So since we arent hearing anything from Bioware for the last 5 days, mean we are being swept under the rug?

OK....

The ongoing issues with the AMD Radeon HD 6800 series GPU's has me ranging far and wide for possible solutions.

I just got into a heated debate about whether the above mentioned card meets minimum system req's. I had thought the HD 4870 was the bare minimum and that the HD 6800 exceeded that.

Am I wrong? Before I can go any further I need a little clarification on this one.

I can make that clarification. There is no debate, your HD 6800 should be more than enough to play DA:I with no FPS problems. If you can't then it is not your hardware's fault but a internal problem related to the game itself.

How do I know this? Easy, I know it because I am currently playing DA:I with an old HD 5670 having 45-60 FPS. Almost everything is on LOW settings of course, but it feels good to play without low frame rate issues.

I had a lot of problems too until I found a way to create a .cfg that changes user preferences for this game.

If you are interested here is what I did:

1. Open Notepad.

2. Copy the following sentences:

PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1
RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 0
RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 0
RenderDevice.VsyncEnable 0
PostProcess.DynamicAOEnable 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurEnable 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurForceOn 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurFixedShutterTime 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurMax 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurQuality 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurMaxSampleCount 0
WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapEnable 0
WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapResolution 256
WorldRender.TransparencyShadowmapsEnable 0
WorldRender.LightTileCsPathEnable 0

3. Save the file as user.cfg

4. Place this .cfg inside your DA:I installation folder (where the DA:I .exe is located).

By doing this I raised my FPS from max 28 to max 60.

Thanks to gatorattack05, who posted this solution in gamefaqs.

Oh, and If you don't want to show FPS rate on screen, switch PerfOverlay.DrawFps to 0.

Hope this helps you and anyone else.

And... well, the game stil have very problematic issues. It still crashes from time to time with no reason. It just exits with no warnings. Not to mention I'm sure that performance isn't working as intended.

Still wating for a patch. A man can dream.

Ah, the old battlefield 3 fix :)
It is still effective it seams. Talking about future of gaming, when they can't fix something that's been around since bf3.

Nope, wrong again.  LMB+RMB allows the exploration to be done with one hand.  If you have to jump over something, you hit Jump - which is mapped to 1 of the thumb buttons on the mouse.

Right now, we can't do either of those things.

Click to move is not just about exploration.  It's actually more important during combat.  Moving your party members to different locations with mouse clicks (not having to hold down uncomfortable buttons for extended time)

You're the one that needs to think about it...

Or they could make the pathfinding better. Either of those would work, really. I'm not really complaining since I can play fine, but that dude's notion of it being ok to suddenly some people not being able to play a sequel to a game they could play fine is... well, whatever, I haven't really read the forum rules so I'm not gonna comment on it

BammBamm, I was also gonna reply to another post where you pretty much implied that the complaints we see here and on user reviews represent every player with complaints and that they are all just looking for a reason to not like the game - Hey, i'm totally glad that my game is crashing, now I can hate it all I want, it's not like I really like it otherwise or anything - but it seems that the post I was going to reply to disappeared, so I'll just assume you realized how stupid it sounded and deleted it.

So you disabled motion blur and Ambient occlusion and a lot of light effects... that's hardly a fix. No wonder why you gained fps.

Shadows would be the only thing that gained him fps. Motion blur doesn't impact much.

Makes me really sad to see DAI for 45 bucks on amazon today when i payed 60 for it and have barely played it yet...  I should have just returned it, to late now.

thanks for at least trying to help, Selz...instead of just ranting and flaming everyone and everything that moves. I will give that a shot and post back about how it works. I will try anything at this point other than dropping everything to low and still sputtering and CTD'ing.

We need to work together on this guys...not ****** in each other's ears. Anyone who writes in here that the problems are not ubiquitous and we are whining is a moron and should consider a procedure to keep them from procreating and spreading their idiocy...

But that's just one man's opinion.

If one has not ever played this Divinity franchase, how do you play the games and in what order? Does it matter?

It does not with Original Sin, but If you want to play all of them then put Original Sin whenever you want and the rest games are: Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity and Divinity 2 Ego Draconis. But to be honest It does not matter that much, I would even skip Beyond Divinity couse It's not that good.

