By "Low Cost" change, I believe he means easily implemented and probably won't cause issues elsewhere

im sure you can define "Cost" whatever way you want...money its at the end what "cost" ALWAYS means

but mind me now...the key word here is not "cost" but "low" or "high"

Low/high cost can of course infer budget.

In dev terms low cost usually refers to meaning short or low risk development, least impact and risk to current or other areas of code. High cost also covers complex tasks (where high clearly can have significant budgetary implications too) multiple considerations that may impact other coding tasks/areas - Perhaps uncertain results where there may be a high risk/impact/cost on development time (man hours) and the end result may not be justified. Hope that made sense?  ;)

True they didn't, but if you read Allan's posts from the dev team here, you would have realised that to the dev team the game is peachy, they don't' see ANY problem with PC controls or cameras....which is sad by itself. Which means as well that we probably will never see any patches correcting this. It's also been 2 weeks now with no information on what are they going to fix in patches. Unity had 2 patches first 2 weeks, Far Cry as well.

And I am sorry but this game is so broken on PC, with so many bugs without counting the UI/control/camera that if it was actually made by PC programmers they should have seen months ago they would need patches. And started working back then.So there is no excuse for not having COUPLE of patches by now not to mention 1.

first, its (early) 10 days and not 2 weeks.

second, just because they say they didnt see a problem with the controls (which they didnt in this way) doesnt mean they will not change/improve it. they know players are not pleased with it and its very likely they address the problem in a patch.

again these hysteric complainments about things you dont know and overstatements to make a point. what would happen when they release a patch with just a view fixes? people like you would continue to complain because its to less and the rest will never be patched anyway, so for bioware its better to make a good patch and (hopefully) surprise most of the whiners in a positive way.

So, you're put off by customers' alleged whining in this thread, and now you're posting here to...whine about it.

Brilliant.

You know nothing shudsnMD Snow.  Theres been trainers available for DA:I since day one, you can change everything from the default camera zoom, to inquisition points, to perks, to inventory space, to god mode, to many other variables without affecting the .exe, trainers basically change the memory addresses the game loads in real time, there is no tampering, there is no "hacking", the idea that a trainer or cheatengine could get you banned is ridiculous.

Wow!Did I just got bashed, because I've tried to discouraged someone against cheating/introducing errors to the game (which are, by the way, a major complain on CC forum) ? Fine!

Hey, brah?! Forget everything I said previously. With this thing your game will turn out to be 100times better. In fact, this might be the best thing ever happened to your DAI game.

I know I am well behind in reading this forum and the STFU communications policy may have changed over the last 24 hours leading into the Long Weekend Thanksgiving (irony!) holiday. There are 30 more pages for me "to listen to" and I am doing it on my own time. Still I wanted, out of a sense of friendly guidance, point out what could be done and the consequences of what has been done. Like many here, I am hoping the information I share will lead to a better reaction in the future.

Very melodramatic :)

But at the end of the day, the only thing from DA:I that I feel was not delivered on is the PC experience.

You are correct. Using the trainer can cause problems with the game when you swap screens etc. as the values in memory change. The rule is to use the trainer, then deactivate it when you don't need it. Which isn't the ideal way a trainer should operate. So it would have been wonderful to have debug options via the Console, or mods.

Ha ok.

First it's not early when the game refuses to go fullscreen to 60% of the PCs and refuses to run or crashes constantly to another 20-30%. I am sorry but that is inexcusable and just means they never tested it properly. Which means that it was developed for PC is a lie. As I said before I am programmer as well and if I release  something like that - whole team would be sacked on the spot. That leads to the logical conclusion that no one there cared for the PC gamers. Again the first patch doesn't need to fix EVERYTHING, but at least should allow to people to start and play the game. And that is crucial. And for something like that 10 days is TOO long. It's like you buying brand new laptop/PC, getting it home only to discover that you can't turn it on for the next month. Now would you be patient or return it and buy another one?

There is nothing hysterical in my comment. These are all logical conclusions based on : the condition in which the game was released/PC controls and camera optimisation/Hardware issues/Fullscreen issues on PC/the dreadful gender bug/lack of response by Bioware/not having the decency to say WHAT they intend to fix at all/locked for modding/simplifying AI and many more. This game was clearly made with no thoughts towards PC experience. And after Allan confirming that for him and the team the controls/UI/Cam is responsive and ok, and combined with all the things mentioned before ANY person who can use logic will come to the conclusion that they have given up on PC and won't address those issues apart from the Hardware ones.

