Good to know that these issues are being worked on but its mind boggling to me that the game went out in this state with so many basic usability issues on PC.

Good to hear although completely meaningless until the fixes are actually implemented. Hopefully someone will keep us posted on various development aspects of this over time.
My main issue at the moment is half the game being unvoiced (only certain characters and cutscenes for some reason...which I'm capable of reading but still annoying) whereas the other major problem is related to this with the cutscenes and the facial animations of the characters being in a frozen creepy open mouthed grin. I'm sure there are plenty of other things that need fixing.
I do have to ask though how it came to this. Did no one even try to play it on PC? This is like the Bethesda and PS3 fiasco for Skyrim except this time is it Bioware...hopefully everything is fixed soon.

Well, finally.
Is there any news about what this patch will fix, or an estimate of when it will be available?
Because I'm pretty damn tired of being kept in the dark, as I'm sure everyone else is.

So are my darkest fears unfounded Mr. Darrah? That the game engine itself did not allow you to put in mouse-driven movement, auto move-to-target and walk toggle? I hope so.
But it begs another question. If the engine did not stop you from implementing rudimentary PC movement controls that you and most other Devs have used for years what did stop you from doing so?

Yeah well, now that you've got your hands on my money i expect you to work faster
Nah seriously, this whole UI + controls mess needs to be addressed in priority, the tac UI is a headache to use and i keep forgetting to press that effin button so my character keeps attacking... Please don't go all Ubisoft on us like they did with watchdogs (and unity, but at least they're trying to fix this one. Ok, that might have something to do with the game being a money cow with all those microtransactions)

With the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition, we've been hearing a number of concerns from members of our PC community, including:
- Driver support
- Hitching and frame rate issues in cutscenes
- Feedback on keyboard and mouse controls
- General user interface optimizations for PC
We've been following these issues closely and are looking into them.
Player experience is a top priority for us. Our goal is to address as many of these as possible in our upcoming patches, including some in our next patch, which is underway. We’ll release further details in the coming days and will continue to monitor your concerns.
Your feedback is important to us, and we appreciate your contribution to making Dragon Age: Inquisition a better overall experience.
Got a patch for the Origins app not recognizing direct x 11? It wants dir x 10, already put a report in. Am a little peeved it won't let me play Inquisition. Was a HUGE fan of DA:O by the way.

Before they do that they need to address the game entirely not working for some of us.
I am one of those said people.

Optimizing for console, they announced before DAII release that they were going to be paying more attention to console players. Unfortunately, I still own TWO desktops and that's not going to change any time soon. lol

Maker be praised! Really, please: make it fast and take it seriously.
Main things to me (in order of importance):
tactical camera should have a much higher zoom-out capacity to be usable; game should be able to be fully played in full isometric view and movement made via left mouse clicks;
menus, there is just to many items and skills cumbersome submenus,there should be a fast way to transit from item to skill menu AND items and skills should have one screen each (so that one can see all equipped items and backpack items in the same "menu" screen, for example) just like Baldur'sGate2, DragonAge2, but better than all those: NeverwinterNights1 -- NOW THAT is how a PC game interface is done, clean, beautiful, out of the way, and fully functional, trully NeverwinterNights1 has one of the best (if not THE BEST) "western-real-time-pausable-combat-RPG" interfaces I've ever seen (and, it's your own game Bioware, learn from it);
autoattack, it's lacking, and PC gamers want a tactical RPG and not to worry about having to hold a key just for the selected character to attack;
Really, there is no mystery: Just check Baldur'sGate2 and DragonAge1 combat, mix them up with the best of both; use NeverWinterNights1 interface (or something truly similar to it); make the camera (much) more flexible... And there you go, you got a great PC game.

Hope there's a direct x fix ..patch coming sooner rather than later. I REALLY wanted to play this game and it won't even let me into the first splash screen. $73.00 Canadian ..later.

I hope "driver support" is (also) referring to the continous crashing of the game in cutscenes and at the war table; quite some people seem to be having this problem...

Really hoping you guys also take a look at stability for the MP portion on PC.
I cannot get into a single game without my guy being frozen at the start. After 5 minutes I can finally move but it never syncs back into the game with the rest of the people playing.
Please bioware, look into this stuff!

I'm glad to hear this is being looked at.
Between the extremely clunky controls and the lagging frame rate, combat is almost impossible to control. I too have very tired fingers and I haven't even made it through the tutorial yet. I probably won't be playing more than 10 minutes at a time until some sort of help for one or both issues comes through... I'm a huge Dragon Age fan, but it's just too painful to be fun. :/

All they have to do is re-implement what they had in DA:O/DA2. Easy, intuitive, and the changes in DA2 I learned in less than 5 minutes. That let me enjoy the game for what it was instead of fighting my keyboard and "DA muscle memory" rather than paying attention to whatever was in the game. PC has lost immersion through this UI--exactly the opposite of what Bioware said they were doing (immersive! Combat like DA2, story like DA:O!). Hence, the use of my earlier term "mislead". Combat UI is nothing like DA2. At all. I now miss DA2 combat. That is incredibly hard to say out loud. ;-)

Please make F activate Loot All in the loot popup. Space Bar works fine when the option is highlighted, but I think I'd still prefer the index finger than moving my thumb every time (I loved the R key in DA2).
Please make Enter and Space Bar activate the Click to Continue prompt at startup (seriously?).
I don't know a solution, but mouse-look makes the game so much better. But holding down RMB all the time puts too much strain on my finger, and it also screws up when you interact with stuff. Maybe there can be some sort of toggle key (switch it on, the cursor disappears and the camera locks to the mouse and A and D become strafe keys); on console ports (which DA3 most definitely is, even though you tried to graft the controls of the last two games on top of it), I traditionally use the keyboard for everything (mouse is for looking and attacking), so having the tiny cursor floating around with some stuff that you can occasionally click on really isn't something I'm benefiting from at all.
I'm really not a fan of the interface menus, but I haven't used them enough to be able to offer any suggestions. It's a pain to have to rely on the mouse for everything, though (since all the useful information is confined to tool-tips, it seems). Arrow key navigation should work for the talents menu at least (instead of needing to manually drag the view around so you can see and click on the little talent icons); that thing is super annoying.
I lament useful tool-tips on the main screen. I'm also not sure if the bar is glitched, but sometimes I don't seem to be able to cast spells even though it looks like it should work (and there's nothing at all to indicate why). And occasionally the bar decides not to show tool-tips at all when hovering the cursor over the buttons (not that you get anything more than a title anyway).
