Has there been any update from bioware? Or are we playing the waiting game, something that shouldn't be happening?

Because with no new information regarding what the team is doing currently (and i mean now, not the general community manger post from a couple days ago) all that will happen is increase community unrest.

As to potential  replies that we should give them time : If a service is done pro bono, then yes i agree. But each of us paid money for a product that is barely working for some and for many it is not working at all. Refund is always an option of course but to suggest it to a client, well that's just further insult to injury. No one buys something to be forced to return it. The game was marginally falsely advertised concerning how it would look like for pc, nothing ground shattering but still painful. Because of this I see no reason to be leniant on the devs or producer, maybe the producer  especially since it's EA we're talking about. If nothing else I would expect good customer service to give regular updates as to what the devs have managed to fix and what is currently worked on.

haha, don't expect them to give us patch anytime soon... They don't care. They might fix something in 2 weeks or so, but the most of the game will be like it is right now. PC is clearly not the main platform as we can all see from the game itself.

I just love it when console gamers say we are all a bunch of whiners for even suggesting these changes we want fixed in this thread and we should just fix everything ourselves or learn to play.

I remember you from the walk toggle thread because of your profile pic! Sup. The fact that Mark Darrah specifically mentioned driver support, framerate issues/hitching in cutscenes, kb/mouse controls and UI issues and the fact that he mentioned some of these issues would be addressed in the next patch makes me pretty optimistic that some of this stuff really is going to get a fix of some sort.

You mean just like they mentioned how DA:I would be developped for the PC specifically and how they value their consumers above all and want to gives them the best experience they can ? And we all know how it turned out ?

'cause I feel a distinct difference between what Bioware mentions/promises and what it actually does. Cue the very reason this thread exists.

It is really sad, I never thought to see the day that we had to wait and hope for a patch to fix the controls of a Dragon Age game for PC.

YOU SOLD A BROKEN PRODUCT!

After the reused levels in DA2, the botched ending in ME3 now THIS?

I am so done Bioware I AM DONE!

That's to put it lightly.

I was going to buy it for PC after playing it on my friend's xbox, but now I don't know what the hell I'm suppose to do because my PC meets only the minimum req. (or maybe a little above them) and people have a sh*tloads of problems even while playing on a decent machines. Oh, and I do have an nvidia card to boot, just wonderful.

And 50$ is not a joke, especially where I live. I know we're suppose to get a refund if it's that bad but I've never done it and not so sure about the whole system. I can't just afford to spend so much on something that won't even work.

Thanks for the link!

Well, it's only going to get worse after today since the game has just been released in Europe as well. Still plan on playing but I don't really get this "I AM DONE" crap lol, if you like the way a game looks you buy it and if not you don't. I don't care who makes it.

Refer to this: http://forum.bioware...rns/?p=17816258

In addition:

  • I should be able to use my mouse to spin crafting items around, not use AWSD because that's just confusing and unusual since 99.99999% of other games lets you use the mouse to rotate items in menues.
  • Be able to use the mouse to rotate the characters in the character screen when equipping them with gear instead of having to use AWSD (I almost cried when I figured out I could finally spin them to look at the shields using AWSD, I was getting really frustrated before. Not intuitive at all.)
  • Using AWSD to spin in NPC conversation is counter-tuitive. Should be mouse optional.
  • Why can't I see my current equipped stats while preparing a new piece of crafting gear? I have resorted to writing down the stats to make sure I wasn't wasting materials in making new gear or weapons. Really redundant.
  • My character should be running to the active aggro mobs to attack after they kill one in a group (like in Origins or DA2) It's really difficult to hit AWSD, 12345678 and TAB to move on to my next target as a melee - I end up wasting time attacking nothing since I'm blinded by all the special effects (I had to tone them down so I could clue in when I was off the mark) It should at least be optional to turn on or off for those that want to super micro manage positional attacks.

GAme is still great though, 32 hours in, just got to Skyhold XD, barely explored anything outside of Hinterlands, but I cleared it! Except now I have a bunch of Personal Quests from Blackwall to dig out of there lol... god damnit.

Speak for yourself. Don't dismiss people's frustrations with the problems the game is having, it really does not help.