So don't put logical conclusions as "hysteria". The fault for that "hysteria" as you call it, lies with BW/EA as no one bothers to inform us what they intend to fix at all. And that is not how you do business. You don't leave consumers to draw conclusions by not responding or not giving information when you have made severe mistakes. That's business 101.

I wonder if they patch the multuplayer to, as it is its almost unplayable trying to connect to a session is a pain and then in game you can see the net code is garbage. I got another multiplayer game that uses p2p for connection and game hosting that I play(Warframe) and its no where near as bad with net code and conectivity as here.

OMG. 100 pages already. We've had Alan to give a breath of fresh air, and it's not even his area of responsibility!! No one else.

Can  you imagine this happening in any other area? What an unmitigated tragedy.

I can't see them living this down. Total PR disaster. Just like the recent Korean ferry sinking. "Nothing to see! Stay in your cabins. Don't annoy the crew!"

Does anyone else has faced this problem? when in tactical mode and ordering a party member to hold position it triggers hold position for everyone in the party.
Also, whenever we select a party member the camera jumps to that party member forcing us to move across the screen towards an enemy again.

I wonder when will they be releasing the patch :(

The thing is that they don't care about this forum, because basically no one from the outside world comes here to read this. If this stuff was happening on Facebook then we would've had more attention.

I've already posted this, but here's a link where some mod answers most of the questions:

From my perspective, those players that are the most upset ones with agressive attitude are in fact the most passionate and (possibly loyal) players and the reason why they are so angry is because they care about this title and now, they feel like theirs favorite PC game died converting to the dark side (inferior console sub-human race, lol).

If you made this game better for PC, those angry BioWare fans would be your best BW fans. This fuzz and resentfulness also comes from false claims and promises from BW. It is even more unsettling, cuz those PC problems can be "seen" right away (as soon as you try to do you first move or more obviously, in the first combat...)

Still, if you fix KB+M controls, UI (especially inventory) and tactic screen and general PC combatibility ofc, then the game will be fan-tastic!

With all this negativity, I wouldn't be surprised if Bioware's next game didn't include a PC version!  Actually, I would, just because of who we're talking about, but they'd certainly be justified in taking that route!

The more I play this game, the more I love it.  I've experienced a couple crashes (both in my first hour of 36 hours of play).  I've experienced a few bugs (all three in my first 10 hours of play).  I have my share of problems with several aspects of the game (tactical cam, lack of tactics, etc.).  But I'm having the most fun I've had with a game since ME3.  DA:I is far and above the best Dragon Age game IMO.  Far and above.  It may be the best RPG I've played in years.  So continually seeing this negativity really bothers me.

Thank you to all the people who gave constructive criticism rather than droping a steaming pile on the game.

There are definitely patches in the works.  If there wasn't I probably would have opted to do something else this evening than taunt people with faux attention with no plans to actually make an effort to address issues. :\

I'm looking forward to the patches, really hope to see improved controls, as in click to move/loot/attack, auto-attack (maybe as an option), customizable mouse buttons/scroll wheel, toggleable 'search' button (maybe an option to make loot 'shimmer'), ability to zoom out further in tactics cam, etc. Issues that have been covered in this thread, but I have to mention some of them again - 'cause when/if they are fixed, I will find Inquisition to be a lot better.

It's mainly those 'small' things that break my gameplay on PC, in an otherwise fantastic game.

Wait, let me get this straight....

Bioware promised us a PC game. They did NOT deliver on that promise, and your argument is that because we are upset about the empty promise about a PC game, Bioware should spitefully deny us PC games in the future?

We all know DAI is an amazing game. No one is arguing that.

What we ARE arguing is "Made for PC gamers by PC gamers", which was a straight faced lie.

Now  I can only speak for myself when I say, I get more than a little upset when I am sold a lie. Maybe you are OK with this, but some of us really are not.

Agreed, there's no place for harassment, however, you guys could have mitigated a lot of this by simply coming on the forums and talking to your customers. It's called public relations, its called customer service, and its not like you can't moderate if people get out of hand. The game has been out a week and nary a comment from you guys until now. I don't care if you gotta draw straws but get some people on here and interact with these forums. Spend a couple of weeks, I know its a pain but we all have to do things we don't like. It would go a long way to fostering a good relationship with your fans and also reduce some of the white noise. At the end of the day we're the ones that pay your bills so show us some love will ya?

