How is it pretending there's no unrest? Bioware employees tried to respond until every response they made was combatted with 5 flame posts and one constructive criticism. I don't think you guys realize that to anyone else in the world looking in, you, the fans who are bitching and complaining and acting like they got axe murdered because they bought a product they didn't like, would look like the bad guys. Not Bioware who doesn't want to converse with you over this medium (they have over other, more civilized mediums.)

But this is supposed to be THE BIOWARE FORUM for God's Sake! Stuff all response since Darrah's post. No flaming or aggro till at least a week later. The more silence the worse it got. Now we are at page 213, still nothing. Any bitching on this forum is due to no response from Bioware. The early posts were very calm and well mannered in approach. It got worse the further it continued.
Its a Bioware controlled forum. You can be blocked, expelled, etc, etc. No visible moderators, so nothing has been said that crossed any boundary.

And it's not a product that we don't like.
It's a product that DON'T WORK as it has to work.
We are not fans, we are customers, and we deserve information about a broken product that we all paid!
I forgot.
The EA official forum sends people HERE for issues.
But they said that HERE we will have information about a patch too.
EA/BIOWARE : great policy, indeed
This is an answer from EA forum, from one of the forum staff (so it's NOT an official answer from EA)
"The main issue, as with most patches, is that EA can't just release a patch on consoles without Microsoft and Sony testing and certifying the patch. This can take a long time. For unknown reasons, EA released its PC patches in conjunction with the console patches, despite the PC versions not requiring certification."
I'd really like to know these "unkown reasons".
Essentially at this point if I went into something like the PC feedback thread and posted right now, what are my real options?
- Post "I have read this thread and will do my best to make others aware of it" - This would get me flamed for not actually saying something that will make most furious people happy
- Post "We are working on fixing x, y, and z" - This would then have a response of what about a b and c. Do you not care about those people with a b and c?
- Post "We are going to fix everything" - Well now if someone decides not to fix something, then I will be called a liar in the public eye and inevitably damage my reputation by making a statement I have no control over
Well, second option seems obvious for me. Most of the forum are intelligent enough people who can understand that one patch can not solve all problems at once. Hell, it will probably cause some, but we need information, communication, a presence, that's how crowd works. Crowd is always shouting, but it will go really nuts if a person they need won't appear on stage for a really long time. There will always be people constantly flaming, but there are mechanics like moderation to cut them off if they cross the line.

Link please?
I do not to read every Page here, but is there any sights of a ETA for the PC Patch? Well, slowly i begin to regret ever buying DA3

Nope.
In all my time with Bioware, I never expected this. I had feared the day when I would no longer be a Bioware fan, but I had always thought it would be because of subpar products. I had never envisioned that instead, I would lose faith in Bioware due their silence and lack of communication with their fans. Yet... here it is.
Not once have I encountered a gaming company that releases a game with inevitable issues, only to abandon their fans and giving them the silent treatment (unless they are doing poorly in sales/closing down/etc). Not only do I regret pre-ordering this game now, but I regret supporting Bioware for so long, a company that doesn't give two sh-ts about us. Who feel their paying customers are a spoiled and entitled bunch. At least when Ray was still in the game, there was still communication, Bioware still showed that it cared.
I guess I should have expected this since Ray retired. Guess it's time for me to retire too, from Bioware.
I think it's good time to jump to multiplayer/real life/other games and just wait. That post seems believable enough for me, so no reason to linger here and demand bioware's attention. That will get us nowhere.
While BioWare hasn't been silent, they haven't given much info either. From what I understand, all we know is this:
3 patches are in the works.
The release date is unknownThey are aware of PC community concerns and will likely address performance, user interface, and gameplay issues in a future patch
Oh boy. This isn't going to end well.
From what I'm reading though this guy seems to be distancing himself as far as being any kind of official EA rep, more of just a straight up forum mod that wouldn't know detailed info like if EA does in fact delay PC patches in favor console patches based on certification. I'm linking this to the reddit convo in hope the QA guy posting there can confirm or deny
Well, about the reddit-post:
I kinda understand the silence about minor problems like "not able to toggle walk/run". "Whatever you say, it's wrong" fits there pretty much (as in many cases).
However, I do -not- understand the silence with major problems like the directx-crashes. There are still alot of people who cannot play at all because of them. And many of the people who can play start spoilering everywhere in the forum, even it's not meant to be for spoilers. Just reading this one thread here, I already got to know more about things that will happen during a playthrough than I wanted to read about, which is really annoying.
Minor-Problems silence -> Okay for me (and sorry for all who are disagree, but being able to toggle walk/run -is- a minor problem)
Major-Problems silence -> Absolutely not okay. Many people 'want' to play but they -cannot- because of the directx crashes. And everything we get in waiting for our "You can finaly play!"-Patch is aboslute silence, which is not less than feeling completly left alone with this major problem.
So as much as I understand their new policy, there are problems they should -not- be silent about.

And the award for Victim Card Of The Year goes to...
Bryan Johnson just posted this on reddit
My two cents, the entire industry has changed. I have a few posts on this sub reddit that ended up being quoted by English, French, Spanish and German news pages. If I provide a wrong piece of information that information is now in the public domain more than ever and I can be "crucified" for "lying" even years after the fact.
Furthermore we get instances of people being online bullied because they spoke to the public and then something happened that they didnt like. So the person that spent time talking in the community is now the enemy and the person who works behind the scenes has not spent extra time and is not potentially being bullied.
People will undoubtedly say EA changed us (I expect this) but it is infact the industry as a whole. When you have millions upon millions of dollars on the line (with actual legal consequences) you tend to watch your words a bit more carefully.
You'll also notice I have my real life name on this sub-reddit. I am not an anonymous person, people can very easily find out who I am so if I make a statement that someone doesnt like they can easily go out and search for everything I have done and start to tear me apart.

Good heavens, Mr. Johnson has quite the persecution complex.
I don't understand all this stuff about how devs can't come in here or they'll be flamed.
Don't they have a public affairs department? People whose job it is to handle this stuff? For example, the military has public affairs officers whose actual job it was to communicate things to the public and handle any inquiries as soon as possible and as positively as possible.
Why wouldn't something like that work here? Hire someone with enough of the background in the industry to be knowledgeable, with media relations/public affairs experience and half this crap would stop.
When "buzz" can help make or break a game, why wouldn't you have a person or an entire department whose job it is to help manage it.
Sure, I understand why devs wouldn't want to come along to address these issues. But hire someone whose job it is to communicate this issues, who is in regular contact with the devs.
They have (had maybe) them, but they are strangely absent and have been for a long long time.
Victim card pulled while paying customers are given the silent treatment after paying for a full priced game that doesn't work 3 weeks after launch.
It wouldn't surpise me, if they waited with the patch on the first DLC release. This is just beyond sad Bioware!

Works fine for me and I'm playing it on a 'middle class' Laptop of all things. And I also have no problem getting over myself and plug in a goddamn Controller instead of *****ing all the time about "muh mouse and keyboard!"
No wonder we're getting the silence treatment.

Just because you enjoy eating sh!t does not mean everyone should do the same.
