Assassin's Creed Unity is broken, so Ubisoft is giving players free DLC, season pass holders a free game
Step in the right direction Ubisoft, EA take a note.

Dragon Age 2 well enough, so Bioware handed out free copies of Mass Effect 2...
And a certain Extended Cut DLC is free...

And as said before DA:I isn't exactly 'broken'. I'm not saying there aren't issues, but it isn't as broken as AC:U was at release and apparently still is after several patches...

For PC players who want to play with kb+m it's (mostly) broken. With a controller it plays just fine :P.

BTW: I can't be the only one who - after all that time passing without a word from BW - will be quite disappointed if the first patch won't be quite substantial...

So, here's my plan on how one can get some answers. It includes duck tape, nails, gasoline, camera, and ticket to Edmonton...

Oh hell no. You stay out of my city with your crazy-ass-joker plan. :P

At this point, if it's anything short of the Second Coming I'll be disappointed.

I didn't buy ME3 at launch or DA2. Sequels usually are not as good. I haven't purchased DAI yet either. I've learned my lesson with Bethesda/ZOS with ESO finally too. What I'm saying is, until the consumer stops buying video games at launch or pre-purchasing them this will never stop. I love these games but I don't want to deal with the control issues. We have become paying beta testers.

Angry Joe is such a tool. He spends literally over half his review talking about how bad the UI, tac cam, and general PC port is then still gives it an 8/10. What a ****** idiot.

lol, literally over half? He touches on it briefly, says everything that needs to be said, and moves on. I found his review to be fair and thorough, there was very little to disagree with for me.

I mean, how do you think a rating scale should work, then? DA:I provides hours upon hours of entertainment, in several vast and graphically beautiful maps, with fully voiced characters, meaningful choices, great writing, rich story with several branching points, etc. In short, DA:I is exactly what you'd expect to get when you are allowed to throw a metric crap tonne of time, effort, and money at making a video game. And if you don't screw it up royally, you are going to end up with a game that deserves a high rating, compared to the rest of the industry.

In that context, I think 9/10 for the console version and 8/10 for the PC version is entirely justified. I can understand that if your game is crashing and you can't play it, or you really really hate the PC controls/interface, then 8/10 seems high. But most PC players, while certainly not fans of the controls/UI, are probably not pinning their entire enjoyment of the game on those things.

For my part, I am very disappointed in the UI and controls, and particularly disappointed by what I think this reveals about Bioware's motivations and the perception of their core audience. But I am still enjoying the game quite a lot, and 8/10 describes my experience pretty well, all things considered.

This is the kind of post that assures me that Allan, and anyone else who might be involved in working on the upcoming patches, have stopped reading or have been mandated to ignore this thread.

Because you respond to this.  If you have any self respect, or integrity about your work, you stand up for yourself and address these accusations, policy(ies) be damned.

What if someone sent a message or a tweet to one of the devs to ask for an update?  or to respond on this forum?  Just something to let us know our concerns have not been forgotten.

Frankly, that's more of an annoyance but hardly a game breaking bug - I'm playing all the fights in taccam and even with the auto-switch to character bug it's perfectly manageable. I wouldn't want to play with kb+m however after trying for a few minutes.

happy to report after a very CTD heavy first 20 hours i haven't had a crash this entire week...i still think the PC needs optimized controls ( i find it highly annoying that i have mages with 10+ spells and can only use 8, on top not being able to bind any other mouse buttons, would very much like to be able to put block on my thumb mouse button instead of holding in a number button the whole time) as well as an auto-attack and right click move to object. (if the AI enemies can path find so should my character dammit!)

I played much less than even DA2 Becuase control is really annoyingly bad as well as the sides quest. Story isn't even that impressive as well.

The wartable and cutscene crashes are making the game unplayable. It is broken.

The best analogy is still a good meal (which you paid for in advance) left on your table with nothing to eat it with but a plastic spoon. Then the waiters go on vacation.

Reminds me in some ways of NWN1 -- a big leap in technology, but had huge, obvious defects.

no the controls are not broken, they are just not what you want them to be! the game is broken for people that have constantly crashes or cant even start the game and this will have highest priority. but as long as it goes i hope they address a few of the control problems with the next patch too. and im pretty sure the higher zoom in tactical is one of the latest things they will fix (if ever) because unlike just zoom out the camera like in the little cheat engine thing they have to solve problems like fade out object (there is a reason no one shows this little hack in closed quarters, because it just doesnt work) and its totally possible the frostbyte engine doesnt support this.

In the same vein: for people that have constantly crashes, the game isn't broken, but they don't have the computer they'd want to have :P.

It's of course true that declaring something as "broken" often entails a subjective component. That being said I really understand people who don't want to play the game with the current kb+m controls because aside from a subjective component I think one can make a fairly convincing argument that the game was designed to be played with a controller.

End of two weeks and still no patch....

It takes time yes but they could clearly publish one with quick fixes.
