D:OS is a game that is definitely built for PC gamers and it oozes it constantly.

Larian studios are exceptional with knowing what works on PC doesn't.

the downside is, they are bad a balancing and storytelling :D

i really really like d:os especially the turn based combat, but the game has/had its flaws too. even broken promises from kickstarter ;) and yeah surely it was build for pc, it was the only platform they aimed for. and yeah it has a powerful editor to mod, but sadly no one does it ;(

this year i had the impression developers recognize the comeback of pc, but want to force the player using controlers for playing. its logical, consols give additional customers and when they manage to bring pc users to use controlers the development for both of it is much easier. so i really hope the success of d:os is a sign for supporting a platform the right way is a guarantee for good feedback and so more money (you know, they are companies, its all about the money, they are no friends of us). but to be honest, despite the love for d:os i dont think it would have funded the production cost of a game in size of da:i, so they have to look for a circle of customers thats big enough, console players included. but please developers, dont be lazy, a controler is only good to sit on a couch with friends or for certain genres. nobody that played a while with keyboard and mouse would say a controler is better, especially in games with a lot of object and micromanagment like rpgs (and no dump done everything to fit for controlers is not the solution)

i have no big problems with the controls or bugs in da:i, but it is sad to see that it has so much problems just because a little lazyness to support the strenght of a plattform you released. the game is great, for me personal its better than da:o but maybe an area less and for this a good development ui and control wise and more people would recognize how great it is.

and dont try anymore to force pc players to controlers, the only thing that will happen is a shitstorm.

You cannot compare or try and develop for a KB/M vs Console.

Try running Word or Excel on a console. Just the alphabet has 26 keys * shift/alt/ctrl. Plus gaming mouse with 5 buttons.

To even try to pass off Inquisition as "designed for PC" is a blatant lie.

I feel sorry for Bioware that they even tried. The PC version is like a one legged spider trying to do pushups.

There are literally hundreds of keys on a KB/M setup. Infinitely more than a console.

But why even try? Should have developed for PC first, then ported to console.

Oh, they said that was what they did, didn't they?

We always have the witcher 3 to save the day if inquisition fails to live up to it's promises and nothing get's patched. Exciting to see the differences, seeing as they are both open world.

It really appears that the game was just rushed out the door to meet the console release date. And now its tow the party line or get fired. Deny deny deny lol.

The game could have easily had a UI like Divinity Original Sin or even Origins, EA/Bioware whoever was making the call just decided to take the risk and not spend the dev time and money to do the work. It might even work out financially for them, but I for one have been telling every single friend I have to avoid buying this game like the plague to cause as much harm to their bottom line as possible.

I'm kind of a dick though ;) so its to be expected.

It's just physical sales. Digitals sales are not included so PC sales are much higher in reality.

But I doubt the pc sales including digital ones exceed console sales, that is the whole point about our 'pc version' of this game...

Because it was originally only developed for PC.  Then got pushed back to come to consoles, if I remember correctly.

Where as this title was more focused for consoles, in regards to certain aspects (which is fine), but that doesn't excuse a poorly optimized port.

Back to the regular scheduled programming ---

I think I've looked into just about every interesting fix there ever was to make the game work --- and although my rig can work at low, Med, and High ( with the same conclusion) --- I'm at a loss for this game.   It almost has a degrading mind of its own.

Now I see people are getting frustrated due to the inactivity on the  Devs/EA-Bioware people with responses to the issues.  I wouldn't say this is anything new to me, they've acted pretty much the same way since ME2/DA2. No use getting overly angry about it --- it is what it is. If someone was tired of it, then vote with your wallet....its just unfortunate that the gaming community is much to diverse and could care less how the other guy/gal's  rig/system doesn't work when their's does.  Kudos to the more considerate people whom haven't flaunted that they haven't had a problem since start-up and cliche  " its must be YOU or your PC".  That only pisses people off even more than helping them.  I just can't see how taxing it is to just provide a little respect.  Can it really hurt?  No.

The more this drags on the more its going to get rough and nasty from my experince with the ME3 fallout.  They need to do a better job at PR/Consumer affairs, particuarlly with open forms.  Letting pissed off folks rage and having a  2000+ unanswered thread does nothing but bring more toxin into the enviorment.

