The devs deserve a break because they've been working on it for 3+ years. And I really really hate people saying "BIOWARE THIS IS THE LAST STRAW, DA2 WAS THE LAST STRAW BUT THIS IS THE LAST LAST STRAW, ALSO ME3, BUT THIS ONE, REALLY, THE LAST LAST LAST STRAW". I'm sure that's an actual direct quote from someone. My computer is reasonably high-end, and it works perfectly for me. It's just disrespectful to talk **** about developers when they ARE working to fix the issues. It's better that they're working on it rather than coming on these forums and seeing people talking negatively about something they've worked hard to create, it would make them feel like absolute crap.

I wonder if I can pay for my games in patches like Bioware sells me their product? I first pay a little, and then 3 weeks later pay the rest for the patch.

Then you must have been able to play through all of DA:I without a gamebreaking bug that stops you from completing a main quest.  Tried reloading from before i started said quest and it still happens.  They delayed the game to fix bugs yet here one is, destroying my ability to continue on with the game.

The only annoying bug I've had is direct x crashes. The way I fixed this was changing Ambient Occlusion to SSAO. I used to have it crash around the war table and a few other parts. Now it crashes maybe once or twice an entire playthrough.

I believe they said they're working on 3 patches with one nearly out there, so you just have to be a bit more patient. If you're not attacking the devs then it's fine to be disappointed. I just hate people telling the developers they suck, or they didn't work hard enough, or that they should be on the forums more, or that they don't deserve a break.

Yeah, personal attacks on the Devs (or anyone) are not ok at any time, for any reason. Mistakes have clearly been made, but that doesn't excuse the vitriol we are seeing.

Lest we forget, prior to DA2 releasing, mike Laidlaw was a regular poster here, then everyone started calling for him and mark darrah and David gaider and others to be fired and other ridiculous things. Now? An announcement about romances is about all the forums have seen from mike in years.

Yelling is not the way to make your message heard, especially when you are yelling into a vacuum.

I have been lucky enough to have the game not crash on me, but then again I have to put all the video settings on low so this game doesn't kill my gpu and cpu.  And I never said I was attacking the devs, just pointing out that the game was delayed to fix bugs and yet there's a gamebreaking bug that I've experienced.

Well I never did posted in the DA2 forum in 2011 & 2012 as I was still playing ME2 and skyrim and didn't really care about it thanks to angry joe saying it's not too bad so I don't have any high opinion of it. Although I did know there was a huge sh*t storm in the DA2 forms.

First, let me start by saying that I have been a fan of Bioware (the OLD Bioware) forever.  Hell, I still play Jade Empire (if that isn't saying how old I am as I also remember Shattered Steel *laughs*).

I loved Mass Effect.  I loved Dragon Age: Origins.  I really enjoyed Mass Effect 2.  I was ok (not overly happy, but I wasn't frothing at the mouth either) with Dragon Age 2.  I was...how do I put this, happy up to the Star Brat of Mass Effect 3.  Then, yes, I was one of those ragers/Hold The Line people.  I was...shall we say, more than a little upset.  And that put heavy doubt into any more games (though, it did destroy my hopes for any more Mass Effect games to ever be bought again).

Along comes Dragon Age: Inquisition.  I was very skeptical to the point of not buying it because I was afraid that Bioware (see EA Overlords) would destroy yet ANOTHER franchise.  But after reading so many different reviews, and talking to people who were far more skeptical with me praise Dragon Age: Inquisition, that sold it for me.

Yes, I'm sorry I had to write that and probably bored most of you, but there's a reason for that preface.  I really do enjoy what I have played of Dragon Age: Inquisition.  But like so many, I'm facing the DX crashes and the "slow-motion" effect of the gameplay/cutscenes (and I have a very high end laptop).  I've tried a few of the "fixes" that have be posted around but not all of them seem to work.  Will I give up on this game?  No.  But what I do want...and really hope...that Bioware fixes this issues, and quickly.  I'm not gonna jump up and down, scream, rant and rave that they aren't moving fast enough.  Do I wish they had applied said fixes before they shipped the game?  Yes.  I won't lie about that.  But I can be patient.  Up to a point.  Please Bioware, fix these issues as quickly as humanly possible.  I want to have faith in at least one of your franchises.

I respect the devs even if I don't agree with certain design and gameplay decisions they decide to take.

That said, I don't think it's smart business practice to go on mass holiday after releasing a product that is likely to require repair/improvement/maintenance.

In any line of business, including my own.

That's why companies have PR/moderators to talk to people.

And it's sad that those guys seems to be more active on twitter.

I don't mean anything bad but those jobs exist for a purpose, I don't understand why Bioware doesn't have them here and instead it's fans who do it.

Divinity Original Sin has a smaller company, they worked also a lot of years of their game. they even took a break but they still patched their game even day 1. Just saying if a smaller comapany can do it then a bigger company could also do it.

Bioware has the money and man power, they did a good job with Mass effect serie, i just wish them to do the same with DA serie.

Jade empire 2 would be nice, they could always ask M$ for help and make jade empire 2 as a time exclusive for the xBox 1 since jade empire was the same for the xBox and then PC one year later while banning it for the PS 4.

