D:OS is a game that is definitely built for PC gamers and it oozes it constantly.
Larian studios are exceptional with knowing what works on PC doesn't.
the downside is, they are bad a balancing and storytelling ![]()
i really really like d:os especially the turn based combat, but the game has/had its flaws too. even broken promises from kickstarter
and yeah surely it was build for pc, it was the only platform they aimed for. and yeah it has a powerful editor to mod, but sadly no one does it ;(
this year i had the impression developers recognize the comeback of pc, but want to force the player using controlers for playing. its logical, consols give additional customers and when they manage to bring pc users to use controlers the development for both of it is much easier. so i really hope the success of d:os is a sign for supporting a platform the right way is a guarantee for good feedback and so more money (you know, they are companies, its all about the money, they are no friends of us). but to be honest, despite the love for d:os i dont think it would have funded the production cost of a game in size of da:i, so they have to look for a circle of customers thats big enough, console players included. but please developers, dont be lazy, a controler is only good to sit on a couch with friends or for certain genres. nobody that played a while with keyboard and mouse would say a controler is better, especially in games with a lot of object and micromanagment like rpgs (and no dump done everything to fit for controlers is not the solution)
i have no big problems with the controls or bugs in da:i, but it is sad to see that it has so much problems just because a little lazyness to support the strenght of a plattform you released. the game is great, for me personal its better than da:o but maybe an area less and for this a good development ui and control wise and more people would recognize how great it is.
and dont try anymore to force pc players to controlers, the only thing that will happen is a shitstorm.
