Suggestion For PC Version Only:
Alright, so I was experiencing some pretty bad audio distortion after the recent Nvidia driver update. Suttering, lagging, an electronic-sounding burrrr sound; all of that. It was pretty serious and was making it hard to play.
Here's what I did to fix it.
1) Open Device Manager in the Control Panel
2) Open "Sound, video, and game controllers."
3) See if you have multiple Nvidia High Definition Audio entries.
4) If you do, begin disabling them, one by one. Have some music playing in the background. The goal is to turn off as many as you can. (I had 4; had to leave the 2nd one active to get any sound. Yours may be different.)
5) Once you've done this, restart your computer, confirm you still have audio, and load the game. No guarantees; but it completely solved my issue, so its worth a try!
