Pardon my bluntness, but I am pretty pissed off.

The tactical camera is horrendous, I put the game on hard hope to plan out and have a good challenge, but in reality, since the TC is so bad it feels like not even worth going through the effort of battling to try and make use of it, I am litterly forced to play with only 1 character at a time, and getting boring, fast, but not as boring and tedious as using this pathetic excuse for an rpg TC.

What would fix it ? making it like in DA:O on the PC, why is that so godamn difficult.

The super close up camera, having to battle with pushing the camera to the desired location, not being able to godamn queue commands, seriously ? do I have to do this **** and try and find the enemies with this camera every frigin time someone finishes casting an ability ?

I dont get this, I really dont bloody get this. I was so excited about getting this game, now I can barely bring myself to play it just to justify its purchase, I could imagine it was possible for a veteran PC company to mess up PC controls THIS BAD. now I finally understand all the metactic negative PC scores.

And thats not to mention all the other pesky bugs, such as the gender swap one, that I have encountered over measly two hours.

Fix the gender bug. Fix the 360 graphics. Fix the hair and beards

Then in future dlc improve the menus. Reach out to your sister companies. Reach out to modding community.

Its funny but this game reminds me of the cop in the lego movie. Some get the smiley face and some the angry. First time ive had the angry (ive been here since the begining)

Heck no gurl. I want my tooltips, the crafting comparison tools, a less useless tac cam and an auto attack (and the bugfixes obviously) ASAP. Only then i might want to wait a bit for an UI overhaul.

Doubt thats gonna happen in the next few days. Can't exactly throw something together half hearted just to please the community. Though they should have focused on the PC version properly and not make it a port...Dissapointed with Bioware on this aspect..feels like theyre forgetting their origins.

Yeah well, the game in nigh unplayable on hard without a decent tac cam (mostly because it keeps jumping back to whatever team member is selected and because i can't see ****) and an auto attack, i have to babysit my character and i can't concentrate on actual battle.

Somebody made a point earlier on here regarding the staff at Bioware and I think it's clearly a factor in what we are seeing. Most of the lead programmers, and prolly even a lot of the newly joined designers for Origins and KOTOR are gone. Laid law and Darrah are 2 of the only remaining members of those Bioware studios.

Lot of new blood trying to put their stamp on a major release here. Could be why so many things are being screwed up.

Not that I really give a damn, but it's a def a possible factor.

I wanted to buy the game today, but after reading those horror stories about the horrid PC UI; no walk toggle and controls I have decided to wait another month. I have zero interest in playing a game that doesn't work.
Hopefully it won't take them longer to fix those issues.

I wonder if developers even test their games anymore before releasing them.-

Well they certainly fell short of delivering for PC in my opinion, too. Which is why I'm here. I just don't think they'd bother mentioning specific issues if they weren't already planning on addressing them.

That's the same as saying "they wouldn't promise a PC game if they weren't planning on making one". Guess what happened ? :P

(which was my entire previous point)

Of course, they now will probably play the PR game, make a half-assed patch that correct a few very easily fixed problems, let the fanboys praise them to heaven for it, and consider the entire thing fixed.

It won't happen in the next few days. The way I interpreted the original message was these things are being looked at. There is a patch they are working on but it's doubtful all the specific things mentioned will make it into that patch. I expect we'll see driver support and they'll probably address the problem with black screen keeping even people who meet the min requirements and some on console from playing the game.

I agree as well, I'm really tired of otherwise great games being console ports. An active and heavily devoted mod community made Skyrim bearable, especially the UI.

guys:

Leave the ***ing hinterlands!
http://www.reddit.co...ng_hinterlands/

game gets good enough to keep us entertained until bioeare fixes this!

Thanks so much for this! Great advice!
I just played in the Hinterlands so far, and based my initial observation on everything described in the article:
Boring gathering quests, no focus, no story, pointless battles, grindy stuff.

Now I got this tip and am really excited again! I want to be excited! I want this game to be good!

I am reposting the list below to give it some visibility. It summarizes very well all the things that don't work for me as well.

Eh, it's mean to gripe without offering some suggestions, so here's mine:

1.  Make it so the mouse wheel only zooms in and out, it doesn't switch views.

2.  Make it so you can angle the tactical camera to be able to look UP.

3.  Increase the distance you can zoom out (z) in tactical camera.

4.  Make it so that the camera doesn't move when you select a new character.  If you need a "center on currently selected character" (which could be useful, sure) make that a double-click function while select is just a single click.

5.  Put in some kind of ability to issue the same move command to multiple people at the same time.

6.  Decrease the rubber-band distance when the party is "disengaged" and you're controlling a character in normal mode.  This will make it MUCH easier to move the entire party rapidly in an emergency.

7.  When you're actually IN COMBAT (NOT disengaged) there should be NO rubber-banding of any kind whatsoever under any circumstances.

8.  Move/Hold position etc. commands should persist even when  you go out of tactical mode.  If I told someone to move to point X, they should MOVE there, not switch back to "hug the party leader" just because I switched to direct control.

9.  Replace the scroll arrows above the paper doll image in all the inventory screens with small portraits of each party member that you can click directly on without having to scroll through all of them.

10.  Increase the number of listed items in all inventory screens and decrease the size of each item's name.

11.  Let you compare the stats of any crafted item to the currently equipped items of a selected character before you finalize crafting it.

12.  Move the "Craft upgrades" menu from the base crafting table to the modify table and make it so when you select an item it brings up a list of all existing upgrades and all schematics for upgrades that can be applied to that slot.  If you click on a SCHEMATIC, it should then bring up the crafting menu for that schematic and, when you finish crafting it, immediately apply it to the item.  Heck, I'd love it if you'd just get rid of the entire stupid modify table altogether and let you apply mods directly from inventory by double-clicking on the item.  Every time I go to craft stuff I get menu fatigue.

