add an optional autoattack in pause mode
Now that's an interesting possibility...
Action Mode - pause - assign attack orders - unpause - auto-attack works as normal.
If they can't add it (they can, it's in Tac Cam right now) I like this idea because I am usually making heavy use of the pause, especially early on when I'm still learning how to do things.
Kinda. 70% of the time I run as Inq, bashing, smashing, controlling the **** out of archers and creeps (chain pull+kilck is the best skill I've ever seen, apart from dragon fury which I'm so eager to get). Always one more tank warrior with taunts, who does good enough without my permanent intevention. Tactical camera to move people around if in danger. Controlling mage to cast barrier when i really need it. Archer to focus dps pesky ghost which I cannot pull and stun. And vitel weapon buffs to heal on kill, and you are good to go.
Also goo flasks are imba, period.
Dont think so. Remember that there is no direct heals apart from pots, so every mob group out there is ready to **** up your day if you do not do your thing. As a 2h warrior I rarely have need to autoattack, I always use skills and move around to get better position. Doubles for tank warrior. With a shiled you almost run'taunt'nshield'n'def all day. Dunno for rogue, standart dps class turns into click-to-death diablo style ranged shyte. Might be right. Mage's auto is kinda weak compared to others, all in abilities, control (weakness op) and barries are bros for lyfe so dumby varric can dps everyshing down.
@Aron Dalentor
I was more asking for how you mapped your keys, and what actions and functions are easier or harder for you with the current setup. The actual tactics you use are interesting, but I was kind of hoping to figure that stuff out for myself.
Not multiplayer!
Ohh..... I had..... I had *such* high hopes for multiplayer in my Dragon Age franchise....
The sarcasm is real, lol. It's not just normal cheats though, they can alter your own mp character with it, even take your abilities away.... they can even kill you and prevent you from being rezzed.
Screen flicker at 00:06 tell me that isn’t related to hardware failure as I thought when I saw it flicker briefly on the screen, still it never happend in any other game before this, not crysis 3, not any other mantle games like thief and civilizartion beyond earth, still if anyone knows what cause it, please do share...
Exclamation marks on the mini map that belonged to the specialization quest at Skyhold that doesn’t disappear even though the quest is done and the NPC are gone…..
I'd say this game has a few bugs, it took me around 12 minutes to capture the 6 videos I shared hear, now today.
Youtube link below!
The book on the left that says Examine, I have already done so a few times, it still shows up as something to examine…. The book pile to the right involves a quest that I’m already done with, so shouldn’t it you know stop showing up when scanning, nothing happens when I try to read the book…

...Then, again, I'm one of the very few that didn't get "SOOOOO PISSED OMG THEY F****D IT ALL OVER" in DAII. I still had fun with the faster paced, actiony battle system and yes, I thought the story was pretty interesting. Shocking, I know.
The only thing I think DAO was more objectively and clearly better at were two things: DAO had a better structured and more interesting story overall; much wider variety of locations and dungeons, whereas DAII felt like it had very few assets that kept being recycled for dull dungeons. ..
Wanted to quote cause you pretty spot on, and no, not shocking.
From a purely a PC gamer's perspective (last console I owned was a nintendo, which I pretty much used for Contra and Nobunaga's Ambition)... DA:O was a game written for the PC. DAII was a console game. Period. it was not tactically strategic, it was twitch. that gave me a case of the sads.
I understand the outrage over daII, I was one of the initial ragers. but, even with all of it's failings, it wasn't a bad game. just a REALLY crappy console port. I actually like that arishok meme about it.
now DA:I is a fantastic game... but it's still a console port. consoles have gotten better, so it's less ...painful but in no way was it designed for the PC. I'm over 100 hours in, and I'm still nowhere finished. a giantic endeavor.
my dissappointments (Deaths) have all occurred to 2 things. 1. lack of swimming/floating (sore spot) 2. the terribad "tactical interface" on the more difficult fights (even more of a sore spot). Had they actually built this for use on a PC, it would have rekindled my faith in them as a producer. but, It now seems evident that they are simply just purveyors of console games, and have no intention of doing anything else.
Sad, really.

Alright, but the pile to the right is part of a quest that i've done ten hours back or so!

Sorry you are correct. I missed that on first watch.
ok I don't know if this is the place to post this but since its on pc ill try. this is about your stupid mini game to get the red lyrium pack id did littery everything on the first try and you guys being the supper great people you are made the very last one undoable I got the first two on first try but no madder how much a fkin reload your dumb video freezes when I try to get the last one. id swear you did this on purpose because every other video even the last on works until the very last lyrium I even get it where it says drag but it wont mover and as soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnn as I let go videos starts again WWWWWTTTTTTTTTTFFFFFFFFFF guys
OK after lurking this thread since day one its time for me to chime in. First off a big hello to everyone some of you feel like online friends after reading some of the regular contributors posts for a couple of weeks.
First Im mostly pissed about the lying about it being a PC first game. Lie big time. Then the back peddling from Adam who in my opinion should have just stayed away from the conversation if he wasn't there in an official capacity and then just adding more BS to the pile.
As cheat engine shows you can very easily add more camera zoom. DA:O PC version had it console did not. Why the change if this is PC first? Lie.
Diablo 3 has PC controls and Console controls what is so hard about this? You all ready had the template for PC. Lie again.
I held out on this and missed my 24 hour window based on the fact this was going to be fixed,I'm not mad about not having a patch as I am about no Dev comments nor apologies. I really want my money back please. Until this is fixed. At least come on here and let us know what you are going to do about this debacle.

