Myself when I pay full price for a new game I expect to make it out the intro area....
Maybe bioware expects gamers to not suck...

So i just DLed IQ and it says i cannot start a new topic. So instead I am going to reply on other random topics because my complaint is valid. The first big boss fight on the PC version asks me to press the right mouse button...WTF...seriously WTF. it does nothing."You can disrupt fade rifts to damage demons" (right mouse button) "the rift while controlling your character"And yea nothing ****** happens. I have tried the fight going on 10 times now. Moving around the map, looking in different directions, not attacking the demon. Seriously. What kind of bush league bullshit game play are you guys going to now? What happened to an awesome story line first? If I wanted to solve a crossword before saving the princess I would have bought a USA today then played mario. Stop with the ****** crime scene scenarios to further the storyline.
I had the same problem as you... If you look UP at the rift you'll see a little icon inside it... You actually need to reposition your view and then move your mouse curser over this (yeah during the combat) and then right click on it so it makes a bunch of noise and blocks your screen with a bunch of green **** to "weaken the demon". Totally unnecessary in my eyes and just adds to the disoriented/confusing combat as it's not always visible unless you change the camera angle manually...
I think I'm going to go back to Dragon Age: Origins for a fresh play through until they patch DAI up. DAO they got it right for pc gamers.

as far as romance goes, I think one of the biggest issues facing hetero male gamers, are the guys playing females, not that I'm against this, but it does tend to make our voice that much smaller.
And as for mods to fix things, you still have to sort through all of the well endowed nude men and tiny anime girl mods which are always the first things out.

I think #4 is fair game for a "PC game made by PC gamers" "kinda," sorta, or otherwise stated as fact. Don't you? Some people have stated the disabled should adapt to the UI design, in defense of these developers who have cried on this topic to be treated like human beings. They, like the kid mowing my lawn in the summer, worked hard. (Unlike the kid or anyone else in involved with the delivery of product, they moan what great artistes they are unlike the reality of making money in which the rest of us live in - including that 12 year old kid.) Then these posters get shown up for being kinda-like sociopathic, because they never thought about handicapped people being part of their crowd of gamers. I wonder what goes through the devs.' minds while they are self-congratulating each other right now? Do they believe their own publicity telling them how great they are, bought by Bioware PR/publicists? How sad that.
How out of touch, like Ray Muzyka's (Bioware founder) Twitter response or Darrah's Twitter header.
[snip]
And this:
But even with all of its problems, look at the UI. ALL THE SLOTS. I had my dog aaaaaaall the way over next to the pot slots. So much space. So many slots. Oh, my poor DA:I mages.
ohgodimiss that.
And you can bet your Betty you could left click on those flying warriors and autohit them. ![]()
And my Hawke had their face, rather than an impersonal hand. That doesn't bother me, really, I get it, art and all. But it was nice.

I think you're up against a hard trend to buck. If you want a more typically feminine type of NPC romance option the first thing a lot of people ask is, "oh, yeah? What are you so afraid of?" That's kind of an irrelevant and unanswerable question for a guy who was just saying he'd like to see someone in-game who looks like someone he might be attracted to in real life.
Yeah, there's always some appearance mods that boggle my mind. People are complicated.

Fix patch I need most - leave "gender confusion" bug in game, but patch it so I can romance all these gender-locked characters xD
(this would be my favorite bug if it could get you romances...sadly your male will be woman in eyes of everyone but not enough woman to end in bed with Cullen lol)
Cullen has become much less oblivious since DA2 ![]()

Hey folks, Bioware team...
I have been following this thread for some time due to some issues I was\am having with DAI and was wondering if I could get a few things answered.
The DirectX crash problem people and myself have been experiencing with Nvidia hardware; how did this get past the testers and quality assurance? Did the Bioware team not test the game on multiple PC setups? It is quite disconcerting that this bug made it to release. As I understand it, this is an issue with Nvidia drivers, but why was this not resolved before release due to the critical nature of this issue?
As I understand it, the 30 FPS cap on cut-scenes is there due to some syncing issues. I own DAI on PS4 as well as PC and am able to see the hitching and stuttering on both platforms. Is this problem going to be addressed in the "upcoming" patch? Again, how did this get past quality assurance?
A video was released called "Dragon Age: Inquisition - Made for PC Gamers by PC Gamers". Not even the in-game menus function properly with a mouse.. Who on the marketing team at EA\Bioware decided that it would be a good idea to flat out lie to the consumers?
The multitude of in-game, progression breaking bugs are astounding. Where the heck is Quality Assurance? What kind testing was done to ensure these bugs did not make release? The consumers are not meant to be your beta-testers.
Why the silent treatment? On this thread especially. The OP was initially met with positive responses. People were thankful for an acknowledgement of the issues.
I realize that I am just mirroring other peoples concerns, but honestly the lack of of response and patch information is disheartening. I have had a love for all things Bioware for a long time. I was willing to give Bioware a pass on how bad DA2 was because Bioware acknowledged their mistakes and promised things would get better. From a lore and story standpoint, DAI is great, I love it, but the technical and progression breaking bugs are hard to overlook. It is very depressing to see a company release a game and expect the consumer to pay to beta test your game and then give them the silent treatment when they want answers.

