Yeah, let's give them more - after 3 years, 2 months of delay and 2 bonus weeks. And who knows, maybe we can play it in the year 2017 at last?
This is getting ridiculous.
I'd rather have Bioware take the time needed for a good patch, than to waste time throwing out a bunch of minor ones that might/might not work.
While I agree and can wait 1-2 months - I need information WHAT they intend to patch at all.

I don't agree with you for just one thing : they could have made a small fix for walk/jog/run. I can play with the poorly thought UI, camera and so on but no I'm getting tired RUNNING all the way ...
Fact is that from a pure graphics perspective, there is almost no difference anymore between the PC and the PS4 with this game.
So it comes down to the control mechanism of mouse and keyboard. And the modability (which isn't there).
Consoles can now produce a graphic experience that matches the PC.
There is no vast difference between them anymore.
No, you're looking at it the other way around than what it actually is. It's not the consoles matching PC greatness, it's PC toning down to make sure that they can release the game on console. Not the otherway around.
A game like Star Citizen for exemple will never work on next gen consoles. The planetside hub alone has too much polygons that it would just burn your PS4/Xbox one Down;
It doesn't mean that you can't get great AAA games on consoles. You certainly can. But the possibilities are limited to what a console can manage and because big publishers like EA/UBI want to max their sells, it limits their PC ports at the same time.
Right now, the line between consoles and PCs is kinda blured out, but that's only because the next gen consoles are still fairly fresh. It was the same when the 360/PS3 just came out. After 3 years however, you could clearly notice a loss of frame rates... Followed by fewers assets and lower rez textures on the old gen consoles just to make it work on consoles.
Consoles are a very affordable way to play video games and they are more reliable when it comes to compatibility (Easy since everyone has the same rig) and viruses. But for 400 bucks, you clearly don't have the most powerfull horse and it doesn't take too long before your start noticing it.

I agree.
While there are indeed things that needs more testing and may be complicated to patch, the very basic thing of adding the Walk toggle should take no time at all, but make a HUGE difference to a lot of gamers.
You are saying you do not have massive framerate drops during combat? These screenshots are all simple landscape shots, no enemies in the frame, no explosions or spell effects going off.
Is the zoom out a lot more usable then?
It's clear that this would not be usable on Consoles, though. I can't think that you would not have massive framerate drops on those platforms.
Have you had any clipping issues, where you can see blackness or greyness, where the world mesh ends etc. etc. ?
Dont forget the brute force of his gtx 980... it will be shocking if he would have frame drops.
Guys i know that something you dont realy wanna see here
but reading and asking friends about FC4
it seems you only need around 40-50hours to get around 94% of the game
for me its too low and dont worth my money...
so i decided to take the damm risk that eating me for the last days...i bought DA : I
i hope i wont get any issues like CTD , etc..
about controls...well i never played DA game in my life so im gonna give it a shot
and my main hope is that they gonna announce about a patch soon so even if i will have problems they will be fixed soon...
if any of you want my Origin ID is:MightyNir
would be gr8 to have some friends ,im brand new in the origin
A few recommendations:
- If your GPU is overclocked, set it back to factory settings
- Change your display to borderless Windowed mode
- Turn Ambient Occlusion to Off
The latter helped me with the enormous load times, and the second one stopped my DirectX CTDs.
Good luck! ![]()
Why does DAI: lags especially on skyhold, haven, and other villages I did past the minimum specs and currently my graphic settings are auto and I did try lowering it to medium but it still kinda lags about 18 fps... totally ruins the immersion for me
and especiall at the beggining when your character wakes up the game lags so hard at the house... maybe because of the fire or something.
But I can run Far Cry 4 in med settings w/ no lag or problems w/ the occasional stutters that has been fix already. yet I did not meet the minimum specs....
*Run the game before the patches and I was able to finish.
Specs:
I5 3210m
Nvidia gtx660m 2gb
8gb ram
I have a 2GB GTX 675MX (a laptop card). Here are the settings I'm using. I typically have the fps meter running all the time. I'm usually in the high 30's to mid 40's fps wise, though I do dip down to high 20's on occasion. Always very playable though. And beautiful.
Graphic settings:
I turned on FXAA in the Nvidia control panel
Mesh Quality: Ultra
Tesselation: Off
Texture Quality: Ultra
Shadow Quality: Medium
Terrain, Vegetation, and Water Quality: High
Post Processing Quality: Low
Ambient Occlusion: Off
Effects Quality: High
Post_Processing Antialiasing: Low
Multisample Antialiasing: Off
Whether the graphcis are dumbed down or not is immaterial , really.
They look amazing, and are more than good enough whether on the PC or the Console. So even "dumbed down" the environments are utterly beautiful and the camera models, spell effects, a player will not find any of these wanting. Hence my opinion that there is no longer a vast difference in graphical fidelity that can hinder enjoyment of the game. Textures don't need to be radically scaled down as they would have been for the 360, for example.
As for zoom out in Tactical Camera? I used the trainer that allows you to zoom out, and in tactical combat so far I have encountered nothing but a much improved gameplay experience.
Tac Cam is awesome when you can zoom out further, game changer!

