Sooooooo....

Since we had no updates for a while and so far we have zero reasons to believe that a patch is ever going to fix the ****** poor KB/M controls, I finally gave up.

I bought an Xbox wifi controller just for this game. After many years as a PC gamers, I finally gave up and accepted the fact that 70% of PC game are cheap assed Console ports.

But Dragon Age : Inquisition was the game that made me crack. So open up a bottle of champaign BW, I am finally accepting to play the game the way you want us to play... Like a console game.

So I install the drivers, test the gamepad, and launch the game, switched the controls to "gamepad" in the menu. "Finally! Now I can experience it properly once I get used to using the gamepad" I think.

Boy... Did I underestimated how BW fucked up the PC port of this game.

Long story short... The game doesn't like me using my new gamepad. I can't get passed the "press start" screen. Tried everything for two days : updating my drivers, restarting my PC, hotfixing the game file.... Nothing! Checked on the forums and from what I can read, many have the same issue with the WIfi gamepad. It just doesnt work.

I tried it on a dozen other games, Gamepad works perfectly.

So the VERY game that made me buy a gamepad... Doesn't work with my gamepad....

But wait, I am just getting started!

Once you switch to "gamepad" mod in the menu and you can't use or don't have a gamepad... Than my friends you are totally fuucked.... As you can't navigate in the menu with your keyboard and mouse any more. And since origin doesn't allow you to change the controll setting from the launcher... YOu can't even play the game anymore...

The only solution : Find the game files, openup a doc with words and change the line "gamepad 1" to "gamepad 0".

Now, I am not goint to do that... Because... I give up.

You won BW. Enjoy your console market. I am getting a refund.  Unless your futur games get perfect scores on PC review from gamers, i won't ever bother buying your shitty ass console ports again.

To think that it is the PC community that made you popular... Trully makes me want to vomit.

DA II, ME III, SWTOR. And now finally a decent game that doesn't work properly on PC...

I am done,

Peace the **** out!

These days PC is having hard time for good games in technical aspect so I am really not that suprised. I actually already expect to have problems with all AAA big releases. Now I am waiting for PC version of GTAV... so many performance issues and bugs to witness:)

Oh god, I can't believe it. They didn't even tried. Good to know before trying your gamepad that there could be NO WAY BACK, jeez.

spec :

windows 7-ultimate 64 bit

gtx 970

16 gig of ram

amd FX 8150 8 cores  with disposable water cooler

DA: I installed on a SSD

in a NZXT case with fan to wazoo.

latest DX  and c++ drivers

I am using the 334.80 beta from Nvidia, for me that the the drivers that crashes the least for me

The game crashes seemingly randomly to the desktop, changing the audio, playing around with video setting does not really have any effect.

i have noticed that it is much more likely to happen when you entering an area that the game is loading and the automatic save is being taken.

nothing in the windows log and no error message on the crash.

when that happens the continue button will send you packing back to the desktop.

in any case any chance to have a debug console command so that i can troubleshoot further ?

Really?! Don't you people have a life? If not, get one! The devs at BW just finished the game and need some time to relax now. How would you feel if you had just finished building a house? Wouldn't you want to rest for some time? You can be glad that they're already working on a patch although they definitely deserve some time off now. Most of all, it takes time! The game is huge. Fixing stuff takes time. Give them some! And quit whining already! I'm not fond of the bugs and design flaws either, but I have some patience at least.

BioWare made me to:

- use a controller, the first time in a BioWare game, using it since day 1, because I already saw it was a console game in the streams.

- accept that Dragon Age is no longer a RPG with tactical aspect, it's hardly a RPG in my opinion.

- accept that Dragon Age is now a bad version of Skyrim.

- never buy a game again from a company that keeps lying in Streams/Videos/Press Releases.

- hate EA even more, because obvious reasons.

-- Command and Conquer (Westwood) -> EA, game series is dead

-- Nees for Speed -> game series is dead

-- SimCity -> LIES OVER LIES, the worst I've ever played

-- Fifa -> same "quality" every year -> not dead, but meh...

-- Dragon Age -> This has nothing to do with Dragon Age, it's Skyrim Age with WoW quests --> probably also dead now, DA2 was the first step into hell

-- Battlefield -> aka Grindfield, grind your items, no anti cheat system, $$$

-- Mass Effect is waiting for being destroyed

We have to be patient. Bioware know that they released something 80% completefor PC. They probably thought  "ok we will release a patch later for the PC community, and everyone will be happy".

We need to keep making noise about this, but also be patient. A patch that compromises UI changes and other things, if it comes, it will take at least a month. We are talking about design modifications to the game, not simple patches. If we get a patch this week I will find hard that it will contain all that we request, it would probably be for the game crashes. So in that sense, it is not bad that the patch has not come yet.

Nevertheless, we need an update from Mark, we really need to know if you are hearing our comments and are making progress or not.

I had a secret hope that they've released a crappy port on PC cause they didn't have time to finish the PC specifics features, and they'll release them some time after launch. But that was wishfull thinking and Allan intervention coupled with Bioware silence on the matter just led me to abandon any hope on the matter.

I finished the game once and will probably never touch it again. But Bioware doesn't care, they already have my money, and laugh at me cause I was stupid enough to trust in their lies.

So, next time... there will be no next time x(

You are a complete ignorant on this ground, and a loud one too. All hostile words aside, let me explain to you how development works. You don't get vacations when a game is finished. You get vacations while the game is being made. People will jump from one project to the next right after the last one is completed. Not to mention there are different departments that have different crunch times, different vacation periods, and different schedules.

Keep it cool, I'm sure most of us have very good lives outside this forum.

Haha the ignorance on the matter is quite hilarious.

Dude, before posting things you clearly don't know about, try and learn how a game production process works and how the industry works.

Sometime I'm amazed by people ready to defend the undefendable ...

Guys calm down, they were all merely busy making a patch for SWTOR that makes it even more simplistic than it already was... they're bound to work on a patch for this now they fired their nuke at SWTOR too... dear god these guys are sinking further and further on a daily basis atm.

It's shocking as hell how far they have fallen in recent years. The page head says it all: "A division of EA". Lest there be any confusion between this and glorious Bioware before EA gobbled them up.

Apologies to have to be so blunt with you, but you are being incredibly naive.

While I personally have no qualms with the game, I do know that the game has been released for sometime now and there are people who haven't gotten past the main menu yet.

If that house was beginning to collapse the day after I'd moved in, I'd expect them to be working as much as possible to fix it.

Now of course they deserve our courtesy and understanding, but they can't just sit on their laurels now because the game has been released.

Still cant play the game, cant return it since the key is used so the reseller wont take it back, fix this game or give me a refund. constantly crashing with directX errors (AMD card, your provided fix for updated beta drivers doesnt solve anything.) O and stop routing your technical forums back to an EA forum which has no support personnel what so ever!!

Nope, they took our money and delivered an unfinished product. No rest for them until the game does look like the one they promised to deliver.
