hello guys! im just trying to figure out what this blue bar that sometimes appears and then fades means,is it a cooldown or something?

 

I have looked in the game manual and also in the forums but can´t find anything about it. If anyone knows what this bar is, it would be awesome.

It's barrier. Mages can cast it on their companions. When you get hit with barrier on you, the barrier takes damage instead of your health.