Sure, and Allan has been on here, even though he's not a moderator or PR. Mike, Mark and David aren't PR either, nor are they moderators. I'm not sure who the "BiowareMod1/2/3" folks are, but in theory, they're the ones responsible for the moderation of these forums.

I am the last person to tell anyone how they should be feeling. If a video game being buggy is what makes you emotional and/or angry...cool. All I wanted to point out, was that it is not ok for members of any community or group, anywhere to demand the firing/resignation of anyone that they didn't vote for, simply because they are unhappy about a product.

Make known your discontent/disappointment etc, but direct it at the product. And be specific as to why you're unhappy. It sux, 'cause reasons, is as useless to them as 'omg, it's guuuud', although one is likely to make them feel better than the other.

Example: I am unhappy with the keyboard/mouse users being unable to bind a walk key, when the walk animation clearly exist in the PC version, since controller pc players can 'walk'. This makes me feel like players like me are of little to no importance.

Feedback like that, when expressed civilly might actually draw more devs to be active here and engage with forum users again, instead of it all being left to Allan (who we all appreciate greatly....!)

That was a hardware error, don't know your system specs or anything so I don't know where the problem was, but it looked like a signal strength problem common with DP 1.2 cables.

So what do I do about it? :(

Change the display cable?

The thing is, this does not happen in any other game, mantle or non-mantle game, is that normal if it's a dp 1.2 cable?

These are my pc-specs:

Can I just point out that this topic is 'PC Community concerns', i.e. a place to voice constructive dissatisfaction of the PC version of DA:I. Starting a blame game, talking about who was fired/resigned or engaging in a Console vs. PC war argument will simply derail the thread for the devs/community manager and nothing will be achieved. Let's try keep it specific to the purpose and constructive, eh?

There are 150 pages "constructive criticism" - everything that can be said was said, and still no answers from BW. To me it seems they don't care, so the time to "constructively" criticise has passed and now only the criticise part is left...

Few things..

  1. I'd be amazed if I heard the control system on PC had been worked on for 3 weeks, let alone 3 years worth.
  2. There's no way, absolutely no way, that all the problems we're seeing now weren't flagged BEFORE release. They knew about the issues and they released anyway, so saying we should cut them some slack is meaningless when they were no doubt already aware and already preparing for the patches way before the actual release.
  3. There is no excuse, whatsoever, for the complete lack of official information on what's in the patches and what the ETA is on the patches.

can you explain me where your wisdom about this is from? are you married with one?

You don't have to be married to a developer to gain insight into their whereabouts.

Mike Laidlaw, Creative DIRECTOR for DAI...you know, they guy who sold us the lie that DAI is a game "made by PC gamers, for PC gamers"....well, he tweeted not long ago how he will be on vacation for the rest of the year.

If that does not give you a good indication of what Bioware think of their fans, then you are clearly blind.

I have waited for weeks for a patch.

I read the posts and read how customers are trying to appease each other.

After the announcement in twitch that was not even mentioned here by a Bioware employee, I see that this firm disregards their customers.

After CoD MW2 I stopped buying Cod series, after BF4 I will not buy a BF series.

Now I will not buy or play Dragon Age series. DAI is the last of the series that I bought.

All the Companies believe that their customers will come back and buy their product no matter what.

In addition, live in the illusion that there is no competition at all and the customers have no memories.

For me, I will not buy a product that will make me feel bad, stupid and angry.

I agree.

It is terrible work ethic and very very poor service to provide a broken product and then go hide from unsatisfied customers.

None of this would have been a problem if Bioware told us "Sorry guys, this is really NOT a PC game, you will have to play with a controller if you buy the PC version". But why didn't they say this? Because they would lose a LOT of sales!

Instead, a month before release, suddenly we start seeing the PC UI. A MONTH BEFORE RELEASE! This clearly indicates that it never even existed before then.

It was quickly knocked together when Bioware realized this is going to be a problem, because we kept asking them "Where is the UI for this PC game, then?".

To compound the issue, Mike blatantly LIED on video about the game being a PC game.

There is NO excuse for such wilful deception.

So I have absolutely no sympathy for them being tired or whatever. They do NOT deserve a break in my opinion until they fix this. Or publicly apologize and refund every single customer who bought the PC version, admitting that they deceived us into buying the game, based on false premise.

we have no idea what happened, why such design decisions were made or who made them. apparently some people embrace the game as it is and find it enjoyable, so it didnt' go all wrong.

but this silence, lack of information is stunning, it sends a message: people are generally happy with this game and view it as a breakthrough/RPG revolution, we have your money so we don't care if you, a irrelevant group of always-whining PC gamers, like it. i don't really care if any of devs come here and give us all the info i need to calm myslef, afaik they have some community managers on the payroll. welp... i don't feel very managed at this moment.

Derek started his post explaining that devs are people and have feelings. guess what, those always-whining PC gamers are people too. i think majority of them followed your creations since they could grab a mouse or read first word. spitting on the most loyal fans out there is very wise marketing practice indeed.

at this point i'm led to believe the only way you can tell the company (either choice was made by the publisher or the studio) that you don't like the decisions they made is to not buy the game or, if you already did, get a refund. apparently, they are deaf to any other form of criticism.
