I am just having a hunch that we are 'probably' shouting for no reason(s) because no amount of persuasion and/or lament and/or request and/or discussion will make the devs pay heed to any of our concern(s), apart from those which are purely technical in nature (like FPS, loadtime optimization, DirectX issues, audio fixes.

"Removing the conventional follower tactics", "click to move/interact/use/loot/attack", "cranky tactical view", "health management", "story & characters" -- the way I perceived these are not bugs (which can be repaired/patched), these are fundamental design flaws (which, I am quite sure, stemmed out while reinventing the wheel). And why am I getting a vibe that this time too the designers/devs are gonna stand by their "artistic creations"!! Sounds familiar?

The only shining marvels in the Inquisition are the scores composed by Mr. Trevor Morris. An absolute work of serene magnificence!!! I really feel sorry for the gentleman.

As long as my knowledge is concerned (which is quite limited), I have never heard of an "open world" without day-night cycles (or for that matter, changing seasons)

I can no longer remember the "Dragon Age", I knew. It's just an empty shell. Seems like the devs used necromancy to create something that was never meant to exist in the first place - stuffing lots of putrid and obnoxious materials in the inside but wrapping the whole abomination in an apparently gorgeous corporeal form. At some point, the smell gonna put me off, if not the whole thing starts falling apart sooner!

These are the main things bugging me that I would love to see patched in.

1. Let the tactical camera zoom out further to allow a decent view of the battle.

2. The ability to lock frame rate at 30. My frame rate seems to fluctuate between 45 and 60 depending on what's happening. Would love to just get a solid locked 30.

3. Fix the mouse and keyboard controls or at least don't deactivate them when I use a 360 controller. Would like to quick save when using a gamepad.

4. Add a mirror or something like in da2 so I can tweak my character's face without starting a entire game over.

I have to agree about the hair. Seriously just because Hipster is sweeping the world with their "Indy" vibe, doesn't mean I want to have 18/20 Hairstyles be hipster....also one of the dumbest things ever is making the hair unisex....seriously it's not hard to make hair for both genders.....if you have to hire Pineappletree or Coolsims, they had better hairs out on the modsites within 2 days of a games release. And they were still better looking.

*Edit*: Also, companion specs.

This is how it should have been.

Cassandra: Seeker, not Templar

Blackwall: Grey Warden, not Champion

Solus: Keeper/Dreamer not Rift Mage

How could you possibly pass up a chance to make companions unique?

Sorry, but I am glad they didn't (note: I would take "unique" if they start with one specialisation and can take on another - it allows you flexibility, while still having something "unique" (note: I'd want the unique trees they have to be pretty small - otherwise it ends up with min-max-players always taking the same companions...hell, I almost do that ATM already...for example: I almost never take Bull because I have him specced two-handed-weapons and he can't really tank like that (he takes tons more damage than Cassy and Blackwall do))

greetings LAX

ps: That's exactly the gripe (well, one of many) people had with DA2 - that the companions were "unique" enough, that the best tank was Aveline easily (the others didn't come close!) and the best healer was Anders (not even a heal-specced PC could keep up with him -.-)

pps: The hairstyles may not be all that great, but them being unisex is acceptable IMHO (at least if they offer really feminine ones alongside the male looking ones...hell, I myself love being able to make a real tomboy-pc and such a character IMHO needs a male looking hairstyle!)

I would love to throw tomatoes or foul eggs... I hoped so much for another Dragon Age Origins, but i did get another Dragon Age 2

Maybe bricks would help (got enough of them lying around in my Skyhold...shouldn't the place be fixed as you play? - There's still roofs with holes in them, walls that don't look all that stable and have holes, too etc. :( (yes, I already upgraded the hold - twice even - and no, there's still the wall before the war-room that has a "sun-roof" -.- would want that fixed and the other damages, too!))

I hear that throwing them releaves anger like nothing else - the sound of shattering glas is music to the ears :D ^^

greetings LAX

The transition to the Frostbite engine likely caused a lot of 'crossroads' moments where they had to decide to stick with tradition or make something new (and distinguish themselves in the process).

Here is a quote from August 30, btw. Tyler Lee

yep.  Holding both LMB & RMB = W.   It's based on our previous titles mouse and keyboard behaviour.

So who wants to take a guess what happened here?

I would like them to do something about the two loading screens. Why is there a loading screen where you can read codex entries, then after it another loading with just black screen? Why not just load with the codex one so I can finish reading then proceed to playing.

Honestly, I wasn't bothered by anything else in the game beside that.