I'd vote for calm ---- and a lot of patience folks because their communication sucks and I have this mental picture of a bunch of guys with thick, black rimmed glasses and large cheetoes bags, laughing and high-fiving eachother with their orange stained finger tips as they continue to read the rising ire on these forums.

Dev #1 :  " Dude!  Look --- this guy just said he wasn't ever going to buy another one of our games again!"

Dev#2:   " Ha ha ha ha ha ha!  Don't worry --- we'll make more articulated  you-tube sneak peeks and EA backed PR adds to fool them again! --- Maybe we'll even throw in a holographic picture of Lelianna's butt as a pre-download goodie"

Dev#3    " Daaaaaaamn  Thats a good idea!  Hey did you see this little bit about degraded software? I'm glad we took a  5 day vacation during testing time....boy do I ever hate those periods of grueling work..."

Dev#1  "  I sure do as well.  Thats why I just cut corners with the code and made it seem like it was good... they'll never care anyway...its for the PC people...and you know how  THEY ARE"

Meanwhile on the console side of the house.....

Dev Master:  " ALRIGHT YOU #$@#$@#$@#$@#$!!!!!!  TEST TEST TEST and MORE TEST!  YOU WANT TO BE A GAME DEV? THEN YOU BETTER PUT YOUR STINKING HOURS IN AND MAKE SURE THESE PEOPLE GET WHAT THEY WANT!  ALRIGHT --- I DON"T KNOW WHAT I"VE BEEN TOLD BUT CONSOLE GAMING IS MIGHTY....."

Devs:   YES DEV MASTER SIR ---  THIS IS MY GAME PROJECT! THERE ARE MANY LIKE IT BUT THIS ONE IS MINE!

I can live with that nonsense UI but they just have to rework PC controls and tactical view couse the game is frustrating.

BTW Divinity is a great RPG and it's on promotion on steam now so it's worth a shot. Age of Decadence wil be much much better though.

If one has not ever played this Divinity franchase, how do you play the games and in what order? Does it matter?

I'm amazed at the number of physical PC-copies sold.

I didn't think any PC-gamer bought the boxes anymore. Granted - I tried, but that was just for sentimental values, since I have the DA:O and DA2 boxes. It failed because I couldn't find it for sale in shops. I then concluded that fate doesn't want me to purchase this thing, at least not now, and rolled with that. Now I'm watching the PC interface situation.

Anyway, if they sold that many PC-boxes, they have made a lot of PC-sales.

Who knows, but if there are still that many people who buy boxed pc games (i sure as hell don't), the actual sales figure must be quite higher.

Those numbers are very unaccurate. VG Chartz numbers are estimates based on data they pulled out of their ***. Wait for official numbers from EA.

Yea, that is just sad.

It's also pouring a big 2 lb bag of salt into an open wound for true pc gamers who actually revered that guy as some great RPG mind.

Sell-out.

Game's still broken after nearly two weeks.

I'd really like to know how Bioware thinks this is acceptable.

This game as it is does not feel right on pc. Yes it is beautiful, but why does it feels like you guys are trying so hard to make me go to any console? Your first games, as i recall weren't made for consoles. Are you guys making that much money on consoles, to completely overlook the pc versions?

Does anyone know the percentage of players on PC as opposed to consoles?

I have updated my AMD Catalyst drivers to the beta one, still getting this GetDeviceRemovedReason issue. So, it is not only NVidia problem!

Your problem is your SLI config. It's been proven that the game runs like ass/ way more prone to crash on dual graphics configs due to a lack of good driver support.

Stuff like this is why i never bother with 2 gpu's anymore, it's overkill and a lot of games do not fully support it.

.... You may have a point there, so what should I do then, I am not that savy with PC though learning as I go. Can i disable the SLI config and just run game with one????

This is the result of false "parity". After all, consoles don't have mice, so rebinding mice buttons can't be offered. It wouldn't be "fair" or "parity" to cater to one platform.

You mean how they have catered to the Xbone this whole time....is that your idea of fair... <_<

Actually the game is not broken. That's the problem.

So crashing every cutscene, memory leaks that crash my pc every half hour, and general direct x crashes at completely random times is not broken to you?

You sir, are derp.
