Except they came with answers....aka when the patch would come out...something they very likely didn't know before they announced it..hence them saying the patch would be "soon" recently.

If he made that same post, but replaced the 9th with soon, Bioware would be getting crucified right now.

I don't think people have realized...but I doubt think Bioware has any interest in, nor thinks it's possible to appease the population on this forum. From their history of posting imporant updates elsewhere and generally avoiding touching this place with a 10 foot pole, it seems to be true.

True I think at this point the quitters and flamers have quit and burned out respectively, now all that's left are those generally concerned with a game they care about and want to play.

Aaaaaand here comes the UI of TW3 in 30 secs.

Don't think so, it's a pretty generic one in lots of RPGs. Ragdoll of a character, slot grid etc...

It doesn't matter what anyone says here, we won't be heard or acknowledged here. They got their $$$ from us, well played Bioware.

OK so the mouse interaction within the menu's is pretty bad, mouse-over info not updating and don't even get me started on trying to open and close things in the quest journal, it's just some polish, and there is a lot of shine to be had elsewhere.

Lol

I sure as hell bet you wouldn't have been saying that 3 pages ago haha

I don't follow, what happened 3 pages ago?

This what bothers me, actually. It was really simple to do. The graphics are all there, all I did is just rearranged them in a classic way, the one we usually see in RPGs. It's way more practical and saves you a lot of hassle going in-between screens.

Actually even a soon, if qualified by the fact that we are NOT slave to console cert time would have been enough to satisfy many. I know the biggest issue for me outside of no communication was the spectre of being forced to wait for console certs that have nothing to do with us.

So at least that fear would have been quelled.

I'm for combining the screens into one, but I'm honestly more concerned with not being able to manipulate the character/item with the mouse like i can with the analog sticks... why i have to use the camera turn functions defaulted to a and d seems a bit unorthodox. It's like they completely forgot what a mouse is and how people will expect to use it. Perhaps they should ask Cassandra what people would expect to do with their right hand/mouse...

All this Twitter stuff.  I don't like twitter and so I don't have an account, but I read the Twitter notes from Bioware. Is Twitter really only this vapour-marketing, we-won-GOTY, we-are-the-good-ones, we-are-cool and alike bla bla? And now this twitter about a patch to come. But nothing in this official forum. I don't get it. I really don't get it. I appreciate the work on the game (which is great) and I appreciate the work on the patches (of course I do). But there is something really wrong in the Bioware communications department. This, what we saw, was no communications. It's only just throwing bits of information around and hoping, someone finds it.

and so do I, but this what bothered me the most. I can get use to controls, but this constant switch between screens just to see what I have in my inventory and what my char is wearing...madness!

This pisses me off to no end. Is Bioware perfect? No. Have they put some janky cash grabbing things into their games? Yes.

But this is the company that went back and released an extended ending to Mass Effect 3 free of charge because the fans complained. Then they went and gave us Citadel DLC which is pure 100% grade A fanservice.

Bioware does give a damn. Its the fan base thats ruining them at this point. All the anger and abuse they've gotten over the last several years.

You want to complain about something being wrong with the game? Fine. There's valid complaints to be made. But cut this crap out.

Dear Bioware,

Could you please make your UI look like this? It isn't that hard and look: I've used your own graphics!

Pretty please?  :crying:

Put a DA2-style UI on the gaming page and this would work very well, actually.

Nice job.

Thank you, but I'm afraid this won't change a course of things and will only sit here as reminder of what we could have.

If only we could get access to modding tools I would be a happy kitty...

Can't help but agree about Twitter, and about the poor management of information release.

Agreed, moving between all those screens just to mess with my gear is a bit maddening.

I don't understand all this stuff about how devs can't come in here or they'll be flamed.

Don't they have a public affairs department? People whose job it is to handle this stuff? For example, the military has public affairs officers whose actual job it was to communicate things to the public and handle any inquiries as soon as possible and as positively as possible.

Why wouldn't something like that work here? Hire someone with enough of the background in the industry to be knowledgeable, with media relations/public affairs experience and half this crap would stop.

When "buzz" can help make or break a game, why wouldn't you have a person or an entire department whose job it is to help manage it.

Sure, I understand why devs wouldn't want to come along to address these issues. But hire someone whose job it is to communicate this issues, who is in regular contact with the devs.

Their public relations will report to the promotions department not to any executive function from what I can see. Otherwise there would be a PIO (public information officer) online here managing the communications rather than having random bits of information scattered across channels. A professional PIO would know that communications is a ritual and not always a transmissional exchange.  A good PIO would be gathering information and dialoguing, mimimizing the flame with simple honesty.

Marketing PR has been misleading and dishonest with its communiations management - as far back as DA2. Their practice gives everyone in the profession a black eye.

And the award for Victim Card Of The Year goes to...

Good heavens, Mr. Johnson has quite the persecution complex.

This tells me more about Bioware corporate culture than anything about their customers, frankly.

It's not perfect, but it does address a valid concern, and does offer a perspective, if I were a ui artist looking at this, I would be able to take it and run with at least a couple concepts Shush has displayed.

Autocorrect is a ****....

That aside I'm not going to out a nefarious spin on it. If it was the original plan it appears that's been changed and if it wasn't they should have been up front about it instead of letting the rumor mill spin. Either way I'm glad common sense seems to have prevailed.

I never said, that I want it to be exactly like that, but I'm sure as hell if I can do this, they can do 100 times better!

So... is there an ETA on those patches they mentioned? I want to do another playthrough, but I don't want to do it with the buggy quests and things..

Well that shoots down all the we have to wait on console cert rumors. They could have squashed that ages ago by just responding to it here.

No it doesn't.

For all we know, it did fail console cert but because the PC has no such layer, they're releasing anyway.

PC gamers being used as Beta testers for patches shouldn't surprise anyone, given the mess that DA:I is in right now.

By my own understanding they were shooting for the 9th, now they did say they missed their mark, but it's at least something.

And now this twitter about a patch to come. But nothing in this official forum.

Where have you read that?