I dont understand why people are complaining so much about "not being able to lock on to an enemy and move to attack. I do it every fight. Unless we're just talking about a couple of mobs, i push ctrl to pause, hit my tac cam button, click on each portrait and tell each character where to move by clicking on the ground . . . It shows you the course they will take (nav points would be nice) and you double click a location for hold position. The only button on the bottom right of the UI I use is the disengage button since those effect every playe,, but for individual characters -how- you click changes the command. Replace a command by simply telling them something else or clicking on the ability again. When i push ctrl to unpause, i watch the mayhem ensue a bit. I have their attack preferences set up so that they dont waste on aoe spells and attacks. I like to ommand those (less waste). There are check boxes to make sure your not always accidentally dropping pause while in tac cam. I get a read on the field, give more commands, rinse repeat. Am i anoyed at the giant always-on health bars of the mobs im attacking? Yes. Do i wish i could fly my cam lower and/or look up or just freelook without being hinged to a point on the ground? Yes! Give me a fly range and a free camera. Give me a toggle to drop the UI. The downside of this method is they attack of their own volition once a battle has begun. Some times it can be difficult to get them to obey the commands i gave them. Maybe the char will sit there for a huff before doi.g what i asked. More often than not, its when i swit h to action came to look up when suddenly all the ranged characters jump from their perches and dive into melee range while my tank breaks and rushes away from the hold position i have set up where she'll have the ranged folks flanking. Its like the king of the marsh castle trying to tell his guards " you two stay here and watch him, and don't let him leave the room."

In DAO i remember setting up all my melee guys in one room and having my mage rush in, blast someone with a spell and go "yoohoo over here boys" then rush back through the door where my smash dudes were all waiting. Its a trap!

That is more difficult to do in this version, but with tac cam and a little patience, i get it done.
Walk toggle please!

He wants the pc version of the game fixed

As do i. As do almost everyone that plays KB +M

Am not playing it anymore till they fix the basic controls.

I am dissapointed , DA2 was nice visceral combat , origins great tactical game also.

Not being able to micro manage orders to my companions and poorly implemented controls is a disgrace to pc community.

Also , I loved Mass effect 3 , beginning to end.

they need to fix it , or let others fix it for them.

that video a few posts up projects a completely different game.

Very dissapointed.

It is unfortunate that some people are having so many problems just running the game.

I've played over 50 hours with smooth cutscenes and not a single crash on Ultra settings, so it just goes to show how the countless PC hardware variations can be a tricky problem to solve, which the devs can't possibly resolve before release...but hopefully they will get close.

Well if this is the best RPG you have played - clearly you never played good RPG's... Cause this isn't even an RPG.....

And to be honest I don't know if PC users care at this point - they won't buy next BW game probably anyway....and it's sad cause PC was the main revenue for them and PC users are the main audience or was, that supports their games.

Again the problem with the negativity is, that BW doesn't' even bother to give straight answer.

But seriously thought if you think this is RPG - I highly recommend you play Baldur's Gate1/2/ToB, Planescape,Fallout1/2, NVN1/2 and for NWN2 especially "Mask of  the Betrayer" expansion, to see what true RPG is. How you can resolve 1 quest in several ways, how they mattered and was not simply go kill this mob, how you can build your character however you want, you could feel freedom to do whatever you want or to play the game in whatever way you want. It's showing that these games are still played even today 15 years latter, they still have amazingly strong community that creates mods for them, hundreds of thousands of mods...And that is how you make RPG and a great game, which this is not...in year no one would play it anymore -why? Moding! Something every RPG dev/publisher should understands well. You open your game for moding - community will fix buggs/Ui/Camera themselves and they will make mods that will prolong the game life. Bathesda realised it and allowed moding in Skyrim and that made Skyrim  so good, and people are playing it and buying it even today because of the fun mods that make the game another experience altogether. BW used to do that. Not anymore. Why? Cause you can't mod on consoles. They have left PC business with this game and started catering for consoles. So at this point I don't think most people care anymore about their next games...

That passive/aggressive trolling :)

So for you criticism is negative, feedback is negative, not agreeing with BW is negative?

And you are not as sorry as me trust me - I grew up with their games as most of the people disappointed here. And we supported them past 15 years, far longer then YOU have even know their name trust me. And we were there promoting their games, creating mods, fixes, patches. So for you to tell me I can't express my feeling here is just beyond stupid.

If you are happy - fine. Get off this forum - this tread is exactly for complains and concerns, and we are all concern that BW is gone.

Don't come to explain to us that if we are not happy - then it's our problem and to fuk off.

It's just immature...
