits its fofi spam can provide but there much less synergy.

Its good:
In any pre-skyhold builds (which are good actually, and proved themselves in duo/solo) which make emphasis on CC and utility and do not commit into weapon-specific trees - example is full subtrefuge tree build with only maximum 3 points in DW tree (Flank Attack+, TF)
Any post-skyhold DW tempest - is a must
On ranged tempest - it can be useful, but there much less synergy than it have for melee.
Other specs DW - its optional.