Its important to note here that there's a difference between missing an issue and having to ship the game with that issue due to lack of time. Its an issue that has been slowly growing worse lately with the mainstream game industry. Any issue a game ( or hell, any product ) has I can guarantee you that at least some of the staff responsible are aware of it. But they're not the ones who make the decisions nor can they really talk about their knowledge for fear of their employment.
Bioware is fortunate in that it has enough clout in the industry to be able to delay the release of a game to begin with to have more development time despite whatever EA is up too. Think about what state the game might have been in had EA insisted on the Oct 7 launch date. Or the Fall 2013 one. There's no way there wasn't pressure from above to have DA:I out the door by the holiday season.
There aren't many large developers who are in a position to actually release a game "when its done". Most are dependent on a publisher and that publisher is the one setting the dates and making the final decisions. Given the track record of this arrangement in the industry lately DA:I actually shipped in a pretty solid state despite being on a new engine. Yes, it has some niggling technical issues on different system set ups and some graphical issues. As well as a few quality of life issues. But for the most part its perfectly playable and mercifully free of widespread game destroying bugs.
Considering the abject disasters that have shipped from other major companies lately...

DAI just won GOTY 2014 but if we take a closer look:
Golden joy stick award has more weight than this 'game of the award'.
http://thegameawards.com/nominees/
Just look at the judges, nothing but international media you know like the ones that gave DA 2 such excellent reviews. Looks more like EA paid to win GOTY.
About the GOTY that DAI has received:
The game is nominated for another GOTY where players can actually vote.
Perhaps if they are eliminated in the first round it would be a better message of what many players think about the game in its current state.

Ok Boiware, just look at this UI !
Nice clean and practical ! And look, it even works with controller !
Magic ? no, professionalism !
Dude, wait till it gets released and dont get your hopes up too much
Major **** storm is happening on CDPR forums, they have not been transparent when it comes to PC version Nvidia sponsorship (and their blackbox libraries that kill performance on AMD GPUs) and the obvious downgrade in terms of graphics that they have been showing for the past few months, concluding with the latest Elven Blood trailer

*raises hand*. 12+ years in the industry. The sheer level of abuse I have suffered at the hands of "consumers" even in a communication format where I can not be personally identified is astounding ( I even had a stalker for 3 months despite that ). This is much MUCH different from working in retail or customer service. This entire thread is demonstrating his point perfectly. It would not be him vs an angry customer at Gamestop. It would be him as the focal point of everything and there would literally be no good answer that could please everyone. He's not even in a position to give any good answers to begin with. It's not his job. He's in QA not customer service or public relations and he's certainly not part of the management team making the decisions that likely resulted of in most of the community concerns. The internet has proven time and time and time and TIME again that it can and will destroy the subject of its ire at the drop of a hat.
Oh, and waving your dick around on a web forum and trying to shame someone else for not waving their dick back is not a good basis for employee hiring practices. -.-
Hai! been running my own company for 11 years now. Your statement is invalid, it indeed does help in the hiring process. If you can't handle the heat in the kitchen, it's best to not even go in. Someone who can't stand up for themselves and handle pressure would be a waste of my time to train to begin with.
Also, trust me, I've had some pretty nasty run-ins with horrible customers of all kinds. My company sells stone, so we deal with everything from old ladies wanting a pet rock for her great grand niece, to General Contractors building multi-million dollar buildings. And since stone is natural, and no two are alike, the amount of complaints I hear are staggering and can get pretty nasty. I've had to kick out and ban at least 3 people, had two fist fights, because they were throwing fits so hard in their whining. My favorite was the time I was tracking down this broke ass who owes me a lot of money and he called the cops on me saying I made "terrorist threats"
You know what else? When someone complains about a valid problem, I talk to them and fix the issue however it needs to be done.
Anyway, don't tell me about how a horde of forum trolls (created by silent treatment I might add) is so much worse than dealing people face to face. That's the dumbest thing I've heard on these forums to date.

211 pages and all that has happened is that I am busy replaying DA: 0 , with mods, what a beautiful tactical game, close to perfect... as for DA: I, it is a good action RPG for consoles, wish they just called it something else aka "Demon Apocalypse " and left it to the peasants and did not say it was for the PC master race who use the ye olde keyboard and mouse!
Any good mods I should try, that aren't too taxing to get working?

It's been announced that there is no downgrade in terms of graphics, there is youtube video compression algorithm. And they will release a proper trailer soon. Know your facts, m8.

Really?
Ok now seriously here some facts for you M8, that new clip is already out since last night and although it does look better its far far from VGX and Sword of Destiny trailers that were showcased much earlier.
The more we approach the release date the in-engine trailers are looking worse and that is something to be concerned about.
Also it took them almost 20 hours since the shitstorm on forums began to re-upload the proper version and I wouldnt be surpised that they had
to fix it in engine and then record it again
Btw, did you really believed in all that crap they said?
Compression can make object blurry and maybe even with artifacts but it cannot lower the polygon count and that trailer looked like it was made for PS2.

I did not see a huge downgrade on the graphic side but stuttering is what worries me. Especially when turning right and left while riding the horse. However, someone explained it by saying something like "the stabilization is the final process of making a game". I haven't developed any game by myself so I can't say it's true or not. We shall see in three months.

I wasn't talking about anything ELSE than inventory on my post, so bitching about graphics downgrade and low AMD perf gpu is kinda out of the scope here.
But hey, if CDPR wants to go the NVIDIA way (wich imo offers much better graphics and physx libraries than AMD) it's their choice.
Now back to topic on DA:I shitty controls and UI plz ![]()

Dear Bioware,
As I dislike gaming consoles, I dislike the way you've done and actually ported console control on PC. The camera issue in battles irritates I suppose each player! Why I need to press RMB to change camera view?!
Please make patch ASAP because continue playing with such control scheme is irresistable for PC gamers! Thanks