They working on It, and they confirmed that already. There more than one or two issues here so they need time to gather as much feedback as they can and fix the issues.

You do realize that they have their own families/friends/loved ones and any of the staff who has family in the US will most likely have needed a few days.  RELAX. There are tons of workarounds to make the game playable for most cases and those that literally can't play the game whatsoever will still need to wait, fixes don't happen in just a few days or weeks even sometimes.  There have been a lot of pressing issues reported so I imagine they have their work cut out for them.

Other bugs / glich / trick put the case that you find a chest containing a couple of items and a beautiful sword. We regret that the sword is only because you wanted to equip it to other warriors .. no problem. Take the sword and let in the chest at least one object. Change the map, then come back in the map where you found the chest and like magic will be full again, with another sword ready to attend you repeat the trick as many times as you want at will, perhaps with the amulets that give 1 point statistics so as to level off at will their heroes keep up with experience points

You are damn right.
But for the sake of those who can't play, why the **** did EAware have to release this broken pos too early?!?!
Why couldn't they have waiter until the job was done right? Imagine you'd buy an unfinished smartphone, or a car, or a new os for your PC or any other thing where it would just be unacceptable to release it unfinished!
But EAware took all of us gamers, especially those playing on last gen, for a fool!

because you have all the numbers on who is unable to play the game right??

it seems to me you are the dramaqueen here(and some kind of an idiot too), if you are sooo happy and the game plays soooo great for you WTF are you doing here? are you trying to win the "Defender of the Lie" shield from Bioware or something? go and play you best game forever in the whole wide world, you are wasting your time and whats even more important...my time!

i've seen what happens when a game is hated by a majority of players (xrebirth), the shitstorm was ten times bigger although the sales were just a tenth of da:i ;) i criticize many things in the game myself, but try not to loose the connection to reality or throwing around overstatements or lies because nobody will take you serious with this kind of behaviour (not even the devs). I'm here at the forums at work or when i smoke a cigarette because you cant do it while walking around because of the controls ;)

and i dont waste your time, you are not forced to read my posts. so get used to it, it will continue

You are right, I only wanted to help. To be honest I see a very little quality difference when turning off those effects, and since many of these can't be disabled by the ordinary way through the game options menu... well, totally worth it IMHO. Even like this DA:I still looks awesome.

Once again I'm with you, this isn't a fix per se, but while we wait for a possible (or not) performance increase, this may help to play without frustration.

I'm not defending BioWare. I'm saying that people with CTDs are not the majority of PC gamers. If you think flipping tables and frothing at the mouth is going to help the fact that there's still no patch, then have at it.

No, I don't think it will make the patch come faster. You missed my entire point. Exclaiming our disgust for this business decision isn't meant to attempt to get Bioware to release the patch faster, it is meant to make them know that we, as a consumer base, think it is bullshit. And once again you are throwing that phrase "majority of pc gamers" around. You must not understand math? Sure, 80% is a majority, but 20% when we are talking about over a hundred thousand people still equates to THOUSANDS of people having issues with the game. The near 20,000+ posts in the neogaf bug thread as well as the the near 4k posts in this thread easily prove that. Let me make this simple for you since you are having a hard time understanding: thousands of people having crashes and other graphical problems *is not okay*. You think that because *you* are not having problems that makes it completely okay, when in fact that is an incredibly selfish and inconsiderate perspective. We don't simply want a patch. We want this **** from publishers to stop. We *don't* want to be screwed over as a community anymore. Please realize this before you reply again, cause I feel like I am repeating myself now.

It's really sad to see this 'mess' happen but as much as I like BW and all their games (new and old) I'm also pissed off about the veil of silence that they obviously put up, EA, Ubisoft, etc. it's like they're laughing at us behind a glass wall and think that we can't see them. I still sincerely hope that they're working hard and will release any patch soon.

I have repeatedly stated that I am having problems. I've posted those problems, both here and in the tech support forum, numerous times. I haven't once said, "it's okay and since I've figured out ways to get around those problems then those problems don't matter." Don't put words in my mouth, don't assume, and don't tell me what I should and shouldn't post just so you feel better.

It has become industry practice to go silent when issues arise. I mean, during development and up to launch, the developers were practically living in our homes; post-launch and the fog of silence has descended.

EA did the same thing with SimCity until major outlets began to ask questions.
