Dragon Age Inquisition (any settings) - Freezes, crashes to desktop (no error code whatsoever) gives BSOD witch i haven't seen in like ever with this PC
Far Cry 4 (high settings) - Some tearing and low FPS here and there, but no crashes, and runs smooth. Game is **** though. The IRONY
What a mess BioGuys. What a shame. I'm done trying. I'll just wait for a patch and drivers. Till then faith is lost. If that wont help - this will be the last game i'll buy from you.

What happend to having like 15 skill slots on my UI? I loved that.
You're not gonna get more then 8.
It would be "unfair" to the console players to not force the PC players to abide by the same limitations their platform of choice has.

Finally got DAI.
I'm 5 hours in, judging by this thread the game will be crawling on my humble budget PC and it will crash every 15 minutes, and I will get carpel syndrome out of the controls. Surprisingly the game runs pretty well on my PC on medium settings (maybe because I got the longer end of the stick with an AMD GPU), the controls are somewhat strange but manageable. Outside of the supersonic NPCs glitch when talking in Haven with companions and advisors didn't encounter any bug, my keep world state also transmitted well.
There are few things to improve upon:
1. When in combat, I played the previous games like an RTS. Please return the function of pressing on the ground and moving not in tactical cam, please allow us to box the screen to select multiple companions.
2. Attacking with knockback attacks can be annoying at times, because the character continues to hit the air instead of making the 2 steps necessary to close the distance. Please don't try to be Skyrim here, because u have to manage a 4 man party instead of a single person. Have the selected character autoattack and close the distance when necessary.
3. The tactical cam. Here u NEED it to work like an RTS to make it functional. Allow us in combat to enter tac mode using middle mouse scroll, please zoom out farther as it is too close, also allow us to edge screen scroll with the mouse.
Again, the key here is allowing control like a Real Time Strategy game, don't think like an RPG here.

Ok here's my 2 cents. It's like getting handed an academy award potential movie and saying here this is the most wonderful thing you will see in years but the sound is faulty, but watch it anyway. I have been looking forward to this game with more anticipation than I care to admit to and in many ways I have not been disappointed, it has exceeded my expectations in many areas. It is massively beautiful, full of rich characters, a complex story, gorgeous artwork and I could go on and on what I like about this game. But lets face it, the PC fighting controls suck. I found myself just putting the setting on casual just so I could rush through the fights and get them over with. That takes half of the fun away! And I get irritated every time I have to walk all the way up to a chest, look for the faint little circle and for the small hand to come up just to open it. And I wish there was a way to just toggle the search ON instead of constantly having to push the V button to see anything, and most of the time I can't find it anyway because there is no indication where that little bit of loot is, the outline isn't distinct enough. I'm not going to go into what it would take to fix the controls because that has been listed many times throughout this post and I agree with 99% of them. My real issue is this: Why are PC players getting pushed to the back seat and treated like second class citizens behind console players? I maintain a perfectly good PC that is multipurpose and can handle my gaming needs plus my personal needs. Why are we being blatantly pushed to buying into the console world? Are the console devs really that powerful to call the shots? I have to say that I am REALLY disappointed with the lack of consideration to the PC players out there with this release and I have been an ardent Bioware fan and defender to my friends who refuse to buy their games because they don't like EA. I don't get into politics much and I've never tried to form an opinion about them one way or another, but Bioware you are breaking my heart! We PC gamers MATTER!, don't forget us!

Confirmed there is no way in earth that the official recommended specs are right for the current state of DAI
Check this benchmark
http://www.techspot....arks/page7.html
Here is the GPU test chart
http://www.techspot....arks/page3.html
To hit 60fps you need a i7-4470 / gtx 980, I have the cpu. My gtx 660 is not good enough no matter what Bioware says is not the recommended GPU! I guess I think I will play this game next year when I can afford a new GPU.
I wouldent trust that review dude, i run the game just fine at 4k res (50-60 fps when out in the world)
Im guessing they are using the ingame benchmark witch is crap.
Spec:
I7 3930k @4,5ghz
32 gb 1600 mhz ram
Asus rampage IV extreme mb
3x R9 290x @ stock
SSD disc
All settings maxxed exept AA witch i dont need at 3840x2160.

