What about Dragon Commander? Surely it's not really an RPG but is it recommended?
I don't know your tastes so I don't know if I should recommend it to you or not. I enjoyed it personally and thought it was a pretty damn fun game. It's quite the interesting mish-mash of a few genres (RTS/RPG/Boardgame). If you're interested, the following trailers will give you a better idea of what the game's like than I could, they're really well done (no CGI bollocks, lots of actual gameplay and narrated explanations of what the game is about - because Larian knew it would be difficult to sell such an unusual hybrid concept).
My main pros were:
+ Awesome, often hilarious dialogue (brilliant voice acting) and extensive decision-making (that matters) on-board your ship.
+ Pretty damn fun to fly around as a dragon roasting enemy armies in the RTS battles.
Main cons:
- Too easy once you know what you're doing, even on the highest difficulty.
- RTS gameplay was too shallow to be the sort of RTS you can replay over and over and over. It held up ok and was fun for one playthrough, but I had little desire to play it again because the depth just isn't there (which is a shame because the RPG elements/ship-interactions are quite deep and have good potential for different playthroughs).
