Hey, first time posting in here, was hoping I could get some tips.
When I was debating whether I should get DA:I, I made sure that my PC could run the game, checking the recommended settings before buying it. I thought I might have to drop some superfluous stuff (honestly, who feels like they need antialiasing, anyway?), but it should run in the medium-and-highs range easily. In fact, the auto-select settings in-game say exactly that, and go as far as to set my texture level to Ultra.
I've got 8gb of RAM, an i7 processor, and an Nvidia GeForce GT 650m dedicated graphics card (Bioware recommends the 660)
Like I said, I thought I might have to lower some settings, but what I'm encountering is the game heavily bogging down in any situation where more than one person is doing something. I enter combat, and if there's more than 5 bodies doing stuff, or too many flashy spells, the game cuts to about half the normal speed.
I've been reading that there's apparently some significant issues the game is having with Nvidia cards, as well as poor PC optimization problems, and I was hoping someone could shed some light on my problem for me, perhaps let me know if "yeah, that's just the lack of optimization" or "Nope, 650 card means you can't play".
I mean, I knew I wasn't going to be playing on high-ultra for everything but I assumed that I could least keep textures, meshes and effects up in "high". Everything else is either "off" or "lowest" in the graphics menu, despite what the game auto-selected my settings to be when I first booted up the game, and my FPS is still god awful.
Anyone able to give me some answers? Will the upcoming PC patch hopeffully make the game run vastly better? It's not like this computer is massively outdated or anything, and I get Dragon Age is pretty, but it's not like i'm cranking everything up to ultra and refusing to budge or something.I'd just like to know whether I wasted my money on a game that's recommended settings told me, twice, that I'd have little trouble running the game.
Thanks a ton in advance!