The clunky interface, clunkier controls and lack of tactical depth. In short, the severe "consolitis" that this game is suffering right now... It's the one thing keeping this fantastic game from being a masterpiece. Yeah, I mean that and I think that's all there is to it. Give this game solid mouse & keyboard controls, a more serviceable UI and tactical depth that's a bit closer to what we had in Origins. Give it those things and then we are dealing with one of the best action RPG's of all time. I am mad at BioWare for catering so much to the console crowd and leaving PC behind in the process, but at the same time I am thankful for a really good game that has a LOT of obvious effort put into it.
I hope that the patch fixes and/or refines as much as possible. Obviously I don't expect tactics to get any deeper, which is a shame... I think the combat is a lot of fun but god it would REALLY benefit from deeper tactical options. But well, I do expect the patch to get us better controls and a fixed tactical camera. That alone would go a long way. And yeah, it would be nice if this patch could come soon.

Mordor and Skyrim absolutely blow DAI away as DAI is in its current state,
I liked Mordor, but I only played it for about 10 hours before I got bored. Skyrim was better, played that for close to 100 hours. But again...bored. Need a god damn well-written story! DA:I has that, and I don't think I'll have any issue doing the 100+ hours.
I'd say Skyrim is close to the same level as DA:I (I prefer the latter), I think it's Morder that gets blown away by both.

I preordered the game. You know why? Because i remembered the awesome feelings i had playing DAO. This was truly a great game. Now i regret the purchase.
I've played about 20 hours until i gave up. Every nice moment in some quest or in exciting battles is countered with two control problems. I fight more against the pc controls than anything else.
Why is everything so damn complicated and not intuitive at all? The UI, the crafting, TAC Cam ofc, the whole KB+M controls....
I want to play the game, but i can't enjoy it.
So after following this topic I'm glad i'm not alone, but i also learned that it's not gonna change soon.
I refuse to play this game until a patch is out... so i would like to know: What exactly are you guys at bioware gonna patch and when? give me at least a timeframe?

Could you be more specific about what controls and tactical depth bother you? How you would want them to be? People seem to have their own definition of what they consider to be, say, solid mouse and keyboard controls or how tactics should be handled, or if you have specific tactics issues with types of characters (warrior vs rogue vs mage), etc. I think the additional detail will help you (and the community) get the points across.

One of the most basic frustrations with the controls is that right click should be attack. I've played Warcraft and Dragon Age for years and I can't comprehend why this would not be the default. Left click should highlight, and right click should attack. And this can't be remapped. The only option is to invert all mouse controls, which is a nightmare for what I hope would be obvious reasons.
My wife and I both have struggled with this in game. We are constantly attacking things we just want to highlight to see the names/levels on (such as animals, or enemies before we have decided if we want to attack).
And the loot/search system is easily the worst I've ever seen. My wife doesn't even try to use it. She just waits until the word "Loot" appears floating and clicks on that, missing everything else she could potentially loot. And she played Skyrim/Warcraft/Dragon Age plenty, so she knows how to play games.
For me, even though I use the search/loot system constantly, I can never see/tell where the loot is. I've never had a problem finding the loot in any game. It's very hard to see with no indication of direction and a hard to see highlight and basically is a frustrating endevor. It's just running in circles and spinning the camera around and around, often times giving up, having no clue where the loot is. This is the most commonly used function is game besides running forward. It's used more often than the attack button. I'm astounded that it's this unusable.

Also, it would be VERY nice to be able to toggle helmets per character. I think the helmets are very appropriate on Cole and Vivienne. No helmet seems appropriate for Varric, Cassandra, and Solas. For my own character, I wanted the hat off for half the game because it looked silly, so everyone's had to be off. Now that I have a hat I like, it has to be on for everyone.
____________________________
The elf male model has such narrow shoulders that they clip inside the torso, sometime dramatically, like the arms are being sucked into the body. It's very distracting. Solas and Sera don't have this problem and the female characters have broader shoulders than the male elf PC. The workaround has been to wear gear that makes the model look more professionally made, but in Skyhold the character wears a strange/small outfit than makes the male look more alien than elven. It's fairly comical and I'm stunned that this look was approved. The worst was sitting on the throne and the camera panning up the elf male with his stomach and spine looking hunched and broken, almost as if the game was trying to point out how sickly and madly made the model looked.
All that could be avoided simply by allowing the option for equiped gear to be worn while in Skyhold.

