CAN I GET A LIKE FOR THIS?

Say about, I don't know, 50 Likes?    Some fantastic number to awaken someone who might give a sh!t and officially reply?

end2_zps99abe618.jpg

I just wanted to say that EA Bioware should really take a page from Ubisoft on how to handle a PR disaster like the one you caused by releasing a game on PC in such an awful state.

Reading Allan's post, seems to me to be a passive agressive way of refusing to acknowledge the lies they told to PC gamers and a complete refusal of admitting that they have disappointed their PC base. I feel betrayed by the marketing plot that this game was made for and by pc gamers. This game had very few thought in regards of pc gamers.

It is completely acceptable that the devs and QA testers have had no specific problem with the UI and PC controls during testing but ,as already, mentionned in the past posts, there was in the beginning a given bias to controllers.

There isn't any post from any Bioware employee  in which I feel that they are ashamed for letting down the PC community. To be fair, not everyone experiences the same level of frustration and it's near impossible to satisfy diverging needs and expectations but I feel that the first step would be to acknowledge how this game falls short of what was expected from Bioware.

Ubisoft with Assassin's Creed Unity have ,in the span of a few hours after the release, created a specific live update blog that keeps the customers updated, they have also given a free DLC and 3 patches and a very public apology from their CEO.

EA Bioware chose the complete blackout route and Allan, seems to refuse to acknowledge the lower than expected quality of this game. We are kept in the dark with very few posts from EA employees, no live update forum other than this minimal pathetic one. A public apology would be the strict minimum if they still respected and value their customers.

I've loved every single game from this franchise but this one really shows blatant disrespect to us PC gamers.

THIS ^

Over and Over, again and again people are writing the same thing and being ignored. SHAME!

DA:I won GOTY (wtf) last night at the Video Games Awards, because it wasn't as broken as all the other games this year, oth FC4 got one too and that is a bugfest all on it's own...

It's a fake win, after all its judge instead of votes. Throw money and of course dragon age will win.

Why the hell did you even order an American version?

Don't they sell it in Poland?

Eh, still a like

@Master: Game of the Year of what? RPGs?

I always figured a game must be out longer than a few weeks to even be considered.

On a side note, if anyone wants to see what this thread would have looked like if there was response and feedback, head over here:

Same game, same talk of making changes to it...

@Pen n Paper

Don't think that's going to work mate, considering now we know their PR stance, even though we had to search on reddit for it of all places...

Regardless of my opinion in this matter, I do empathise with his stance even if I disagree with it, price of fame I guess... bah, maybe I'm just too nice, and happy that at least the silence has been broken. Oh forget it... I'm liking your post, even though I don't reckon it'll do any good.

A good trial lawyer would tell you this: you don't have a case to win, but enough to get coverage. Think misleading statements and FTC.

And then...think of the PR....the PR. !

A little low, but still.  My 2 cents.

Fix patch I need most - leave "gender confusion" bug in game, but patch it so I can romance all these gender-locked characters xD

(this would be my favorite bug if it could get you romances...sadly your male will be woman in eyes of everyone but not enough woman to end in bed with Cullen lol)

Good question deserving an equally good answer.

I am Canadian without any Polish UI with locals. 9Like how I used UI there?)  Local DA3 games only use UI in Polish or Russian. That would be everything from text to instruction to voice overs.

As I was following that topic, it came about that were I to entangle myself with Origins IP reading machinery, there is a good chance my game, from Amazon, would be made available to me in Polish or Russian. Some guy on Amazon was understandably upset in his review when his physical copy of Delux Edition downloaded the game from Origins. He was like, what the heck: did I not buy a physical media copy?!

For me, such a thing would be a disaster. And an open game means no full refund.

Huh. Well let me tell you this. I'm in Germany and I don't even have the German voice acting because Origin downloaded the game in English because I have the Origin client run on english (the shop is still in German though).

I don't even need to download the English voice pack lol.

Different thing in Poland and further East I am afraid.

It was a huge discussion on the Feedback and Suggestions forum back in the naive days when I thought feedback and suggestions was actually being solicited.

A first timer writes.....

To all those unable to play I wouldnt be all that upset if I were you. Its cool to see the detail of the graphics but really the game is not much fun to play with the K/M issues, the inability to zoom out in the tac cam, the constant requirement to mash a button in order to attack, and having to manually manuver over to every item in order to loot.

I truly wish I had been in time to request a refund. I knew better and I should have waited 6 months or so for it to be patched up before I bought it, shame on me. It seriously appears as though the developers and testers did little to no work on the PC version of this game.

Mordor and Skyrim absolutely blow DAI away as DAI is in its current state

Not to add fuel to the fire, but a lot of folks are discovering that there is a limit of 250 save slots....for PC!

Personally, I can live with this, but it is yet again an indication of how half-heartedly this game got ported to PC...

Wow Bioware, just....WOW!

After years of intense work on this masterpiece, it is tarnished so quickly through negligence.

Well that's the question isn't it? Why is it as bad as it is, and how on earth did allan and his team (the people responsible for testing tactical mode) not tell them that it had major functionality issues in terms of basic functionality.

At this point all I really want to know from bioware is if they're fixing the tactical mode or not. If not, give me my refund.

If you expect people to take you serious, you give polite feedback and hope you find common ground.

If you expect people to look for the best way to marginalize your feedback, you choose strong language to make sure your feedback can't be warped into "well, people could be happier, but they'll adapt".