I mostly played Origin that way, as I have auto pause on enemy sighted. I only used the tac cam when I saw that there was going to be a difficult fight otherwise I just used the default pause mechanism and assign order to each member of the party. This is my preferable choice of playing and it seems it would be possible as u said. The tac cam is that way but it's veeeery clunky.
Perhaps you didn't read what I wrote: I explicitly said there was the possibility was wrong. And so I was. It's that simple. Again, calm down.
I'd be honestly impressed if the developers really read the forums. Not because they should read it, but quite the contrary: because most of the posts here are just toxic, not to say absolutely dumb. There's little to none actually constructive critcism and FAR TOO MUCH whining.
We are at page 172 and counting! Bioware either don't read these posts or can't be bothered. Time for constructive criticism has long passed I think. Time to storm the Bastille

Sad but true. At this point pretty much everything has been said. We are just trying to get some sort of response... I just called my credit card company and got a refund for the purchase of DA:I. Not much left to do I'm afraid.
What gets me is that there is no auto follow or autolock as some people have said that allows your guy to follow the target if he wanders - it is so much worse when you cannot attack and walk. So not only does your guy not auto follow the target but you have to wait for whatever attack you were in the middle of (as he walked away) before you can chase after him (never used TC except for big battles since pausing every attack is not fun to me).
Made me switch to a mage (which I havent played yet on DA:O or DAII) and it is somewhat playable.
I just want to be able to play this game exactly like Dragon Age Origins, I want to play the game fully in the isometric view like Origins and to have control exactly like that, not with this weird circle thing in the middle for a pad...

If it's not broke don't fix it? Agreed...
so how long does it take to give us new menus? And a new tactical combat like in DAO?
Bioware I will as pc player will never pre order a game from you again, You fucked up. again. I paid a lot of money and what did you give me . I can t wait for the witcher 3 . CD project RED know to make a pc game . If you want to be slaves to EA , the worst company in the world. be my guest. But not with my money
I have google alerts on a patch - came across this one - everybody is pretty much treading water on the news-front, getting their news from Twitter, and NOT the fora, or a press release...
I would personally also wonder why this can't be reliably reproduced, unless all their test-pc's are hooked up to debuggers/CVS'es.
In addition - reliably does not equate "cannot" - so even if there's an inkling of an issue, and you have an entire forum full of people WITH the issue, what's stopping them from contacting us, asking for a walkthrough on any type of livestreaming app to show them - and also show our system configs?
We all want a patch, most of us would be HAPPY to help them pinpoint.

Actually, the witcher 2 had and still has I believe a LOT of performance issues. For some reason, the game just doesn't look so good for the way it runs. I've seen many threads on steam complaining about how they had monstruous rigs and the game still didn't work properly. Not to mention the mod made by a developer called Combat Remix or something like that. That had some game-breaking bugs.
Don't get me wrong, still a great game though.

Interesting how Mark clearly states that party banter won't be fixed on the first patch. I think that means they are releasing a patch soon as they now know that fixing party banter requires more time. Hopefully this first patch aleviates the friiiiiiiiiiickin pc controls.

While I liked both Witchers quite a lot (though probably not as much as many) I felt the UI of TW2 was even worse than DA:I's (the inventory screen IMO is a mess) and for all the alleged "PC-friendlieness", I played it with a controller as well: as a left-handed player I usually bind most of the keys to the numpad (although some of the keys were "hardwired" - but since it's everyone's darling CDPR that's ok, I guess
) - that however made parts of the game - notably the QTE's (yeah, f*****g QTE's) impossible to master since the game engine could not prompt me which key to press (giant octopus fight FTW!).
So my advice: manage your expectations (even with TW3), generally don't pre-order any game (or even buy it directly post launch since early adopters pay more while often only getting beta versions nowadays - talk about mismanaged incentives by the game industry - if you wait you get a better game for less money
).

I never had issues on my personal system, but I know plenty who did - neither did I have issues with the combat rebalance mod, I loved it
I hated the inventory UI in W1 and 2, but I would beg to differ with those who find the KBM-controls on the Witcher worse than the current DA:I UI - mostly because even Geralt, in BOTH Witcher games could attack/fight better as warrior class as the current DA:I UI - I know a lot of people really hated the chain-attacks, which I loved, and missed in W2, which was mashier - I actually mapped my V t Z cause I am so used to that button ;-)
Melee combat for me, in DAI is tedious - for reasons mentioned over 172 pages, and I just politely, wanted to state that if DAI had some of W2's KBM controls, I'd be happier, even though they don't compare a 100%, as Geralt doesn't have squaddies :-) .