I hope they will at least ''try'' to optimise this game especially for PC, DAO was really good game, the tactics, camera, and PC controls was so much better even if not perfect. In DAI we have: 8-12 potion limit.. No healing mages.. No specialization for followers.. I can't talk with my companions when I want it like in DAO or even DA2 have some sort of ''speaking with followers'' when we was on mission. And 99% of side quests is worst than in Skyrim or MMO's... But overall DAI is still a good game (main story), but technical problems and huge ''castration'' of many elements from older game kills it for me  :(

I've already posted some of my issues elsewhere on the forum in regards to controls, but there's more in regards to something that could be added as well as a bit of feedback on something else.

I like to navigate through my inventory with my keys rather than my mouse but all I can do is go up and down through the list I'm currently in. I never, ever like to look through the "All" selection because it just confuses me when I am trying to weigh up all the items and see which is best. I would prefer to be able to just press left/right to go through them all and then up/down to check. It would be nice if there was an option within the inventory to check so that we can hide the items that don't get used by the character we're currently on. I know they're shown in red if they can't be used, but I would prefer to have them hidden so I don't even have to see them. I would get to them again and again when I check each class of character. There's really no need for that.

Edit: It'd also be better if the item that each character has on, isn't showin within the inventory as well when trying to compare items. I'd just like to look at all helmets, swords, shields etc.... together that that particular character can use. It'd be good if we could also use the movement keys when looking at our levelling system as well. I could go down and sideways in the list, then quickly go back up to the groups and cycle to the next character. I'm just able to do that a lot faster with keys than my mouse.

It would also help if there was a "Move to sell" tab as well in the inventory as well. Right now, I saw there was a "Move to valuables" one, which I wouldn't use it for that particular function. As soon as an item in my inventory is less powerful than what I'm using, I feel there's no sense in keeping it. So far, I've moved these items to the valuables instead. I'd feel it'd be better because it means I cycle through less when trying to weigh up the pros/cons on a few similar weapons. Also, we should be able to look at what's in the valuables when we're not at a shop, just in case we change our mind. I found I had to sell it to a shop and buy it back, as I haven't found any other way to do so.

And what's with the glowing hair? It's like they're all doing an advert for a brand of shampoo. Also, speaking of hair, I noticed a bit through a character's ear before. The girl near the start that has a candle on what she's writing on, it could be seen through her head inside of her ear. Not sure whether that can be fixed or is bothered about. It just stood out to me with how shiny it is.

they want to neuter the series to make it more friendly for people to get them started playing the series, to quote a youtuber if you are want people to start playing a triology series with the last game in the series you are doing it wrong

for all the faults that is DA2, at least my mouse hand doesn't cramp from playing it like DAI

You've probably heard this already:

I can believe there's 80 hours of playtime in this game... with 10 hours of actual gameplay. Wandering monsters, pointless resource gathering to move the plot forward, story stretched so thin you can see through it.

This is an MMO, and the only reason that it's not an MMO is that 80 hours is tiny content. There's a ton of crap that should have been cut out or simplified because most of this stuff I don't care about, and I don't want to wander around a few hours before I get to the stuff I care about.

Three words: I'm an '''adult'''. If I wanted to play an MMO, I'd play WOW. But I don't.

Remember the resource gathering in Mass Effect 2? I'm sure you remember what the patches did - oh, yes, make it less necessary.

I only care about the story. That's it. I don't want to walk around hours finding stuff in an area then have a character moment for a few minutes then move on. Dragon Age Origins may have had a lot of walking around, but it was never WANDERING around. There was a goal to do, and maybe a few extra stuff that could be done along the way in each major area. In this game, it's nothing BUT searching for stuff. Logging camps, etc.

This is a game cheat codes were made for - skip the idiotic stuff and go straight for the good stuff. There is something to be said about linearity. The more garbage you put in for a player to do, the less focused the main plot is. That's why I've only finished ONE Elder Scrolls game (Oblivion). I'm beginning to run out of patience and am ready to quit. Or at least use console commands to just get the uninteresting crap done.

It'd be good if there were no hard-coded keys in this game as well. I'm told to press Control when some things pop up on the screen. But I don't play with WASD, so I find it rather annoying. I thought it meant the Control by my hand at first.

Also, I'm not sure what everyone's issue is with the tactical camera. If it's the controls within it then I can understand, but I'd prefer it if it zoomed out at an angle that wasn't directly above my head. You could see everything much more clearer that way instead, and I have to do it each and every time.

Its a serious waste of money for any proper RPG gamer, and I put that across all platforms not just PC. I put a post up earlier but I'll say it again, it comes across as a My First RPG game, designed by a third rate modder.

The sheer amount of awful design and control decisions is utterly baffling to me. It's a shell of a game, a sorry shadow of its former DA:O days and even, dare I say it, DA2 which although I played to completion was itself a far stretch from DA:O.