A 100 something thread about issues without any productive official statements in it does not really support the impression of being taken serious.

Ah ok. Well that sucks.

But that has been my compaint about games connected to a digital distribution platform for years now. Buy a game physically, still need to download half the game from the platform. Steam is as guilty as Origin here. And lets not even get started on Ubisoft here.

Yeah but on Steam there is no IP-locked, region-locked- bullshit-language issue.  I actually ridiculed myself defending BW devs about this on the thread "Please give some people the freedom to choose English language".

The sad fact was that their statements weren't true.  Poland and Russia got the shaft.

I wish I could have done that, pen-n-paper.

Paid $80 AU for a game that was specifically promised to be for PC, only to find lo! it is in fact for a console. Would not have bought had I known that.

But maybe I'll give it some time. After all I've got 7 days to return  to return according to Origin.

Keyboard and mouse is unworkable - I run into doors, can't loot unless I'm standing on top of the object, have to chase after enemies because there's no auto attack anymore, have to learn the new key bindings for controls with no tutorial/instructions. It makes me nostalgic for the controls for DA: Kirkwall. None of that mentioned except here, after everybody buys the game and starts playing.

My PC is up to date with latest drivers, has maximum capacity for video but I get crash to desktop with that DirectX/Nvidia message after winning any battle. Reduced video down three levels, still crashing.

Everyone's hair is shiny. Would love to figure out which option I need to turn off to get rid of that.

There's no heal, only 8 slots for spells, healing potions are limited to 8, am getting killed as I try to remember that the commands I have been using for the last how long no longer apply, and I'm playing on Casual.  Again, not mentioned by anyone except the players who discovered this after buying.

It's gameplay is really a lot like Mass Effect 3, which I didn't enjoy: no swapping weapons or entering your inventory during the game, having to return to the ship/keep instead of just camping. I have a very bad feeling the romances are going to be four conversations.

Alright, Bioware have stiffed me again. Will return. Mental note: never ever believe another review about a Bioware game. I can't believe not one reviewer mentioned the keyboard and mouse being absolutely monstrous.

ha ha! That seven day return policy doesn't apply to me.

This is really most unsatisfactory.

Yeah, that's what I hate about steam/origin, I buy a hard copy because I don't want to download the game due to download limits. Yet I still have to download GBs of data. Still remember on Shogun 2 as well, I bought a DLC pack, then steam decided it needed to redownload 30GB (the whole game) to get the DLC working! No way around it either, it automatically removed my Shogun 2 installation and even though I tried to reinstall using the disk, it STILL requires me to "update" by downloading the whole freaking game.

I wonder if this is the first job this guy has ever had.

Out of curiosity who all here has dealt with a customer unhappy with their product?

Out of everyone that has, how often is "run, hide, hope everything goes away" approach worked better than facing it head on?

Even if you have to tell them "I can't help it, you are just gonna have to deal with it" or "It is what it is" or "you are wrong and that's all there is to it" everything still ends up being solved and worked out faster than this hide and hope it goes away approach.

The garbage clients you don't want anyway won't come back, and the level headed ones you do want will stay if you at least talk to them.  If you run and hide you lose the respect of the good and the bad losing all of them.

It's not like this is some great revelation either, you just need to have some life experience to figure out, hence why I'm wondering if this is this guys first job ever.  But I guess you are a coward at heart, there's nothing that can be done about it...

edit:  Could you imagine a person like that, who is quaking in fear just because his "real name" is listed would fare working in an actual physical store.  If he is scared because some people know his real name, he might pee his pants if his clients knew what his face looked like, or where he would be every day from 8 to 5.  Hell, a lot of my clients have my cell phone number, 'lil Bryan would have to change countries if a customer had his phone number...

edit 2:  Oh NOES!  I just realized my full name is listed here and I bet this comment might make some employees at Bioware mad!  Better run around and lock everything up and hide under my bed, or the big meanies at Bioware are gonna come after me and my family because I said something they don't agree with!  I was just annoyed but willing to be civil before, but now that I know they ARE reading this but are literally just too big of chicken shits with too fragile of egos to handle any type of critique, even if it's constructive, I'm done.  Still enjoy their games, but I'm pirating them from now on...

Edit 3:  Except for Allan, may not be talking now, but he did go out of his way when he didn't have to have a back and forth.  He's cool.  If you ever move to Texas and need a job Allan, I'll hire you, not Bryan though, he is a ****** and I don't employ those.

*raises hand*. 12+ years in the industry. The sheer level of abuse I have suffered at the hands of "consumers" even in a communication format where I can not be personally identified is astounding ( I even had a stalker for 3 months despite that ). This is much MUCH different from working in retail or customer service. This entire thread is demonstrating his point perfectly. It would not be him vs an angry customer at Gamestop. It would be him as the focal point of everything and there would literally be no good answer that could please everyone. He's not even in a position to give any good answers to begin with. It's not his job. He's in QA not customer service or public relations and he's certainly not part of the management team making the decisions that likely resulted of in most of the community concerns. The internet has proven time and time and time and TIME again that it can and will destroy the subject of its ire at the drop of a hat.

Oh, and waving your dick around on a web forum and trying to shame someone else for not waving their dick back is not a good basis for employee hiring practices. -.-

Oh, they are, doesn't mean anything will change into a positive direction, if at all.
