I didn't think they would, but then some of the elfroots I thought I had already harvested are starting to come back?

Elfroot and iron seem to be respawning.  I've harvested the same iron nodes quite a few times.

Thus far all the resources respawn. However, some rare resources will only sometimes respawn in certain locations (e.g. Royal Elfroot in Crossroad), but in other places they are guarenteed to respawn (e.g. Royal Elfroot in the higher level West Road in Hinterlands).

 

It's both joyrous and tortorous. I'm compelled to collect everything I see... So many Elfroots...

Not only that. They respawn simply over time as well. You can stay in the same general area and the resources will start respawning offscreen.

Given how often they end up respawning in my game the whole area should be full of elfroots. At least its not as bad as DA:2. I laughed hysterically when I saw how large some of those mineral sources were. Plants you can at least grow more of