I've never posted on the forums before the release of DAI; however, I felt compelled to do so because of the horrible controls on the PC version.

Being a long-time Bioware fan who is very passionate about the Dragon Age franchise in particular, this release has been an enormous dissapointment for me.

Origins was an amazing game & is on my list of all-time-favorites! While Inquisition looks stunning and may very well have an amazing story/characters, I'm currently unable to play it with the state KB & M controls.

Having no click to move/ interract /loot or auto-attack is my primary compaint. If these issues could be addressed it would go a long way to making the game playable.

As many others have stated, there are other issues as well; the crippled TAC cam & clunky UI primarily.

It would mean a lot to the PC community if these could be addressed, but i think the first priority should be given to the mouse movement & auto-attack.

If Bioware announces their intention not to fix the controls for PC, I will be returning my copy of the game.

In the meantime, I will keep my eyes peeled for an official announcement from the company & will play with the character creator. Maybe one day I'll be able to play some of the protagonists that I create?

While I also appreciate a Bioware person finally saying something, I have to agree. If anyone--anyone in the development team with any PC RPG gaming experience had bothered to play with KB&M they would have immediately gone... "well, this is Not Good, guys, we need to fix this."

No autoattack? No click, mouse, character walks to loot? No full no-pause party support, even on "easy" and "normal"? No player-directed mouse binds? C'mon. It's not like you guys are new at this.

The fact that no streams using K&M were shown (and that the first people to get the game to play were console players) leads me to believe 1 of 2 things: someone did, said exactly that, and its clunkiness was deliberately hidden, or, 2, that no-one bothered. DA:O and DA2 were perfectly good PC-played games, and Bio should know better. I can play DA:O for hours and lose all the time in it (I've lost count of how many play throughs!) and yet after an hour of playing DA:I my hands were so sore I stopped.

I could put DA2 on "easy" and never ever pause and just sit back and enjoy the interactive combat. DA:O the only time I put it lower than normal was in the Fade (because it went faster! hehe). Telling us that we will have "fast and interactive combat with choice on PC" is not what is happening with K&M. Dying on the tutorial boss in normal multiple times because the interface is clunky and you can't even see the clicky hand on the rift when you have a gaming laptop in tactical? Priceless.

I expect so much better--and I, like others, would like to know specifics before the refund window closes, because as it stands now, I cannot play (and I am not going to buy a framming controller to play on my PC. "Controller support" =/= "must buy a controller", and should not).

Combined with the choppy play on a well-over-spec rig that runs other load-heavy games perfectly fine (loading takes SEVEN of RAM? Really?) and this is unacceptable, sorry.

I have never, EVER complained about a DA game in any bioware forum before. I've never felt the need. I expected it to be the same this time. Bugs, I expect. This sort of mislead? I do not. From EA, yes. From Bioware, no.

I really don't want to return the game if this will be fixed. I want to play your beautiful game! I want to complete my collection of blond-haired, brown-eyed boys! But, I am also leery of losing my AU$90 (thanks for the Australia tax, btw, guys), so I really need to know before that refund window closes. Please.

How about extending the refund window, since it's WAY TOO SHORT, for those of us in the US who (foolishly) pre-ordered via Origin and didn't want to knee-jerk return it until having a chance to check the internet the next day and see if the problems were fixable.  By the time I 1) realized it WASN'T just me, and 2) got home from my JOB that PAYS for the game, the refund window for Origin purchases that have been launched had already closed.  That whole policy needs to be changed, and Inquisition would be a great place to start.  Let's see how EA likes losing money.

It's pretty simple, really : make an UI for mouse & keyboard. Like it was not just promised, but actually used as a selling point.

Well that explains everything, so I was a fool to think Bioware still stands for quality games. Thank the maker EA didn't managed to buy over 2k games, otherwise the borderland and civilisation series would be horrible.

If I could return the game at this point i would, and be more than happy to repurchase IF its fixed.

I want to play the game but when I think about turning it on all the frustration of trying to play it convinces me to play something else. The only time I do is to play multiplayer with my brother.

I did not expect a game from bioware to be released with such a poor interface, like stunningly so. Everything from character creation, controls, UI ect. I kept asking myself this is BIoware? The DA IP and Bioware name kept me looking for the game I wanted, I kept convincing myself it must be here, I must be doing something wrong...

Last time I felt betrayed like this was from SotS2, yes SotS2 was much worse but bioware has 2 previous DA games under their belt, a plethora of highly polished games and should not be under financial strain to release such a poor product.

PC Problems:

1. No auto-attack unless you use tac cam.

2. If I stealth in tactical-cam my character will still auto-attack and break stealth which makes using stealth-based skills a true pain in the ass on hard/nightmare mode where tactical cam is required to play. If I use any stealth based skill they should automatically stop auto-attacking but they do not.
3. Hit box seems messed up somehow. Cassandra has agro yet sometimes, somehow, my rogue still takes damage if I stand next to her. (I noticed it badly when fighting spiders).
4. Tactical cam is a complete disaster (see my page 6 post).

This game plays like a beta. When can we expect a patch?

Don't release half hearted projects or broken junk and you amazingly won't get bad reviews.

"Half hearted projects"?  Really?  By all appearances they were fully committed to this game.

And I'd hardly consider the game broken.  It has some glitches and annoyances, but beyond those it is a fantastic game.  Sheesh, people get so fixated sometimes.  And it's those people posting bad reviews.

I'm looking forward to some fixes as much as the next guy, but I'm going to treat the situation fairly.  It's a great game with several bugs and several design mistakes, the former of which needs to be fixed, and the latter of which should at least be looked at.