And for your information, this is not a case of like or dislike. the PC controls on DAI is BROKEN.

People bought the game in faith in Bioware's assurance that this will be a PC game. It is not. It is instead a console port with very poorly adapted controls, among other things.

We are not all so meh about Dragon Age as you. Some of us are really passionate about the franchise and have been anticipating the game for a long time, just to be disappointed.

To those here with Nvidia cards who are suffering from game crashes during cutscenes and on the war table and then get a DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG message on desktop, I had the same but managed to get rid of it by turning off "Origin in-game" (that is how it is called in the Dutch version of the interface, at least). I was suffering crashes in nearly every cutscene and visits to the war table, but since changing that setting in Origin 1,5 days ago I have had zero crashes while I have been playing many, many hours and have been taking my time during war table visits :)

Hope some more of you are helped with this.

Maybe that Optimist guy is speaking now...

But what if the situation at Bioware right now is one where alot of the design team leaders are upset because the pc build that got released is not the latest, and alot of these obvious faults are so obvious because they've been fixed already.  What if...

Nahh..  wasn't even halfway through typing and I didn't even believe my own opinion.

And I will keep trying to bring BW attention to this huge issue that makes it impossible for some of us to even start the game :(

And it looks like it will be another day for me to just look through topic where people post pics of their characters and be jealous :P

Hmm, actually I have been waiting for over a year for this game and I've even recently replayed Dragon Age 1 & 2 ready to play this game after. Also I am only speaking for myself you are correct, I just don't think loosing your temper helps anything and those kinds of comments are amusing to me.

I still have faith that this will be fixed, my so called "meh" attitude is called having patience in this case. Looks like you misunderstood my intent.

I personally don't mind the PC controls that much, I'm already used to them, but I get that it frustrates a lot of people and that they want a fix. And I hope you get it. However, I'd really prefer if Bioware first focuses on actually making the game playable because for me it keeps crashing to desktop, as well as showing a few graphical hiccups (shadow flickering and head meshes spiking off into the distance, poor Cullen's face). And yes all my hardware is up to date and Origin is disabled in game and all that jazz, didn't fix anything. I do run a nvidia card however.

You may not like the controls but at least your game is WORKING for you. I wish I could say it was working for me.

From what I have been able to play though, it's a lot of fun and look forward to be able to play it PROPERLY. Maker knows I've waited long enough for this game  already...

Its just a bit concerning as this game was done by most of the people who made the original dragon age. Why this time they prioritised console over PC is beyond me as DA was always a PC game at heart.....

It would be nice if bioware told us at least what issues with the pc controls/ui that they plan to address and possibly a timeframe.  As of now the game is unplayable for a lot of people, and i personally am holding off to play (I would have returned it but it was past the 24 hour window once i started playing) in hopes that they at least fix a few things to at least make it tolerable.  It sucks just sitting here not knowing if they will or will not or when.

Don't get me wrong the game seems amazing and i really want to play it, but its pretty difficult and frustrating with the controls.  If they fixed the other issues many are complaing about that would be an added bonus.

I just keep trying to look on the bright side "controls and error's/bugs problems are fixable", if you don't believe they will fix this it will just stress you out more. I'd like them to fix it quickly myself since I have an operation in 8 days and I will be gone for a few weeks after recovering.

That's actually a more plausible scenario than bioware acknowledging their own fuckups.

You know what scares me more though? The thought of "what if they didn't push the release date back?", imagine how bad it would have been then, a lot of these bugs sound pretty basic/game breaking and easy to catch upon testing in my opinion. Wondering how these managed to slip the net which is usually pretty good.

Well they certainly fell short of delivering for PC in my opinion, too. Which is why I'm here. I just don't think they'd bother mentioning specific issues if they weren't already planning on addressing them.

But I've been wrong before. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ What would be even better is if they gave us a bigger grace period for returns so people who don't have faith that things will be fixed can get their money back and buy the game again when and if things do get fixed. That would say a lot about how confident bioware was about fixing these things.

Just fix the freezing. Please. Games are meant to be fun... Its not fun watching the soldiers march, and then the game freezes.

Seriously...
