Umm, no. And after playing ME2 I LOVE Mako in ME1.
Did anyone else HATE the Mako in ME1

The terrain is what made it a lot less fun. I got tired of navigating steep cliffs.
Also, it drove like a pig. I felt like I was trying to drive a mechanical bull when I got stuck in a tight spot.

I really like the Mako in ME1. Just wish you could see inside the Mako, toggle view like in Crysis.

Once I got used to it, the Mako wasn't as bad as I'd initially feared. At times, it was actually fun, bouncing along, imagining my team being all shook up inside. My biggest complaint about the Mako (aside from navigating certain peak-y mountain ranges) was the camera. Very often, usually when I was on a mountain peak, the camera would slide up under the Mako, making it impossible to figure out which way to steer. This also happened when I wanted to scout an area. Instead of being able to look off into the horizon to plan my route, the camera would sneak up under the Mako's butt. Not very helpful. It's a camera problem, not a Mako problem.
And why could the Normandy drop the Mako (presumably a drop of several miles) and have it land without damage, but if I drove it off certain cliffs, it was instant game-over? Heh I guess it doesn't have to make sense. That's just the way it is.

i liked the mako, the ability to sniper shoot things from a long distance was priceless. it did take some getting used to and skill to drive.
- plan your route when you can, it can be easier to take a longer way around than over that steep terrain
- when you go up even a small hill slow down when you reach the top before you go airborne
- if you are in the air dont keep accelerating
- dont attack front on. take a shot . move to the side a few metres, take another move back

The real problem I had was that a lot of the maps for the Mako were poorly designed and forced you to drive up sheer cliff faces and try to get over bumps and crags while at an 85 degree angle. It was also boring to drive accross empty wasteland for x minutes to get to one of the 3-6 objects of interest on the map.
I didn't mind the combat except the shields took forever to regen.

The Mako itself is awesome. People just didn't like the planet maps, which is fair enough.

The mako was fine from going from A to B it brought the world alive...but to fight in it and make it entire levels...was terrible. I'm glad bioware got rid of it in the second game.

Driving Mako through uncharted worlds... kinda felt it wasted my time.
Hopefully we dont get to see it as much again.

I wouldn't say hate. I really wanted 2 more gears though, one low for climbing and one high for fast cruising long flat distances. The jump jets could have been adjustable, negating the need for additional gears as well. It does get a bit tiresome after a while though.

When I first got into the Mako I hated it. Took me a while to get used to the controls. I kept driving off the bridge when I was trying to turn. After I got the hang of the controls thou I started asking myself "Why did they take this out of ME2? This is pretty damn fun and adds a depth to the game that ME2 is lacking"
It really does add a bit more context to be driving around a larger area than just walking through a base. I mean cmon if you have the DLC for the Normandy Crash Site and you have half a brain your saying WTF? A ship that blows up in space isnt going to all come crashing down in walking distance of each piece on a planet!
I heard they are planning to add a vehicle for ME2 thou so heres to hoping!

The Mako could have better handling, but I think the bland planet design and the horrible mountain ranges are worse.

I loved it, love bouncing along in it, love launching myself off high cliffs and hitting the boosters to make it do crazy cartwheels, loved imagining all the passengers in the Mako yelling at Shepard, loved fighting in it (like others said, just broadside your enemy and move back and forth), loved everything about the Mako. Still do.
Interplanetary Grand Theft Auto
Was very disappointed when it died on Citadel. That made me a sadpanda.

Loved the MAKO. It was hilarious to scoot around in, and to drive Geth over with.