I just wished I'd held off and visited some forums first. I'd have never bought it in this state. If you're currently enjoying games like Divinity OS or Wasteland 2, even accepting this is more action oriented, please for your own sanity, just avoid it until Bioware make a statement or two on what their next steps will be. It could be patched up into a better state but I have a feeling that, sadly, PC is right down at the bottom of their priority list now, so I just don't expect to hear we'll get a PC-specific development team to bring it up to a workable state.

Awful. They could have done so much more with this. I was so stoked when I heard they were using Frostbite.

Gutted.

A big part of the problem are the controls, as they're horrendous, but the whole thing comes across as cobbled together. It just doesn't feel like a complete feature.

Besides the awful pc controls & clunky, awkward, tedius & slow combat;  most keys I can't bind or the game stops running, tac camera issue, options most of time revert to default after exiting game and restarting,  the character sizing seems off, health bar of enemies is too hard to read.

They have managed to put everything I hated from Skyrim (boring quests, clunky tedius combat, awful Inventory& interface, enemys kneel down & cower in terror when close to dying;  loss of focus on story, characters I couldn't care less about- including mine) and managed to take eveything out I loved from DAO, DA2: Fun fantastic combat, excellent story and character, amazing graphics, deep imersion in the story, character and world.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is Skyrim 3: the Thedas version.

And sorry to complain  but I was so looking forward to getting back into the world and so far I am so disapointed.

Bioware put out so many amazing games and the employees always do such a great job - its such a shame.

On the respawning issue: I think the fact that enemies respawn is actually realistic. It's not like "Oh, I just killed these three bears in this area, they are all dead now and this area is safe!" If you go away and come back, new ones will come back in. And it's not like DA II where you are in the middle of combat and waves continue to come either.

I've also found that you can avoid the enemies that "respawn" fairly easily. I often will see my cursor light them up and run right past them anyway if I'm in a hurry to get some place. If you don't bother them, most of the time they won't bother you. And I like that. Much as I loved Origins, the fact that I could play through the Deep Roads and then return later and run through the entire map without an enemy encounter always kind of took me out of the game a little.

ETA: I would love a DLC similar to the Black Emporium with a mirror to alter our appearance too. I'm completely happy with the way my character turned out save for the eyeshadow. Make-up appears a lot darker in the CC than it does in game.

My experience isn't at all like that. One example was a ruin, where a sellsword was fighting two templars. Took them out, searched the ruin, scanned and found some herbs closeby (literally 5 seconds walk), went back to the ruins and the same sellsword and two templars, or rogues or whatever they were, were fighting each other again.

Literally within 10-20 seconds, and with me being well within viewing distance, the encounter had reset.

Yes, OP, you laid out the issues well!

Even just enabling auto-attack would help tremendously. Players can cycle through characters, watching how the battle unfolds, without interrupting the character actions.

Without a useful tactical view (i.e., one that actually allows you zoom out to see the entire battle area and hides obstructions such as trees), the best a player can get is the ability to cycle through the characters and see the battle from their viewpoint.

Here's hoping BioWare hears the feedback and corrects the tactical view and gameplay, along with the click-to-move, click-to-loot, and auto-attack.

This is where we - players - differ like ying / yang. I loved the feeling of safety while running in Deep Roads that I previously cleared as every group was a decent challenge on nightmare difficulty. The thought of undertaking that several times horrifies me.

Not mention the fact that I also have life - I am working (have to as old fool), studying along the work during weekends and besides that I do some sports. The reason I am telling you this is that I really can't afford to spend hours of clearing the same road over and over. I have passed 27 hours of ingame time and besides prologue I cleared half of hinterlands and recruited Red Jenny, Vivienne and Blackwall. That ain't much. I admit I really read ALL codex entries (except for songs) and that takes really lot of my time but I still think I could be elsewhere without having to fight over and over the same groups of baddies.

Just as someone wrote below your original post - I clear a group of outlaws (takes some time and potions as well) and before I even finish them a group of Mabaris and one bear join us in the process. Once I kill it all and want to loot bags and collect herbs, I have to fight a group of rogues in 5-15 seconds after I started looting. This is insane as it means you either travel the world with 1hp on all characters or run back to the camp. The respawn is fine if you actually leave the area and go back later that day or fast travel back and forth but not like this.

Well I do have an issue with the controls (especially the hard-coded ones, of which there's only a few) but I've had less issues with the controls in this compared to most games. It's mainly the mouse that I have an issue with. I couldn't use any side buttons. I had to resort to using AutoHotKey so that I could bind auto-run to my wheel. I just don't like doing that outside of the game because the more keys I have to change, the more that's interfered with when I use the internet during any playing. I often find that some games don't allow me to even use the arrow keys or Enter at all, this one didn't stop that. Just the mouse and the left control (so far).