Not overclocked. Most cutscenes crash the game. They have to be played over and over and over to finally get through them.

Hello to all who can not even play the game. I had the same prob, it would go to the small black notepad screen, then black screen, then bak to desktop. I tried EVERTHING !, read some much I was going cross-eyed. I even tried tweaking the 3d settings in my NVIDIA GeForce settings, (which worked to play AC 3). However, that didn't work this time, so that all bak to original settings, then I downloaded GeForce Experience. It's like a game booster but for your GeForce , instead of just a random gamebooster. It enabled me to actually play the game. The graphics were not great the start with, but with a bit of tweaking in the game settings, (ie: the mesh settings need to be on at least medium). the game has not crashed( touch wood) and is playing fine. And as I was able to actually play the game and knowing the frustration of not being able to play a game that I have been waiting for, for a very long time. I thought i'd share how I got mine to get going with others in my boat.
As for the other probs ppl have with the Tac-cam, walk/toggle etc. I DONT CARE ! I can play !!! lol
Here is the link to get the GeForce Experience. http://www.geforce.c...rience/download
Good Luck, hope it works for you. ![]()

I am not going to say anything that hasn't been written a thousand times in the past 100 pages, you know?
Controls wise, I want to be able to do simple things that work in pretty much all modern RPG's with keyboard and mouse. INCLUDING Dragon Age Origins. Simple things we've all come to expect, like autorun to loot, area loot, walk/run toggle, pressing both mouse buttons to run... You get the idea. It isn't anything groundbreaking, it's just basic, well known stuff that's normally there in RPG titles nowadays, and it isn't in this game because they obviously focused a lot more on making the game work on a gamepad. I don't have any issues with them putting effort into the gamepad controls, by all means. But when that detracts from the keyboard&mouse functionality, then I find it very annoying. Since when is an RPG title best played with a controller? Why are the controls in Inquisition such a step BACK in a game that is a step forward in many other aspects? Why does it feel like they barely even tested them? It sure isn't hard to realize how clunky they are and how much better they could be.
As for the interface, I would like menus to be better optimized for PC. Like an inventory that actually uses all the space we have in our screens, without huge icons and oversized lists that are clearly designed for console, to be easy to see and navigate from TV-to-couch distance. This game has a huge budget behind it. It isn't so hard to design the interface in a different way in one platform and the other. As it is, menus take too much clicking to navigate, too much up and down with categories. They could work SO much better. I would also like to be able to have some kind of visual tell over all lootable objects or things that I can interact with in the environment, instead of having to run around pinging with the weird sonar thingie.
What else? Well, I don't think I need to talk about the broken tactical camera. And it would be lovely to have more quickslots in our regular gameplay interface, or being able to edit it in some way. Again, these things are a step back when compared to Origins, and Origins didn't even have a great interface without the proper mods.
Finally, the tactics. Anyone who's played Origins will realize how dumbed-down the tactics are in this game. In fact, there aren't really tactics, but just some basic behaviours. In DAO you could personalize so much more the way your companions' AI worked in battles. It wasn't only ability usage, but also things like prioritizing certain kinds of enemies, for example. Or adjusting fighting patterns depending on what was happening to other party members. As it is right now, in harder difficulties Inquisition forces you to micromanage your companions a LOT if you don't want them to do stupid things (or worse, do nothing at all). The combat is fun and flashy, but it really lacks that strategic dimension that allows you to execute your plan properly in tough engagements. And this also obviously happened because of consoles, there's no debating that. And hell... A REAL AUTOATTACK is much to ask for these days? If console players like to hold their trigger because otherwise they "feel like the game is playing itself", so be it, but make it an OPTION and give all of us who want it a real autoattack function. Oh, and a proper chase component to it. I'm sick an tired of watching melee characters swinging at the air.
All these things could be so much better. They had the budget, but they just chose to not bother so much with the PC version. This is an RPG game. A franchise born in PC's. Why are we being left aside like this?
And please, keep in mind that I still love this game and I am absolutely ADDICTED to it, despite all those flaws. That says a lot about how good Inquisition is.

Speaking of weapons... I would love for a way to simply upgrade the "tier" of lower tier crafting recipes so I can have the "look" of gear that I want..
Also, a color picker.. that would be nice, its cool and all that color is granter from the material, but sometimes the "optimal" material has a color that is ****.
