Have you not had a single DirectX crash? If not, would you mind listing your specs? Thanks!
I did not have any crash or technical problems. If you are interested my specs are:
GeForce GTX 760 (344.75 drivers)
Intel Core i5 3470 3.20Ghz
8GB RAM
Windows 7 64bits
So far my problems are the same as most people who can play. Keyboard / mouse control and some minor issues. DAI is a great game but these little things sometimes make me rage hard.
I did not activate any AI tactic, I play only with tactical cam and i give all orders. It is annoying due to the camera focusing on the char every time you select him but
well, they said it is a bug, they will fix it I hope. Controls are ok for me since I always controlled camera with WASD on strategy and MOBA games and im used to it. But the camera being a solid object, not going through walls, ladders or being unable to zoom out on caves or buildings is a huge problem. Every time I go into a cave I'm like "oh well, let's end this quick". I don't know who thought that was a good idea.
- Resurrect a companion on tactical cam is a pain in the a**. You will command manually a character to do it, he will move to his target and will stay there doing nothing or will come back to the fight. It is really annoying.
- Sometimes when you select and click on the floor to move a character he will go around a huge area instead of jumping down 1 meter. Your armor is not that heavy Varric, you will be fine c'mon... Pathing needs some work.
- I use Iron bull and sometimes, with fast enemies, I really hate using him, even being for me one of the best characters of dragon age franchise. He goes to his target, trys to attack, target moves, he misses or cancels animation. Repeat again. Ok, it must be realistic, fast enemies won't stay quiet to get smashed by a giant axe. But this happens even with dragons. You target their legs, and Bull is constantly trying to attack but if the dragon moves a little bit he cancels the animation. Your weapon is larger than you man, you have range, kill him damn.
- Camera angle sometimes is really bad. If you have to target something higher than you, you can't do it with the max zoom out cause the camera can't climb. So you have to zoom in, move the camera down and find your target. Sometimes, if the enemy is near you, you just can't target him. It happened to me fighting Hinterland's dragon with the babys coming from the mountain.
- Mount controls are really bad in my opinion. Not responsive and really bugged. You can get stuck on a tiny rock or in a door which has enough height to fit.
Anyway, even with these things I'm enjoying the game to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I think they tricked us with the "PC game to pc players" stuff, and this will be the last game I buy from Bioware if they don't fix it soon, but is really fun. That's what bothers me more, that it could be a 10/10 game. 90 hours and i think I completed like 50% of the main story. With good controls that would be awesome.
