So does anyone have a Monitor with a "Aspect Control Function"
Basically it has so many display modes, Standard, Game, sRGB, Scenery, Theatre etc.
If anyone does, what mode do you use with Inquisition?
I've also gone through fps tips, and used "PerfOverlay.DrawFps True", Origin In-game is disabled, and oh wow, it actually shows the correct fps.
MSI Afterburner clocked me in from 30 - 45. With the above console command, it shows I range from 60 - 120fps (Beginning of the game), so I am very pleased, and my worries are put to rest!
Does anyone know if "PerfOverlay.DrawFps True" works with other games? I'm not use to these Console Commands, so thats probably a silly question. I want to see the true nature of how my pc handles Unity. MSI Afterburner was showing 50 - 70fps, so I'd like to see if there's any difference.

Would really be nice if somebody with Twitter could ask this guy how he knows what he knows, or what makes him think what he says in this tweet.
This is the guy you are looking for:
http://forum.bioware...op-design-edit/
My guess is he knows about as much as all of us, just a bit more optimistic.

OK..... so this information is being casually mentioned (for the first time) on a post-release "Let's Play" Twitch stream focusing on content, instead of on Bioware's official messageboard in a 150 page thread they started and in which we are all begging for any kind of comment on patches?
Yea, WTF
Boggles the mind, it really does. Farcical.
We still don't know anything specific though, beyond 'they're working on stuff'.

Posted this on another thread as well, just looking for some help: I just installed my GTX 980 today (YEAH!!!!) but now DA:I is freezing at the menu (I can actualy go into the settings, and the menu works fine for a few minutes, then it freezes). Anyone know of a fix? Has anyone had the same problem (especialy those with a 980)?

When you installed the latest driver, did you do a clean install? I'd recommend a clean install. Then right click on Inquisition in your Origin Library, and click "Repair Game."
See if that makes any difference.

That's my guess too. It's a bit of a... um tease to say there's reason to believe the controls will be addressed without just stating what that reason is...

Hmm.. well he's obviously doing alot of investigating in the banter issue, which is great.
And it looks like it is leading to alot of possible fixes which is also awesome. Seems Allan was involved with that at the same time he was posting in here last week.
Hey, the more they can accomplish and fix, the better. I have not been very interested in many other issues than the pc UI and controls for the most part, so I had not seen this thread. But I am really glad I have yet to start playing after seeing things like this.

Where did you see this exactly?
Regardless of how useful the tool they create now is, this is a very good sign that modding will at least have some groundwork at this early stage.
Somebody in the Cullen romance thread is already messing around with hair mods. It happened just 2 days ago. She managed to unpack the data and are prototype testing 3 new hair styles (look pretty rad too). The people over that forum thread is chipping in and helping out with the various software to extract and repack data.

I'm absolutely amazed at the lack of patches thus far. I mean the game has some serious issues and everyone's asking about patches... it doesn't mean you need to fix every single thing in one patch. A series of patches will do fine tbh ![]()
What also works these days is giving one release date for the console crowd, and then continuing to develop the PC version and releasing it later, EVEN IF THAT MEANS MISSING A PRE-CHRISTMAS RELEASE
It's really crappy launching a game in what should be considered beta if you intend to patch in all the missing game mechanics later on.
I kinda flick between patiently waiting and being very frustrated atm with this and AC Unity being a mess. On the other hand at least ACU has patches being released for it, an apology and communication in general. But hey ho.

Huh, I was just replaying the opening stages last night. How far through I get on this (third) playthrough will depend on how soon the first patch for DA:I is released and what it fixes (walk bind key on kbd/m....).
I really enjoyed the first playthrough, but after that found Geralt to be a really limited canvas. And kind of unlikeable. Beautiful game, though. And rigidly unapologetic about PC being the best platform for seeing that beauty on. Just as rigidly unapologetic about staying true to it's setting and gameplay roots. Which is nice to see. Just wish there was a bit more variety available for multiple playthroughs.
But I am also looking forward to 3. Might have to wait until after Inquisition has been played through a couple of times...and, of course, Arkham Knight...because Batman.
you know a game's gone terribly wrong when people start to talk casually about an other game in the thread supposed to point out concerns about the game hahahahahaha !

Well you have something messed up here:)
Divine Divinity 2002
Beyond Divinity 2004
Divinity 2 Ego Draconis + expansion Flames of Vengeance 2009,2010
( Or Divinity 2 Dragon knight saga which includes expansion already with newest fixes and patches becouse original game was amazingly bugged)
Dragon Commander 2013
Original SIn 2014
That is the correct order. And if you were in love in classic rpg and Diablo 1 gameplay you will love Divine Divinity the most, if you rather modern gamer probably Ego Draconis will be your liking.
And if you love multi you will love to play some coop in Original Sin couse the fun is just amazing.

You are correct, I was confusing the Beyond with Saga

Oh and thank you Alan and the rest for responding. We're like little toddlers begging for attention here
and are quite happy when we get it.
I've gotten quite used to running on top of loot (or if the enemy dies far the loot spawns on me, quite handy!) but I'm getting a sore wrist from not having a keyboard signed "loot all" button. Truly a #1st world problem and definetly not high on the priority list of fixes, but if it comes up feel free to promote it casually by the watercooler.
Early on I had some DirectX crashes too, but haven't had those in ages anymore. Maybe I haven't had any big cutscenes? Or maybe the game likes to stay on for days on the background while I run after our kids and tell them to watch My Little Pony so mommy can go kill some bad guys! ![]()

That is very cool. Though one of my secret wishes is that the first patch will contain a plethora of new hairstyles with better meshes that were completed long ago but simply had to be held out of the initial release because of time and/or resource constraints.

See if that makes any difference.
Drivers ALWAYS require a fresh install to function optimally.
Remove your old driver, have it restart your PC (if Nvidia has it work the same way as AMD/ATI does), install the new driver, restart, and then check whether all is OK again.
(I'm under the assumption your CPU and RAM are up to par here)
Edit: Ah - there the edit-function was. Apparently you have to wait some time till you can edit your post.

I was hoping so too. Its mind boggling that the guy hairs are on the girl hair slider and vise versa. Ive been trying to play with character creation, since thats the only thing I can do atm.. but I really only like one hairstyle, so I cant really make that many characters. Its depressing.. lol

Hello...got the game Friday and played all weekend. First. The game is amazing. So much to love and get into. I can't wait to see it all.
That said I just want to add my voice to the list of people who have a problem with keyboard & mouse. It was my plan to play a warrior/two handed build. Sadly that is not really possible at this point. Fighting is just too awkward at this point. Too often I would lose control of the camera while trying to swing my weapon. Too often I was swinging at nothing. After about twenty hours I gave up that character as a loss. I do hope that I will be able to go back to the character after a couple of patches.
In the meantime I have switched to playing an archer since the 'auto-target' helps with the keyboard mouse issue. The game is back to being enjoyable though I still loss control of the camera from time to time.
Keyboard & mouse is an issue in the game and it should be addressed at some point. At this point half the character classes are effectively broken for me. I realize the devs might have more pressing issues at this point, and I get that. But this is something that needs to be fixed.

Actually, it has been neither fully confirmed nor fully debunked.
The tests ran show that each cycle has to endure way more queries due to Denuvo encrypting every command, forcing an encryption/decryption cycle for all game-related commands - and thus tripling at minimal the amount of queries in each cycle. So while basically it puts more stress on the SSD, it's depending on the quality and speed of the SSD how it affects the SSD. But it's safe to say it isn't the most enduser-friendly of DRM applications...
