I mean honestly I always dreaded the driving missions in Mass Effect because the controls were so goofy.
Did anyone else HATE the Mako in ME1

and if you hit anything going fast you would be stuck in the wall for like 10 agonizing seconds with people shooting you

or randomly flipped upright and all that bull. Agh I hope that part gets fixed.

Or have really really crappy accuracy? Have the damn target zoomed and in the crosshairs and the ammo go clear over. Though, the jump was fun

ya until you would randomly barely hit lava and die or careen over a cliff for no reason.

or run over the newly killed collosus during the geth killing side quest and do 20 flips with it stuck to your mako

haha ya I remember doing that. the only thing I liked about it was running over your enemies.

haha running into a geth or merc and watching them fly 40 feet and hit a mountain and bounce, awesomeness

a lot of people did, which is why the Mako isn't in the second game. I didn't hate driving with the Mako so much, but I really hated fighting in it (which mad Thresher Maws even more terrifying).

The Mako was VERY complicated to control, ESPECIALLY at top speeds.
I found that using the boosters helped though.

I used to get SO INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATED with the thresher maws and the mako. I'd die over and over again. Untill I realized it's a joke if you just stand still and jump over the poison spit. Trivialized every encounter afterwards.
Absolutely hated the Mako.

I fail to understand what the problems with the Mako were. I got stuck ONCE in 7 playthroughs, on a slab of rare elements or something, and the only planets that gave me trouble were the ones with excessive amounts of mountains. Also, the main cannon has pinpoint accuracy (hint, it's not an insta-hit weapon, AIM AHEAD OF THE TARGET if you're moving, it's common sense), and steering is perfectly fine.

Im hoping for a change from tanks to some form of gunship for the ME3 vehicle combat.

No, I loved it.
Taking down Thresher Maw on insanity without being hit was epic.

I was okay on PC, but I hated it on Xbox. For some absurd reason, you always had to have the the turret pointed forward or the vehicle would refuse to respond.
On both platforms it's not hard to avoid being hit though, you just go round in circles....

It wasn't so much the mako, it was the terrain.
Would it have killed them to throw in one flat planet? They were all varying degrees of sheer cliffs. I guess the mako wasn't really so bad.
Although I did once hit something invisible on the Feros Skyway and spiraled off to my death.

I had Np problems with driving the Mako. I play mass effect on PC.

I disliked how the Mako couldn't plow straight up the side of a mountain. On my first playthrough, I spent more time navigating the terrain and trying to get out of the huge pitfalls than I did the actual events on the planets.

That's the best news I've heard all week! Hated the mako. Blows up too easily, and a nightmare to steer at speed.

It's much easier to traverse the slope rather than just plough on straight at it. This makes it it possible to scale VERY steep cliffs, it just takes a little longer.

Loved the Mako... you just aren't using it right.
My strategy was to line up perpendicular to my opponents and point the gun at them. Cannon and gunfire... blam blam blam. When the big vollies from the opponents were coming in (nice of them to be so slow...), I'd move in reverse to dodge it. Blast some more... another incoming shot... move forward.
This strategy can be enhanced by dodging around obstacles, etc.
In essence, it played like Space Invaders, only the invaders don't move much.
My only gripe was getting less XP per kill, so eventually I stopped using the Mako even when it would have made life easier.
