Most complaints are done by people who love to complain. Those that enjoy the game don't bother. Given that gamers are not clustered in one location, seeing complaints "everywhere" is natural.
A large number of problems are
1) Game crashes: largely attributed to the user not updating their driver or installing properly
2) horrible preset controls: can be fixed with some tinkering
3) fetch quests: optional content that only offers extra content compared to its predecessors. present in all RPGs
Then there's the amount of irrational hatred towards Bioware and EA, which leads people to criticize every little fault.
Of course I'm not saying the game is perfect either. There's bound to be bugs in any software release. No game is immune.
The complaining is simply over the top. I'm not even writing these posts to defend Bioware. I'm more irritated that people are letting themselves get pissed over nothing...and yes I have yet to see anything resembling "game breaking" in any thread.
Seems to me that you never got to experience Dragon Age Origins being played in hard mode on the PC. It was glorious! I have had no game crashes so far, with 24 hours played, and also don't mind the fetch quests. However the controls are a big problem, and no, those haven't been fixed, at least not yet.
I'm also enjoying the game alot, and also complaining about the controls, as this isn't going to be a game with mods like Skyrim, so players won't be able to fix stuff from the get go, like they did with Skyrim.
I also believe like you said, that the controls problem can be fixed easy and fast by Bioware if they want to, yet it coming out the way they did, shows the "focus" on PC was just for graphics, not controls. Gamepads get to walk, keyboard and mouse needs to run everywhere? and Tactical camera and tactical mode was indeed far superior to this in Dragon Age Origins, and it wouldn't have been that hard for them to make it like it was in Origins... yet they didn't.