@BioMarkDarrah Dude, are there going to be multiple patches released as bugs are fixed, or are they hoping to do one massive update?

i might take the opportunity to ask you
i got a GTX 680 Gigabyte 2GB
is it good enough for DA:I / FC4 ?
i also got I5-3570K/256GB 830 Samsong ssd/4gb ram 1600hz but next week im going to get my new 1866hz corsair from repair
also im using win7
If you are planing to play this at 30-50fps on medium settings? having sttuter, crash to desktop? I have a i7-4770, gtx 660, 8 ram, mobo g1.sniper-b5. DAI 30-50 fps on almost any big open area (most of the time at the 30fps sides), but on closed areas like caves, castle, rooms, dungeons, and just facing the side of a big mountain you will have 60fps. Oh and where is a lot of npcs your frames will drop, I almost forget don use your camera to close during fights because all that flashy (but beautiful) effects will make you drop frames to.
I'd rather have Bioware take the time needed for a good patch, than to waste time throwing out a bunch of minor ones that might/might not work.
Interesting.. I'd rather have ANY kind of support.. Be it hotfix for most ''dangerous bugs'', or just patch/es, or at least any kind of information when we should expect a patch and what it will include..

PS4 30fps locked, not that good lighting, etc
PC 200fps locked (60 w/vsync), it looks beautiful even only at hight, Ultra will melt your eyes in joy.

Hmm... I'm wondering if this includes a fix for nvidia cards. I'm kinda surprised that AMD had a beta driver out so fast and still nothing from nvidia.

While I do want a patch as fast as possible, heck I pre-ordered the game for a reason, I also want a patch that works. Information on what and when would be nice, but I guess it can be difficult beforehand to know exactly what the end-result will be, and when it will be ready. Suppose the patch in testing turns the minimap blue for whatever reason, back to the drawing table ![]()

Well, good luck to you then. In order to avoid breaking your playthrough immediately, if you want to play a male character for example pick male, then pick female, and then pick male again. Don't make the same mistake I did and just assume that the game works.
As for CTD's, it's a coin flip really. I read people have problems on various setups. For me personally, I had no issues with framerate or crashing. PC: i7 4790K, 16G Ram GSkill Trident @2400, Gigabyte 780Ti, Win 8.1 Pro, game installed on Sandisk Extreme Pro 500Gb SSD. Playing at full screen, 144hz, Ultra/Fade Touched settings, MSAA off. Frame rate is consistently over 60 and I did not have a crash in the 3-4 hours that I played. The only problem I had is that my Wireless Logitech F710 gamepad is not recognized by the game, unless I jerk it off a bit right before launching the game. If I turn it on AFTER I launch the game, it doesn't work.

Nvidia already released drivers for DAI. The problem is that drivers have nothing to do with CTDs.

Im gonna play female anyway and gonna romance another hotty female so incase they would recognize me as male it wont affect me that much
You never know what's gonna break later. If you want to play female, pick female, then male, then female again on the character creation screen to make sure it's correct.
Ill post updates on my game experience after i get few hours in itYou never know what's gonna break later. If you want to play female, pick female, then male, then female again on the character creation screen to make sure it's correct.

But if you play as a female, the only romanceable female hottie in the game isn't available to you.
Still no fix for the graphic glitches on SLI setups... Come on, just ask DICE how they fixed it in BF4. Shouldn't be too hard?!
I accept this game as a console port, I also play it with controller from minute one. The tac cam is still useless (almost). The tactics, the skillsystem and the companion AI is... I don't know what to say, this was what made this game series big and they just removed it, maybe the next Dragon Age will be fully automated? The gameplay feels more like a Mass Effect than a Dragon Age.
"Press "F" to win? is this what you want BioWare?
It's like building the next super sportscar and scale down the horsepower and remove features like launch control and remove the ability to switch of stability programs for sliding and drifting so that even a casual guy can drive a sportscar.
But if you play as a female, the only romanceable female hottie in the game isn't available to you.
Really?
Only booted up a Female Mage as Sera is a cutie and the the game is playable for me as a mage (kinda). Haha

I have those drivers. I'm referring to the first post in the thread when Mark refers to working with AMD and nvidia to get driver fixes out.
